Attentive service. Nice selection of sushi and tapas. Food was really good--my husband and I particularly liked the mushroom flatbread and mango roll. The one negative is wine is on the pricey side and pours are not very generous.

Food was excellent, service was spotty. Biggest complaint is the wine pour. I complained about the amount of wine in my glass and was told that it was a measured 5oz amount. I find this very cheap as it appeared that the glass was less then 15% filled. They told me that they have large glasses!! The last time I checked a bottle of wine had about 27/28 oz of wine. So a normally resturant pour gets 4 glasses from a bottle then O-toro's is getting 5+ a bottle. Based on the price per glass this is no bargin.

Had tried for lunch and enjoyed it but was wowed beyond expectation at dinner. My husband and I shared 5 items including a sushi roll, duck tacos, filet mignon dumplings, miso soup and sea bass tostadas a Everything was fantastic, melt in your mouth. We also enjoyed sharing two different white wine flights where you could pick three. They brought these out on a great glass rack that holds the three individual full-sized wine glasses with very handy white tags on the stem that identified each wine. This is really very helpful and appreciated. The wine list is very unique. We had never heard of many of the wine varietals or wineries. Having a wine flight choice enabled us to enjoy some new wines. Service was friendly and low-key.

Went to O-toro on a Friday night for 'date night' in order to use our Groupon - our first visit to the restaurant. We were very suprised at home many kids were there. Which was fine, we just didn't realize it was such a 'kid-friendly' place given the cuisine. The menu is about half sushi and half tapas dishes - which made for a nice variety of choices. We split 2 tapas plates and 2 sushi rolls and 1 desert - which was a good amount for 2 people. The mushroom flatbread was outstanding - as was the 'bag-o-donuts.' I will definitely be back - next time with my son - who loves sushi!

Amazing tuna roll was pretty amazing! I also love the mushroom flatbread and was impressed by the sliced filet with mushrooms. I would skip the filet dumplings next time. Calamari salad was good and a nice size portion. I do think the wine pours are pretty weak- seems less than 4 oz to me... But it's a good selection by the glass. Cool vibe.

We love the wine bar concept. O'Toro is notable for having an interesting and expansive wine selection, including many international wines (French and Australian, especially). This is a rare place on the Main Line where one can order nice French wine by the glass. We like the wine sampler and trying several different wines. Sashimi and Apps/Tapas are good, we recommend the Duck Tacos, Calamari Salad, Tuna Tartar. While we like the Sashimi, we found some of the rolls too complicated for our taste.

Tapas, Wine and what? O-Toro seems to have gone downhill since they opened. When we first stopped in upon opening, the tapas were imaginative and very delicious. The wait staff is quite dull, and they seem not to know much about serving the public. We found our experience there to be, that we would not return to try again. The cheese board plate had cheese that was quite hard and looked like it was left out of the frigerator for hours. Not edible, and then to not hand you a knife to eat the items on the plate rather surprising.

They only had two servers, but it's a small place so not many are needed. However, our server seemed to be doing most of the work, causing a few mistakes that were not his fault. The food was very good, I did find a bone in my duck taco which was the only thing I found remotely wrong with it. At least I knew it wasn't processed duck at that point. :o)

Found the place originally through Groupon. We had a wonderful time at O-Toro. Food was excellent. Service was great. Always available and very helpful staff. We got asked whether to have our tapas or sushi first so food was not sitting out getting cold. The tapas were served nice and warm and it was a very relaxed environment. We didn't feel rushed but at the same time the service was very prompt and attentive to our requests. Great restaurant. They excepted the Groupon with no problem. We will definitely be back.

O-Toro - This was my first time dining at O-toro and I found it very pleasant. I am a big fan of sushi so my date and I ate a few different sushi roles which were all very good. The bill for two was just under $100 which is what I was expecting for the quality of food and service that we received. I would recommend O-Toro to friends and family members any time. It was a great atmosphere and great food! Paul

The food was great we each had about 2-3 things. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad which was good, the octopus sushi which was good, and the shoestring fries. He had the Calamari salad, and the duck tacos both were excellent. The only issue with the food was that it really should have been treated more tapa style by the staff (i.e. encouraged sharing of food which we did anyway) and we had what felt like no proper way to eat the shoestring fries (tried with hands and felt like we were breaking etiquitte rules, tried fork and chopsticks and made a mess). The sake prices are ridiculous at this locale (we have had it at many places for MUCH cheaper) and they seemed befuddled at the idea of warm sake. Beer choices were very good.

The sushi was really good but a bit heavy handed with the sauces on them. Not super authentic or healthy but tasty. The tapas was horrible... Filet potstickers were so bland! The dipping sauce was bland too. Calamari salad wasn't very good either. The calamari were over fried and greasy.... Salad part was tasty and plentiful. Highlight of the night was the French press coffe.... Now THAT was delicious!

Excellent spot for a meetup with friends or dinner on a Friday night. Their sunflower roll was exceptional. Also worth noting they have non sushi items on their menu to appease all taste buds. The nori filet & KFC are not to miss. On the advice of our server we ordered 3 items per person which became way too much food (there were 4 of us at the table). I would say 2 items (unless you are starving) is a better bet. They do not offer brown rice for their sushi. All in all so glad to find this spot and I can't wait to go back again.

For a Thursday lunch, I thought I would try something new. We hadn't heard a thing about O-Toro, but the parking lot was filled so that was a good sign. It also shares with Landmark Grill, but both restaurants were very busy. A good sign was a wine locker in the stylish foyer, that means a lot of regulars. The food was really great. Sushi was inventive and delicious, but the diver scallops were well above grade. They were about the best I have ever had, served with a frisee salad that I couldn't stop eating (though the 4 scallop order was a really large portion, 3 would have been quite enough...) I took home an order of Lobster Mac, and my husband agreed that it was one of the best things we'd eaten in a while.

We enjoyed this place. It's a bit of a blend of styles - part sports bar, part hip restaurant, part cozy booth atmosphere, but it seems to work out ok. The service was excellent (there were a couple of minor glitches like no soy sauce on the table (we had a late dinner) and no pen to sign our check) but they were quickly corrected. Food was pretty good. Really enjoyed the unique sushi rolls (Olive Tree was a favorite), the salmon sashimi seemed a touch frozen/SUPER cold in the middle but otherwise pretty good. The tapas were a mix - the filet mignon dumplings were tasty but the lobster mac and cheese was bland and forgettable. The calamari in the calamari salad was really tough. Bag of Donuts for dessert were stellar. We'd go again.

Sushi, tapas and wine. What could be better?? Neither menu is very long, just a few choices for each, but the food was delicious! This was first time at this restaurant. Food was tasty, but the sushi had a bit too much sauce drizzled on top for my liking... it was fresh, however, and the server was friendly though a bit too casual (reaching over the back of the booth, etc) It is a nice spot and good location. I would try it again, but in my mind doesn't compare to some of the good sushi in the city. I was a bit disappointed as I had high expectations but will definitely give it another try.

Everything was delicious! Loved all of our sushi, very fresh tasting. Had several tapas dishes as well and all were good. Only complaint was that when checking in for a 7:45 reservation, which we were on time for, we were told we would have to wait about 20 minutes. Turned out not to be the case, but thought that was kind of ridiculous. Other than that, we loved it!

We really like O-Toro. There's an excellent mix of tapas and innovative sushi options that comprise some surprising ingredients (prosciutto?) that are surprisingly tasty. The laid back "urban chic" ambiance is a nice respite from the fusty old Main Line status quo. I understand the wine list is impressive, but we have not sampled it yet. That O-Tini martini is so good we never seem to get past it! Christian is an excellent server. We've never had a bad experience at O-Toro.
