The entire experience was just wonderful. When we arrived we were sat in a smaller room inside and our table for 2 was about a foot from the table of 4 to our right and another foot from our table of 2 to our left. We wanted more privacy so when the table of 4 left they accommodated us Imediately by putting us by the window where the table of 4 was. Our waitress was awesome, overall everyone was very friendly. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and boy was it tasty! I highly recommend the tequila chicken. The ambiance is very romantic and has an intimate kind of feel. I have also been here for brunch with my girlfriends and the food and experience was just as great as my dinner experience,

...Less so for my mom and dad, who did not expect the owner of a nearby pooch to pay so little attention. Allowed him to wander over and rear onto my dad's armrest (while he was in the chair). Less so, too, for an elderly couple who exited the interior seating area and received a loud barking-at. ...Probably not genius to go on Super Bowl expecting the ambiance of the former (beloved) Lamont Street Grill. ...That said, the food enjoys a remarkable and dramatic presentation AND we had an exceptionally wonderful server.

Went there for lunch on a rainy day, and wished it were sunny - the outdoor patio area was so inviting. Will go back another time with better weather. The food was yummy and well priced. The indoor seating area though has no soundproofing, and was quite noisy.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 1/23/2013
I could not read the wine menu in the dining room since it was dark, so I asked the waiter to read the wine menu for me. I didn't realize that the glass of wine that I selected was $13.00 a glass which I consider pricy for Pacific Beach. I learned my lesson to bring glasses and read the menu myself. My dinner was $30.00, but my two glasses of wine was $26.00! Loretta Long Time PB Resident

Overall my experience at the Patio was great. I wasn't happy with the fact that the hostess didn't see our Open Table reservation but other than that, the night was great and they still had a table for us at their last available seating. We went during restaurant week but opted to dine off of the regular menu, with great recommendations from our server; like the: tuna & dungeness crab tower, baked portobello mushroom small plates & beef and bleu flatbread under medium plates. I enjoyed the ambiance, music playlist, and our server was very lively. Good place to go to share a bunch with your date, or group and try a lot of menu items. I would definitely go back, and heard that I need to try them for brunch!

We've been through three of four incarnations of this restaurant site...and this one has the VERY BEST and most INNOVATIVE FOOD yet! The fact that they were jam packed on Martin Luther King Day was NO EXCUSE for us to have been seated (with reserations)at 6:30 then wait to be served after 7:30. But it did not stop there...items came out much after that..Our dinner guests sat without as we sat with a few of our plates. Of course, we didn't feel like starting before and in front of them! I am assuming the restaurant owners are food professionals who would otherwise understand meal prep and timing, and to never let a customer sit that long no matter how wonderful the food. I do hope this is corrected...as this could be a real neighborhood gem.

The Patio is a very exciting place, a good reincarnation of Lamont Street Grill. Here are the main points: 1. Interior and the layout of the restaurant is interesting - I ate in the Loft room which I found to be very attractive 2. Service is excellent - good attention and the right amount of attention 3. Food and wine menu - eclectic menu that breaks the monotony of eating out, enough things to try out next time 4. Quality of the finished product - hit-or-miss. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. My grilled grouper was like leather - toatally overcooked and dry. The server immediately agreed and suggested to excahnge with salmon - which was perfectly cooked. The grilled ceasar salad was also spot-on.

My wife and I were regulars at Lamont Street Grill, and this was our first time at The Patio.I really missed having the great neighborhood restaurant since the closing of the original establishment, but I am glad to see that The Patio has lived up to all of my expectations. We had 6:30 pm reservations on a Saturday and we were promptly seated when we arrived. We were greeted with a warm smile by all staff members on the way to our table.Brittany was our server and she displayed excellent customer service skills that including making well thought out recommendations. She was visibly busy with a full section of guests, but we always felt that she took care of all our needs. Great job Brittany! Consider ourselves future regulars at The Patio!

First time here. The bouncer at the door should have been a dead giveaway that this is a party place and not a place to eat. Also this place needs a dress code. Who likes to sit next to a freak with cut off sleeves for dinner? Raise your hands, come on, raise 'em up. Noisy. We left after a plate of cheese and bread. Yuck. We will try brunch here though in a more subdued environment and when redneck willy with no sleeves is sleeping off a night of booze fueled partying.

We'd heard good things, but were extremely disappointed. We went during Restaurant Week to celebrate a birthday. I had the Tequila Chicken. I've had better chicken at a fast food joint. The service was the real disappointment. It was hard not to take offense at his demeanor, but when we asked (after dinner) about the dessert for the birthday girl, we were told that the birthday thing was a 1/2 glass of wine. Why didn't he say that when he was first told about the birthday before we'd looked at our menus? Then he argued over how many 1/2 glasses of wine we'd ordered. He admitted that we were right about what we'd ordered but insisted that he brought us more (he hadn't) and so charged us more. He even brought out the 2 sizes. Insulting!

We had an early seating on Sunday evening for Restaurant Week. The waitress was very friendly but was not totally conversant with the RW menu. The four of us each had a different appetizer and all were very good especially the shrimp dish which was almost the size of an entree. They have done a total decor makeover from the previous Lamont Street Grill days, clever and creative. The bar and patio areas seem a bit crowded and noise level is high but inside, where we were seated, was nicely condusive to carrying on a conversation. Looking forward to returning to try out the regular menu where there are some noteable offerings. Overall, our experience was very positive. Do kinda miss the tree in the patio though.

I highly recommend having dinner here. I was told they have a brunch with pups which we will be trying soon.

This was our third time at The Patio, and I was somewhat disappointed. Our 2starters were not as tasty as they were the last time-- the short ribs were very fatty but the sauce was tasty. The flatbread boeuf and blue was crisp but the beef was dry and the cheese too chewy. My entree of the jandori chicken was really dry and tough, as though it had been under an infra red lamp too long. I hope this was a one night glitch, but the reception desk also screwed up the reservation and we had to prove to Open Table that we did keep the reservation.

Presentation of food was beautiful, but the actual favors of food was not great. My husband and I each chose a special, steak and sea bass. The fish was cooked nicely, however, the sauce tasted weird. The potatoes were undercooked and I was overall disappointed in my main course. My husband loved his steak and cleaned his plate. We also ordered the crab and ahi tower and it wasn't very good. It had 2 layers of diced raw tomatoes and onions (which was not in the description) and those are two items my husband does not like. I love tomatoes and onions, but it was a strange combo. It didn't pair well. The ambiance was so beautiful, we decided we will give the place a second try in the future.
