Perfect spot for dinner right before a show as it's right across the street from the theaters. Although the New England clam chowder was a bit disappointing, the pizzas and sliders were delicious. Also great cocktails!

Only restaurant near Boston's theater district on Open Table. We went on a Sunday night and probably did not need reservations as there were few shows. Food and service were excellent. Kids enjoyed the nachos and main courses were also prepared as ordered. The only issue we had was quickly resolved as they brought out mac and cheese instead of a kids pizza - yet they let us keep the mac and cheese and it was delicious.

We ate dinner downstairs and enjoyed the food very much. We then went upstairs to their lounge/bar with multiple couches and a fire place! We loved the ambiance. I would certainly return to Abby Lane for dinner and/or drinks!

I made a reservation for dinner for 2. When I got there, I was ushered upstairs to a lounge area and seated at a spot with two low chairs and a coffee-table height table. When I asked if I could actually have a table for dinner, I was told my only option was to sit at the bar. Upstairs was loud and had tvs blaring over the bar. While the bar would be a great place to meet friends or colleagues for drinks, I wasn't going to eat a nice dinner with my husband hunched over a low table. We finally went downstairs and sat at that bar which was quieter. The good news was the food was really really tasty. If you want to sit at an actual dining table, I recommend calling ahead and requesting a seat downstairs.

Loved the atmosphere and the food good, but our server was awful. She kept forgetting things we asked for (a glass for my bottled beer, an extra spoon) and didn't check on us through our entire entree. She was nice, but not very attentive.

First visit to Abby Lane prior to a show at the Wang Center directly across the street. Less than two months into operation, the food, service and ambiance were all impressive and suggestive of a return visit. We left plenty of time to make the opening of a Leonard Cohen performance and thus had no issue with any delays than can often occur in such venues. The Market Salad (with beef) and New England Clam Chowder appetizers were both attractive and tasty. Kobe sliders and lemon meringue pie dessert (creatively served in a small terrine-type cup) completed a light supper that was ample for the occasion. Mint Condition cocktail is a twist on the classic julep and worth a try. Tall tables are cozy to the adjoining diners, but manageable.

Service was spotty alternating between quite friendly and then annoyed by a simple request for silverware, however the food was absolutely delicious from the fresh rolls to addictive french fries. Arrived early for our reservation and spent 40+ on drinks upstairs as we waited and were kicked off of every couch we tried to sit on as they became free because we were told they were reserved for eating customers only. We then stood in a corner and watched other people sit down and only order drinks. If you would like to sit and enjoy a drink, perhaps wait until you have secured a seat so they don’t practically humiliate you by kicking you off the seat you found.

Not often does a restaurant open for so short a time fire on all cylinders on a busy Saturday night. Abby Lane's proximity to the Wang Center makes it the go-to place for pre-theatre dining; its vibe is convivial and energetic, and the service expedient but not hurried. Try these: Lobster Roll (outstanding) any of the burgers (omg) the tuna. We can't wait to go back and explore the rest of the menu - but we won't wait until we're going to the Wang! Two Thumbs Up. btw: Abby Lane is not a large place - call and reserve a table to avoid disappointment.

We were excited to try Abby Lane but were very disappointed. We arrived at 6pm. After waiting 25 minutes we had to ask the hostess to send over someone to take our drink order. When they finally arrived and we started to order our meals, the waitress had very little information on the offerings; nor could make recommendations or answer questions. Given that we had an 8pm concert, at 7:10 we noted that and the response was "Your order in in". When the food finally arrived at 7:35, all six people at the table remarked that it 'just wasn't good'. My lobster roll had very little lobster, a lot of shredded lettuce; and was awash in liquid mayo. Most at the table even ate half their food. We will not go back.

We love Jason Santos. From his time at Gargoyles on the Square, Blue Inc., and now Abby Lane. The joy of Jason is his passion and creativity. He succeeds more often than not and some of the best food we've ever had came from his imagination. Our first visit at Abby Road was hit and miss. Our server was wonderful, she smiled constantly and was very attentitive, however she did seem a bit unsure of herself. Maybe a bit new to the scene. The Tuna Tar Tar is one of Jason's specialties and he delivered another exceptional iteration here. The fig and prosciutto pizza was tasty but not as good as others we've had, and the baked mac and cheese was comforting but not remarkable. The only true negative was the apple crisp. Soggy and way too sweet.

Loved this new place... so happy to have another option in the Theatre District! Atmosphere was fantastic, really nice place. Food was fantastic as well. I had one of the pizzas, my client had the mac 'n cheeses and my coworker had the shrimp BLT and we all raved about our food. The only suggestion from my cleint was that there should be more options for people who don't eat meat. But thankfully she did find an option that she loved. I WILL be back!

Went here before a show at the Wang Theater. Ordered a Maple Manhattan that did not taste like maple or anything much at all so I sent it back & traded for a glass of wine. It was around 6 pm so it was definitely a theater crowd, including young kids and older folks. Yet the music was top 40/dancey stuff that totally gave the wrong vibe. The atmosphere feels upscale but the music was all wrong. Food wasn't great. Pizza, caesar salad were mediocre. Fries were good but probably had been frozen. Broccoli raab wasn't great, really greasy. Maybe it's because we were seated upstairs? Waitstaff wasn't very attentive. Wouldn't bother coming again unless it was a pre- or post-show drink.

We were seated upstairs which had a much more relaxed ambiance than the bustling downstairs. There were sofas and easy chairs and fireplace! Loved sitting by the large windows and looking out at the Wang and Wilbur ............Food was good; service was too; my clam chowder took a very long time to come out and so they gave us our first round of drinks free of charge! A nice gesture. We will be back!

I stopped in on the recommendation of a hotel bartender and was blown away. It has only been open a short time so the crowd was light. Burger with real mozz cheese and basil sauce was excellent, as was the pork tenderloin. (I enjoyed it so much, went there the next night as well.) The salads were excellent, fresh and local, according to the menu. Well done craft cocktails as a bonus. Open kitchen concept is cool, but they need to put a shade over the blinding kitchen lights. Will probably need a reservation on my next visit, but will be worth it.

We made a reservation here b/c it's right across the street from the Wang and was convenient for an after show lunch. There is no sign for the restaurant outside which makes it a little tricky to find but everything else was great - everyone in our party enjoyed their food and dessert was delicious and creative. The staff were very nice & prompt. The decor was fresh & modern. Unlike most Boston restaurants the tables were not squished on top of each other.

This is great place for dinner, drinks or apps before or after a show. It is kid- friendly but is great for couples and larger groups. The food is excellent. We had three different burgers and, unlike other places, their attention to a quality burger makes the eating experience like that of a main entree. This is a versatile new restaurant that will please almost everyone.
