First time dinning at Celli's Osteria. We went for a Valentines dinner. Wow the food was divine, atmosphere wonderful, fantastic wine but the absolute best part was the outstanding and friendly service. We will definitely be returning and often.

I ordered the linquine and clams which had absolutely no taste. Needed to add lots of cheese and salt to give it any flavour. Interesting - when I asked our server for the salt she said "tastes a little bland?" - like she knew. Wine prices are also very high. Even though service was good, not enough to bring us back. Too many other good places in town.

WHILE THE FOOD WAS GREAT SERVICE WAS DISMAL. 15 MINUTES TO EVEN be offered a glass of wine is unacceptable. I dine out weekly and while the food was great the lack of attention by the server lowered any desire to return. A shame for a great chef to be destoryed by terrible service

We enjoyed a Sunday lunch with friends at Celli's Osteria. Panini and soups and salads were lovely, service was excellent. We especially appreciated the attention to a guest with celiac disease. The server was knowledgeable and helpful; there were many options on the menu. When a request was made which the server couldn't answer, she quickly consulted the chef and came back with a positive answer.

Unfortunately we had a table in the middle of the front section - luckily not too much traffic (new years meant most tables would be filling up after we left) or it would have been pretty cold with the front door opening. Service from the 'helper staff' was very nice (unobtrusive, but making sure water was filled, plates cleared). Waiter not terribly friendly - felt like we were bothering him, frankly, and when the food was brought by other staff they were very abrupt and didn't bother to find out which food went where, instead impatiently demanding 'who had this'. Food was good, but not for the money - three of us totaled $150 with tip. For a special night out we expect to pay around this, but it didn't really feel all the special.

The restaurant has a fairly small menu but on the two occasions I've been there the food has been excellent. Portion size is good; not small but not so much you're straining to finish. Inside the place looks classy (though you don't have to dress up) and the chairs are quite comfortable. Can't comment on the wine list, as I was not in a position to enjoy a glass (had to work right after my meal both times). Service is pleasant and unhurried; almost a bit too unhurried on my last occasion, when I had a limited amount of time for dinner, but luckily I got out the door more or less when I'd hoped to.

The restaurant is pretty, lights are dimmed enough to be romantic and lively, you're able to read the menu, too! I recommend listening to your server, Jamie (sp?) and his lady-server partner, and order at least one of what he's suggesting. We went with one appetizer, one main and the wine. Did not regret any! Each of us ordered different things in appetizers, the special mozzarella salad was out of this world/arancini/calamari/mushroom bruschetta all awesome, the branzino was excellent, the vongole pasta with add-on scallops, Mennonite chicken and organic salmon, all exceptional! We ordered different sides, too, gnocchi was perfection! All in all, I hope they won't change a thing and continue to be as splendid as they are now!

The ambience is very nice with elegant décor. Food was good particularly the mushroom pasta (creamy sauce was just right and lots of mushrooms). White fish dish was good but rather small portion. A comment re wait staff: one kept loudly interrupting our conversation with little consideration as to whether someone had finished what was on their plate. The other person said "excuse me" when approaching the table and seemed to appear as needed rather than being intrusive. Was also more helpful with food selection. Would come again but food varies according to dish. Pasta dishes seem particularly good.

Decor is modern, lots of glass. Service is excellent. Food is good not exceptional. Overpriced for what you get. Osteria atmosphere means tavern. Celli's offer pizzas, pastas, to regular Secondi's. However, it has one of the priciest wine list for a restaurant that serves pizza, with a page full of bottles selling for 300-$500 a bottle. Rather pretentious, which was a huge turn off. Who the heck is going to order a $500 bottle of wine to go with his pizza?

My husband and I certainly enjoyed our dinner. We found the food was excellent. Our server was very attentive and quick to respond to any of our requests. The only thing we were a little disappointed about was the gentleman that served the wine. We had hoped he would have spoke more of the wine selection that we had made. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

I have often found that if I go to an upscale restaurant (being only 21) I receive sub par service. I have theorized that this occurs because they probably think I won't tip them enough to make it worth their while. From the moment my friend and I walked into Celli's we were treated exceptionally well. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my experience and will definitely be returning.

Celli's has a very rustic Italian menu and fresh ambiance in the downtown core of Burlington. Our waiter was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. With his guidance, we chose the interesting and tasty bruschetta combination of three selections of two each of the rabbit combined with cherries, mushrooms and goat cheese, and cherry tomatoes with almonds. We shared favorable caesar salad and prosciutto di Parma pizza and we had just enough room to add coffee with tiramisu dessert. This was an excellent dinner and we will be returning again.

Professional and friendly wait staff--not trying to rush you or pester you, but making sure you well attended. You do pay more for better quality though, so be prepared for a $125 + dinner for 2.

The food was great, and although I'm sure beer isn't the highlight, it wouldn't hurt to have more than 3 options. It was only slightly disappointing, but disappointing just the same. Neither my date, nor myself felt like wine, but didn't have much choice... We survived, and when we were done, we went to another local restaurant/bar for a beer.
