My pumpkin soup was tasteless. Not sure if it's because it was vegetarian but there was a definite lack of flavor. Where were the nutmeg and allspice spices to make it tasty? Also, the waiter shorted me on change but since I was in a rush to get back to work I just adjusted his tip to include the $2 he neglected to give me. Disappointing!

Overall very nice restaurant and I would definately go again. Raw bar was terrific. Wine selections good. Athmostphere fun. My only real complaint was the service as our waiter was fairly unattentive and not very engaging when he was at our table. It felt like our questions were a bother to him. Food was good - I got the pork chop and enjoyed it. Others had the scallops and they enjoyed that too.

This is my second visit to Les Zygomates. I had the scallops and salad Frise (again) both were excellent. My only complaint about the food would be the dessert. I ordered Creme Brulee (and this is a peeve of mine in a lot of restaurants) and it came out cold. The least they could do is carmelize the sugar just before serving so it doesn't taste like it just came out of the fridge. There is a Jazz a few nights a week and both times the trio was good, energetic and fun. Later crowd. We had seven o'clock reservations, but place did not start filling up until after 8. Good for couples and groups

We had a great dinner at Les Zygomates for my husband's birthday. The wine selections were fantastic and we enjoyed each of the dishes we ordered. The onion soup was ooey and gooey and the steak tartar was such a huge and delicious portion that I had to force myself not to finish it completely so I wouldn't spoil my dinner! Service was outstanding at the bar, host stand, and by our waitstaff. We will definitely be back with friends and are looking forward to some of the Tuesday wine tastings.

The best thing about this spot was the outstanding service. Our waiter was responsive, helpful and unobtrusive. Sadly the food was a major disappointment. It is hard to recommend a restaurant with such profoundly mediocre food when Boston has so many wonderful restaurants. It was a pleasure though to sit here and be served. Good spot to go to for a glass of wine. Go someplace else for the food.

Les Zygomates Wine Bar Bistro is an excellent restaurant with a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the wine selection, the information from their Sommelier regarding the wine, and of course the food. We ordered the escargot to start and the beef short rib bourguignonne and steak frites with a bordelaise. The bourguignonne was amazing, tender and well flavored, the steak, excellent taste, cook and quality. The desert options and after dinner drinks are not lacking either. We will certainly be back to enjoy the food and wine again.

  • Rude server/otherwise great.

Overall a great place. Friendly hosting, bar, etc. But I found to be the server to be quite rude. He clearly wasn't pleased to serve a bachelorette party - though we were a tame, polite group. He asked the group who wanted red wine. I said I did. He said "You have a full glass (i didn't) and he wanted to fill for those who didn't have wine. Only 2 people wanted red. the rest wanted white. He also talked down to us (Girls. Girls!)And gave the bachelorette the wrong dessert. He didn't check in with us to even find out that he had given her chocolate cake instead of profiteroles. Most of the party thought the dinner experience was great. As the person who set this up I was slightly offended by the experience but overall mission accomplished.

Overall, I thought the food was very good, although not exceptional. The fried oysters were great, and my steak was cooked nicely. My wife had the vegetarian option, and her harissa was so spicy that it was practically inedible. The portion sizes were quite large as neither my wife or I could finish our entrees. I thought the service was good, but a little slow. The price was good for the prix fix for restaurant week, but it might be a little pricey if ordering a la carte.

When we were there, there was a table of unruly children (climbing on the booths, playing in the halls, etc) which took away much of the ambiance. Found this a bit unusual because it is a wine bar. Otherwise service was very good.

We went for restaurant week because of their menu. I was able to have escargot, bluefish and chocolate mousse all in one night! Delicious! The bluefish was perfectly cooked so it wasn't fishy at all, as some tend to be. I would recommend to others.

We were a party of 6 with reservations and were seated immediately at a comfortable table. We had some questions about the very interesting menu and our waiter answered all with aplomb. The oysters were great, the blue fish was great, the couscous was great and the beef as great. We sampled several deserts and loved them all. Go there and eat! You'll love it!

We came for their jazz, which they have Tuesdays through Saturdays. We should have checked their calendar ahead of time to find out that jazz was canceled that night for a private event. The restaurant serves great food and has a nice environment. I've been to their jazz night a couple times before, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Service is generally wonderful. Perhaps my only negative on this visit was that the waiter seemed a little disappointed that we would not be ordering any alcohol that night.

It was not crowded, but our waiter had a large party and kept forgetting about us. It took almost 30 minutes from the time we were seated to get a basket of bread. We ordered a cocktail and a beer, which took almost 15 minutes. The cocktail tasted watered down and the beer was flat. No joke. Stick to wine here. Once our apps arrived and we ordered a couple of glasses of wine, the pace of service normalized. The roasted bone marrow, steak frites, and boef bourgognone were all tasty. We opted for no dessert.
