A word from Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant
Located in the heart of South Boston, Lincoln is a classic American tavern that offers guests a welcoming combination of home-spun, American fare alongside a wide variety of rustic, wood-fire-grilled specialties.

Built with the intention of being a comfortable meeting spot for locals looking to share stories at the end of their long day, Lincoln draws inspiration from it’s surrounding, hard-working, and uniquely American neighborhood.

Revitalizing a nearly forgotten West Broadway space that at one time housed the area’s only department store, Lincoln feels nostalgic. It’s open-air, tiled-floor cafe, grande bar, and soaring, original tin ceilings remind us of a time when dining halls and supper clubs were a way of life.

Took my girlfriend here for our one year anniversary. We had our first date there and we've been twice since. Every time, she's excited to go because she wants to try the "Lady Lincoln" but they're always out. After making reservations, I called ahead to ensure it would be available and was told it would be. When she ordered it, it was not. She returned her second choice of drink because it was too sweet. Love the place... but she was disappointed.

Typically, we have a great experience, but this time things were less than great. They did not honor our reversation so we had to wait 10 mins which was fine but somewhat puzzling. Upon waiting at the bar, I sent back two glasses of wine that were either previously opened bottles with turned wine or just bad wine. Both tasted off. The third glass was fresh, but was not very good for the price. Food once it finally came was good. Waiting for the food and sipping on not good wine while listening to a loud bar scene made this experience less than what we expected.

My family and I, 5 in all, went to the Lincoln Tavern for the first time for dinner on a Sunday evening. We chose the Lincoln for its great reviews and we were not disappointed. Nice staff, great service, the food was excellent and the prices very reasonable. We all had something different. Getting high marks were the short rib with mac and cheese, and the scallops. Will definitely return. Recommend highly.

Went here for the 2nd time because our first experience was so good. The staff is so friendly, laid back, offers suggestions for food choices. We ordered the Kobe beef sliders and they were simply perfection! Cooked perfectly with a fried quail egg on top, which I wasn't sure I would like. But the egg was cooked the way I like it. I got the same dish as my first time - the short ribs and truffle oil mac and cheese. The meat was incredibly tender, and they changed up the mac and cheese so that it still retained the rich, creamy flavor without a feeling of heaviness. My only complaint is the front room where the booths are is too noisy. If we had sat there, we would be yelling at each other to be heard. Go there, you'll love it.

Lincoln was experiencing an electrical problem which limited the menu but the restaurant called us to let us know in advance and also let us know as soon as we arrived. We decided to keep our reservation and enjoyed great salads (the summer salad is a winner) and pizzas. Our only negative was the noise level - way too much of a din for meaningful conversation.

I happened upon this spot while apartment hunting. absolutely love the "look" of it. always packed with a diverse and interesting mix of people. food is DELICIOUS, drinks are great but service is not the best. i've been here 3 times with 3 different waiters/waitresses and they are all pretty mediocre and seem annoyed to be there. the hostesses are always nice though. i suggest that if the waitstaff has better things to do, then they should definitely go do them and stop ruining what would otherwise be a phenomenal dining experience.

I've had a terrible and not so great experience up until today, one being my brunch took over an hour for no reason, so the manager gave us a gift card to come back plus comp bill. The second time I went I forgot gift card but the place was dead at lunch and the waiter was very slow. He also brought me a coke refill which I never asked for and charged me a second time for the soda not a refill. Very annoyed. This time however was great. The server was attentive and friendly. Our food was delivered in good time and was delicious. I think if it were not for this young lady I would not be planning to go back after my 1st two experiences but there are only few great eateries in Southie so we will be back again

Went there for the first time a couple of nights ago for a 5pm dinner reservation, and really enjoyed it. My friend had a 3 year old with her, and they were very accommodating. The restaurant itself is very big and spacious. The service wasn't out of this world, but it was good. The food was excellent, which I wasn't expecting for a "tavern" restaurant. Started with the tasty mussels for an app and had the seared scallop entree (delish!!). My other friend got the chicken which also looked and tasted great. I definitely recommend it!

We went to Lincoln as my husband had heard about it on Chronicle. He had a margarita pizza that had a blande sauce and wasn't really cooked. Our daughter had the chicken gnocchi, the chicken was good but the gnocchi was like mush and not edible. I had steak and ordered it med/rare and it was very rare. Overall we were disappointed with the food but the waiter was very attentive for a busy night, the drinks were good and it's a no brainer that it's appealing to younger crowds as the bar was hopping (it was a Friday night).

My boyfriend and I decided to check out Lincoln. Large, Nice scene, pretty loud but good vibe. Our waitress was nice, and quick.. I ordered the meatball appetizer as my meal. My boyfriend ordered the truffle mac and cheese. Food came out promptly and we dug right in. My meatballs were out of this world. Covered in mozzarella and marinara, over creamy polenta. My boyfriend's mac and cheese was a little too oily and the peas were under cooked. The waitress took a while to come over to check on the food. We told her the issue, she was again, not rude, just quick and said no problem, I'll get a new one made for you. The GM came out with a fresh dish & apologized. Then they surprised us with a free dessert. Really sweet touch. Check it out!

We went here late in the evening of Mother's Day and did not have to wait at all. The weather outside was awesome and the front of the restaurant has big garage-like doors that open the front of the restaurant up to outside. We had the fig jam & goat cheese as an appetizer which was so good! For dinner I had the Cajun tuna tacos with no Cajun seasoning and they were so delicious!!! My boyfriend had pulled pork sandwich with fries and let me tell you those were the best dang fries we have ever eaten. They were addicting! We couldn't stop eating them! I would definitely recommend this place to a anyone!

I brought my mom there for Mother's Day and it was perfect. The food was delicious (although it took over an hour to get the food, I think maybe the server forgot to put it in. We only had egg sandwiches...) and the ambience was great. The wait for food really wasn't an issue because the bucket of bubbles kept us occupied.

I have eaten here several times in the past and loved it! However this time the food was a little over seasoned/spicy. I ordered the grilled swordfish which was cooked to perfection but it was over seasoned. All I could taste was spice and salt. My boyfriend felt the same about his pork chop. He had to scrape most of the sauce on it so he could taste the meat. Perhaps this was an isolated incident. I have had such great meals here in the past that this time was a disappointment in comparison.
