  • Great Dining in Attleboro!
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 11/3/2012
My wife and I made a reservation for 6pm online. When we arrived we were seated promtly. The overall atmosphere was elegant. Our waiter was Bernard and he was outstanding. He knew the menu and specials like he created them (all of the ingredients, how they were prepared, spiced, garnished). The service was flawless. We received our drinks and ordered appetizers. The appetizers came out in a timely manner and were excellent. When we finished our salads came out shortly after and same with our entrees. You could tell the food was prepared to order and the presentation was great and above all delicious. The only drawback was the seating was a little tight, but I guess that is to be expected in an old Inn.

We always enjoy ourselves at the Colonel--the location is good, the place is very clean, staff is polite and attentive. I especially liked that the waitress reminded us that the tim was already on the bill, as we were a party of 6. I couldn't finish my meal, and look forward to the leftovers! We like it as a special occasion place for our family.

Overall, everything was excellent and we really enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere. The only negative comment was regarding the prime rib special which was ordered "medium rare", however it was served "medium well", it was still very tasty and I didn't even mention this to our server until after we had finished eating. The server asked if we wanted her to box our leftovers and our response was "no" and mentioned the Prime Rib being just a bit over-cooked and feeling it wouldn't be very good re-warmed. The server really didn't say anything at this point (no apology) and merely cleared the table. On a postive ending, we were clebrating my wife's birthday and we shared a very nice warm moulton chocolate cake they served with a candle!

I have to say I'd recommend this place, even though this particular experience wasn't the best. We were served a burnt loaf of bread, and I still can't understand why they did that. Also, we didn't finish the wine and the server told us they didn't have the "bags" to send the bottle home with the customer, but we were welcome to stay and finish it. Well, I would not have been able to drive had I done that and I wouldn't have ordered the wine had I known that. I've also not seen a particular "bag" used by most restaurants. I had also mentioned it was my parents' 61st wedding anniversary on the reservation, which they didn't even acknowledge, although they did wish a couple dining next to us a Happy Anniversary. Maybe this was just a fluke.

CB Inn has it all -great food, a perfect "inn-like" decor, and wonderful attentive service. Our party of four each chose a different item from the menu and all agreed their choice was well prepared and very good. Best of all was the enjoyabale interactive wait person. He was appropriately friendly recognizing we were willing to converse with him on a more personal level. He added to the dining experience. Also, we were allowed to linger way past what would have been an acceptable time which allowed us to "catch up" with friiends we hadn't seen in five years. Colonel Blackinton Inn is a special place that I look forward to going to for just an ordinary night out or for a very special occasion.

My friend and I had an absolutely delightful lunch at the Col. Blackinton yesterday. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server. The menu choices for lunch were abundant ranging from salads and sandwiches to regular luncheon-sized entrees, as well as a few specials. I had the grilled salmon sallad with grilled vegetables over spring mix special. It was fantastic. My friend had the shrimp scampi which she said was equally delicious. This is not my first time here. It was wonderful every time and the experience was always great each time. A great place and I highly recommend it.

Food was fresh, but nothing spectacular. Waffles and omelets cooked to order - unfortunately I think I got the first waffle of the day (which, when I do it at home I throw it away so no one gets all the oil spray)...Service was very good, restaurant was very clean and pleasing to the eye. Cut fruit was fresh and delicious, good variety of pastries, bacon, ham, home fries, etc. For cooking for a crowd as a brunch is, it was very good. I didn't see many lunch items though, generally a brunch includes a sliced ham or roast beef or turkey or some pasta/salad dishes..This was strictly a breakfast buffet.

My daughter were meeting for Sunday brunch to catch up after being many months of being apart, and this restaurant was perfect for this. We both travelled from opposite directions to meet in between our two homes and we settled on this restaurant in Attleboro after finding it on the internet. We were treated well, and made to feel welcome and appreciated. The food was good and the service was too. I'm sure we'll be coming back to this restaurant some time in the future.

Colonel Blackinton Inn is by far the best spot around. The food is always of the highest quality, wine selection is perfect, and service quality is refreshing. Above all, the ambiance is the icing on the cake which really makes Blackinton a gem. The atmosphere is that which makes you feel as if you are being served in your own private dining room. Everyone from the valet to the hostess and even the patrons you may encounter are always super friendly and make you feel welcome. Blackinton is by far the best around and would recommend to anyone seeking a perfect night out.

The Colonel Blackinton Inn has a varied menu from Italian to seafood. All of it is well prepared. They are willing to experiment too - I had the stuffed quohog appetizer which had chourico in the stuffing - yum! I usually save this place for a special occasion because it is a little more expensive, but it is absolutely worth every penny.

Took my wife here for her birthday, we dined last Thursday 7/19/12. We only live 15min from this restaurant and have never been. We sat outside and Tony Conte was the musician for the evening, he did an excellent job. Very nice relaxing atmosphere Our server was very friendly and the food was delicious and received timely. The owner even bought our first round of drinks since it was our first visit. I would advise a reservation if you want to sit on the outside patio since they only have a few tables. Great place for any occasion, they even have a private reception room that can hold up to 55 people.
