WHAT AN INCREDIBLE PLACE! A friend and I went to the Pomona Valley Mining Company's famous champagne brunch last Sunday and had THE MOST wonderful time! From the minute we walked in, we were treated with impeccable service, our glasses of bubbly were constantly filled, and food was absolutely delicious! From freshly made waffles and made-to-order omelets to delectable prime rib and king crab legs, this Sunday champagne brunch is absolutely not one to miss! Not to mention the incredible expansive views of the Pomona Valley from basically any table in the restaurant. The cozy, warm ambiance helped ensure that we lingered at our table like fat, happy cats in the sunshine for three hours! One of the Inland Empire's BEST restaurants!

We have dined at the restaurant before so I do recommend it but for Valentine's Day I was not very happy with the table we received. I had made reservations on 1/7. The table that we received was a table that was place in the normal walkway into the dining room. We had people and waiters constantly walking by our table which didn't even have a candle on it. There were several times when customers and waiters carring food almost ran into each other. I kept waiting for a tray full of food or drinks to be spilled on us. This table should have been used for the customers that didn't bother to make reservations.

  • Valentines day dinner
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 2/14/2013
We went to the Valentines day dinner and I expected more of an intimate setting not a set up such as what we had. I also would have liked more choices in wine. We requested a table by a window and we were never informed of what the set up would be and that it was pretty much first come first serve in that aspect. Overall it was ok but it did not meet our expectations.

I've enjoyed this restaurant in the past. It's always good. This time I ordered the prime rub and asked for "pink" - it was a little overdone. If we hadn't had late seating I would have asked for it to be replaced or gotten a steak instead.

This was my first time here for Brunch, and I have to say, I won't be back. In my opinion the food was awful, everything I had was mediocre and prepared solely for mass consumption. I have experienced some very nice brunches elsewhere, so when I compare them to this, this place was sorely lacking. Our waiter was funny and attentive, but since it was a buffet all he had to do was refill the water and champagne glass. Lesson learned.

Me and a friend went it and even with a reservation at 8 had to wait for a table to open up as if we did not even make a reservation beforehand. We finally were sat and no waiter came to take even a drink order from us. Three gentlemen came and sat 20 minutes after us and were served before a waiter so much as looked at us. We immediately walked out and decided it was not worth spending our time and money there. It was the worst experience I've had at any restaurant I've eaten at so far.

I took my brother and his wife here for their birthday on a Saturday night. I was a little bothered that we had reservations and it still took them 10 minutes to seat us, even though the walk in wait was only 15 minutes. The food was very good. I had a filet mignon that was wonderful. The salad bar was also very good. Everything was clean and very fresh. I gave the service 3 stars because our server forgot a couple times to bring our drinks, but she was very nice. I will definitely go back there. We weren't seated at a window, but very near where we could see the night light view. Overall a very good experience.

He never indicated that this was a bother, on the contrary he handled each request with a smile. He also offered good suggestions as to food choices. We had a wonderful evening and plan to return again.

Considering I made my reservation at least a couple of weeks in advance, I thought I'd be given a wonderful table. Wrong! There were only 5 of us, we were put in a banquet, overflow room, in the back, with not much of view, which the view is one of the reasons we chose the restaurant. It was not in the regular dining room with the great view,I was embarrased since I recommended the restaurant. Huge disappointment. Food was ok. Not recommeded!

Great view and attention to detail inside the restaurant. Overall, a very romantic and fun atmosphere. However, except the salad bar, which was quite nice, the steaks were very subpar for the price and the garlic mashed potatoes had WAY to much garlic (and I love garlic!). Also, the restaurant hires too many young people who, while friendly, are not trained well. They're there to socialize with each other more than to pay attention to the needs of the customers. I'll probably go back, but only for the view and ambiance.

Our reservation was for six people at 8pm. We all arrived a few minutes early. I checked in, and we went into the bar to wait for our reservation. Beautiful view. This was a Saturday night- not very busy here... and there was no cocktail servers. I checked in with the front desk at 8:30 to see what happened to my 8pm reservation... They said it would be a few more minutes. 8:45 we're seated. It's 9pm, by the time the server comes around to take say hi.... It was not busy, it wasn't 1/4 full in the dining area. I saw six tables in use. 9:30 we finally get our order taken. Food comes out 10pm, well some of the food. Four dinners come out, still waiting on two others. One of us ordered the filet- DON'T order the filet! Tough-tough

The ambience is the best feature of this restaurant. We had requested a window seat, which we had, and had a wonderful view! The fire pit was delightful as the evening was a little chilly outside. The salad bar had a large variety of choices and was well stocked. I got the chicken with Pomona sauce which was tender and very good.

I was there for almost 2 hours and I saw her maybe 4 times. She failed to mention small things such as the lack of refills on my lemonade that I ordered; when I saw the bill I was highly upset. Parking which has always been free had non-optional valet, and the valet prices were not visible or available. It was a cold night and there was no heat lamp outside as you waited in line for your car. I also informed them in my reservation that I was coming to celebrate a birthday and there was no happy birthday sung.

Good place to go for Sunday Brunch... or for large gatherings. They do a good job of accomodating large groups. Service was 'ok'.... nothing spectacular. Our server was fairl non-existent and forgot drink orders but since we were busy catching up with friends it didn't bother us that much. The food is pretty good.... I wasn't overly impressed with the preparation of the pre-made dishes. But the omelet station where you get made to order eggs any way you want.... was really good!

Review for TG buffet. Good food variety, which is great. I didn't like walking w/ my food across the other side of the dining rm & pass through the tiny vestibule w/ people breathing on my food. Same foods should have been on it's own side of the dining rm to eliminate all the walking of people back & forth, thus helping w/ the noise level as well. Putting the napkin over the food container entry was good to help protect the food. There should have been a few choices of beverages included in the price other than hot apple cider. Never told milk was $4 until the bill came. Cheese enchiladas were good. Turkey & green beans could have been cooked in chicken stock for much more juicy flavor.

Our night was off to a great start and would be completed with great food! Let me just say the food was great! It's official; I've become addicted to their cheese bread.I am a hardcore cheese fan and just having a basket of their cheese bread quenched my daily dose of cheesiness! For my dinner entrée, I selected the baby back ribs with extra BBQ sauce!YUM!I was literally licking my fingers and savoring every bite. The reservations were for 5:30, we got seated late. The food was delivered in a timely manor, not rushed. Waitress was attentive. Minor error on appetizers, we got the wrong order and the manager removed it from the bill. Nice place to visit for a night out to celebrate. About the serving size, small portions for the price, could use more items on the main course to spruce it up. Salad bar was nice but my wife did not like eating out of a pie tin... a plate would have been more to her liking. We celebrated a birthday, the waitress sang - thought there would be more people. It was a great time at a nice restaurant on a rainy Saturday night. We enjoyed it and will return again.

Overall, this was a decent place to eat. The atmosphere is fun "gold-miner chic" and the view is excellent from the top of the hill, which always lends itself to a nice romantic evening. I would rate the service as fair to good - could have seen our waitress a little more. Side note: they have several upper banquet rooms for groups to celebrate special occasions. We recommend the salad bar for its very tasty clam chowder (I think there was real seafood in there and not just potato soup trying to trick me!). The cheese bread is good, but they say they're famous for it and I'm not really sure it rates that praise. I had the Cajun Halibut, which was decent, though it too didn't blow my socks off. My wife had the Filet Mignon and loved it.
