Interesting. Aesthetically pleasing. Fresh. Too pricey for our budget. We grow much of our own food and are able to prepare lovely meals at low cost. Hard for us to spend so much for even good food.

My overall dining experience was great. My only area of concern had to do with my credit card tally procedure. There was some problem with my American Express account. The server could have handled it better. My impression was not favorable on that count.

The appetizers and entrees were very good. The entrees were too large, but the flavor and presentation was good. The dessert however was terrible as it was burned. The restaurant took the charge off of the bill for us, but we still left the restaurant feeling that the burned dessert had sort of ruined the nice dinner.

We have eaten at O'Leary's several times and I recently just tried the Lobster for the first time. Previously I have had great experiences there but I found that the food thsi time was very below average. I was very suprised to find that O'Leary's is serving warm water Florida Lobsters rather than Maine Lobsters.

Was very "underwhelmed" after hearing alot about O Leary's. Was so noisy, could not hear across the table, the "views" out the lovely windows were of parking lots! Food was uneven, fried oysters were excellent as was the Key lime dessert, but the Sicilian stew had no flavor. The bbq mahi mahi was good but not better than many other restaurant dishes elsewhere. I was disappointed, especially since I was entertaining out of town guests. Over all between the noise, parking lot views and the uneven food it was not worth the price! Will not go back.

O'Leary's is a terrific restaurant. Our appetizers were very good and when one of our dinners was not quite what we expected the waitress handled it quickly and the restaurant was very generous with compensation. I would recommend O'Leary's to anyone looking for a very good dining experience in Annapolis.

wanted to treat my fiance to a special dinner at his favorite place in annapolis. this was my second visit - first visit was very nice, food was delicious. don't know what happened in the last year, but, food was not good..crab cakes were bland (tasteless - plain) the best part of the meal was the dessert & coffee. not good enough when you spend well over $100 for a meal. disappointed to say the least.

Arrived only to find a parking lot that accomodated about 20. Could not find neighborhood parking, so ended up parking at another place of business hoping we wouldn't get a ticket or worse yet towed. The service was fair, but I would not call it mediocre. I think our waiter must have been fairly new as he seemed a bit overwhelmed. We had to ask a busboy for bread. The scallop appetizer was outstanding! We might go back just for that. Our entrees were fresh and delicious. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and I would not recommend O'Leary's to anyone who is looking for a romantic dinner. The noise level of the restaurant was very loud, and with a two-topper in the center of the dining room made it louder.

I love the way you can register on-line. We were able to be seated right away. The rose in the center of the table was beautiful. The food was good for most part. My Lobster was on the undercooked side just a tad. I am used to having just the tail served. There the restraunt serves the whole lobster. The presentation of the food was outstanding! I expected for it to be romantic to some degree. It WAY TOO crowded! The are four table in a very tight spot. The other diners can easily hear our conversation as we talked quietly. I felt like I went to dinner with 6 other strangers. The waitress did a wonderful job. The operation of the restraunt ran very smoothly.

  • We have always find this reataurant
    MDFoodiesVIP
    Dined on 5/25/2008
We have always find this reataurant reliably good. On this night it was good but not outstanding. There was annoying Jazz playing in the background and our server seemed spread a bit thin. The tuna appetizer and entrée were very good, fresh and innovative. However the Fisherman’s stew, which we enjoyed here in the past, was in a very thick tomato sauce. For us, too “tomatoey” and too thick. We liked the version we’d had before which was more like stew. My husband and I split one appetizer, one salad, one entrée, and one dessert and enjoyed one bottle of wine, and bill was still over $175 for us alone. Can’t imagine what it would have been if we hadn’t shared! Would we eat here again? Yes, but based on past visits, not this one.

O'Lerys lives up to its reputation for some of the best seafood in the Annapolis area. My son who was ghaduating from the USNaval Academy wanted it to be the place for his special family and friends dinner party after graduation/commissioning. However, O'learys does not do large parties (23) so we went two days later for his birthday (only 6 of us then) and had fabulous food and a fabulous time.

I was excited to try O'Leary's on our special outing to Annapolis given the prior reviews. Unfortunately, we were not as impressed. We were seated at a table close to the bar where patrons and wait staff brushed past us, taking away from our privacy. We found our waitress to be a bit standoffish. The prices were high for what we had. The crabcakes were good, but there were some crunchy bits of shell in them. Overall, we would not return.

You know a restaurant's got to be great when a/ a non-seafood eater keeps coming back and even eats the seafood b/ your guest from Greece says the seafood's as good as 'back home'! This is definitely the place to take anyone that you want to introduce to Annapolis - or fine dining. Great wine list, inspired menu, "artistic" decor, unobtrusive wait staff and - if you're lucky enough to get one of the front window seats - great view all add up to a dining experience that keeps drawing you back, while delivering on consistent high quality.

Quaint. Our table was ready and the flowers I ordered were in place when we arrived (nice touch). Nice wine list; the food was excellent and well presented. I was told it used to be noisy, but new carpeting took care of that as I found it was quite easy to talk even with a somewhat tight table configuration. Can't say enough about the service. Our waiter was there when we needed him and invisible when we didn't. The timing of the food was perfect and the check came directly to me as requested by e-mail so there weren't any ackward moments. Certainly one of the best meals and most enjoyable dining experiences I have had in a long time. Thnaks O'Learys and staff!
