Lazaranda Modern Kitchen & Tequila, offers classic and contemporary Mexican cuisine rooted in authentic flavors, giving diners the opportunity to experience the tastes and colors of modern Mexico. Lazaranda is the first U.S. venture of veteran Mexican restaurateurs Mario Letayf and Antonio Marquez. At Lazaranda, Letayf and Marquez present the true flavors of modern Mexico right here in Dallas.

"We are proud to bring Dallas the food we serve in our restaurants in Mexico. We invite you to Enjoy and Live Mexico," says Chef Marquez whose 30-year career has brought him from Paris to Los Angeles, back to his native Mexico and now to Texas.

"Authentic" is a word that is frequently used," adds Letayf, who has owned and managed restaurants in Mexico for 20 years. "Since Lazaranda serves the contemporary cuisine of Mexico. Lazaranda is truly the authentic restaurant that many others claim to be."

The food was amazing. The server told us what she thought was great on the menu and we took her advice and are very thankful we did! The food is spicy which I love. The service was incredible and they make sure you are taken care of in every aspect! I can't wait to go back!

The food at Lazaranda is very thoughtful, and quite delicious. It seems to really shine with seafood, but non-seafood items have delighted as well. I have not been for happy hour, but am looking forward to getting back to sample some of the margaritas available....

The entire management of this restaurant takes customer service to another level. They are extremely professional, courteous and acomodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that my group brunch was a success. Arturo our waiter did an exceptional job, fast drinks, amazing food, glasses always full .... Incredible dining expirience!

Good food, service can be unpredictable. Mostly we have good waiters and the ones that aren't are usually gone before we go back. Bar service has also been unpredictable. We've had awful drinks and others have been great. The bar tenders have not liked when we complained in the past and we noticed it in the drinks. I'm always cautious when ordering drinks here. I wish the place was less noisy, but we try to go at off peak times especially with the valet parking there is never parking on Friday and Saturday nights. We drove around this past weekend three times before parking across the street and walking over to the restaurant. We only did because we had a reservation or we would have left and gone elsewhere. This is a problem in Addison!

Ceviche appetizer was very good, and we shared it. My tortilla soup did not taste right so I sent it back - no questions asked and they took it off my bill. Our entrees were very good - I had the scallops and my husband had one of the chicken dishes.

Refreshing change from the typical Tex-Mex fare. Fried fish on a bed of mashed potatoes appetizer is really good.

  • A rather unusual menu although

A rather unusual menu although we did enjoy what we ordered. The waiter warned us the Tortilla Soup was not the usual fare and a member of our party still ordered it but was unable to eat it. After leaving we discussed the meal and we all had the same experience. Our meals were tasty but none of them were hot or even very warm which did hinder the experience. We each said we should have sent the meal back but didn't want to make a fuss.

Food and service were both great! We were a party full of picky eaters, and the staff was gracious enough to make certain our food was prepared as ordered and provided our somewhat large party with separate checks at a moments notice. Noise level and was not over-bearing, and the tables were far enough apart that we did not feel crowded even though the restaurant was full. Dishes and wine were very reasonably priced as well. Our group of friends dines out often and we will be going here again.

Had a great business lunch there. Everything tasted friesh, and this was a nice step up from your everyday Tex-Mex. Nice selction of seafood dishes. Server was efficient and not introsive, and place was quiet enough to hold a normal conversation. Loved the interesting salsas served with chips and the key limes and squeezer at our table to season our food. Great touch. Can't wait to return for dinner and drinks.

First visit proved worth the troube finding a parking space (Octoberfest was going on up the street). Great indoor/outdoor bar, good people watching, interesting mixed drink offerings (we tried 4 different margaritas and none disappointed) and food was really good. Ceviche choices set this restaurant apart. We will go back!

Delicious ceviche and shrimp cocktails! The staff is so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our entrees took a little longer to come out and the manager brought us ceviche to hold us over. We were so stuffed from the appetizers so this was not a big deal, but the ceviche was the best I've ever had. The cheladas are perfect! We will be back!

Great drinks! I enjoyed my Paloma and my husband had a cucumber mint margarita-very refreshing. The salad I ordered had grilled veggies on it-tasted great! My husband got bacon wrapped shrimp-he enjoyed. This is a modern Mexican food restaurant, so it's not tex mex cheese enchiladas, etc. It seems to be seafood based for the most part. I would request that they have more vegetarian options, as I am vegetarian. Hence the reason for the salad. But, the salad was very good! The flan was great also.

This place has a wide variety of salsa from mild to super spicy. The tortillas are the best (although I would prefer a little larger). And the stuffed skirt steak has a superb balance of guacamole and seasoning. Give this place a shot. You will not be disappointed. Oh yeah, the price is right to.
