Food, service and facility was fantastic. My only criticism is there are way too many televisions in the dining area off the bar. There were other more formal rooms but they were not bring used that night.

We are 4 people who eat out a lot. We wanted to try the new Plumsteadville Inn. We ate outside and unfortunately 611 is about 20 yards away and the noise was bad. We had a fabulous appetizer, pulled pork on homemade potato chips with melted cheese and tomatoes. But our entrees were not good. I ordered panko shrimp. They were flat, dry and tasteless....probably came out of the freezer. The others ordered veal dishes which were also very bland. When you serve white potatoes with mainly cauliflower as the vegetable. All that white on the plate -sauce, potatoes, cauliflower - made the plate looked very unappetizing. They need some work in the kitchen. We did have a terrific waitress and hostess and bus people

Although the food that was available at the brunch was delicious, the selection was very limited. I was quite surprised. There was hardly any fresh fruit and no pancakes. VERY LIMITED selection fpr a pricey bruch. And the room was SOOOOOO hot, we were sweating, the waitress when we finally got her attention, opened a door and a breeze came in. My children wanted more juice and it was quite difficult to get someone to refill their cups. I like the restaurant for lunch, dinner, and drinks, but would NOT RECOMMMEND the brunch.

  • The menu has a wide range

The menu has a wide range of choices and prices (there is a less expensive Tavern Menu available in all dining areas). Our dinners were okay, but not outstanding. We were in the Garden Room which is bright and pleasant with a view of the outdoor patio, but with several tables occupied, it was noisy enough to make normal conversation difficult. Aware this was an anniversary celebration, the restaurant gave us a complimentary dessert. We may try the restaurant again for a less formal meal but will look to other choices in our area for a special occasion.

great food and great service. Tavern food menu(which is a vast selection!) ranges in price from around $10-15 and the entrees range from $15 to $30 something. The music was a bit loud and there are tvs everywhere so if your are looking for a quite, more intimate environment, then I would request reservations in the fancier (white table cloth) area.

  • Three of our four dinners
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 6/9/2012
Three of our four dinners were very good. My girlfriend couldn't eat her fish, I think it was haddock. She said it tasted fishy and the mashed potatoes very dry and hard. The noise level was a bit higher than I like it for talking with friends. But there is nothing to absorb the noise on the porch except the carpet. We couldn't sit in the more casual room with the bar as the piano player drowned out our conversation and the TVs were distracting. Our waitress came to take our order when she hadn't even taken our drink order so we had to order all at the same time. I had been there the day before for lunch and the waitress was a bit overwhelmed. So, I wasn't impressed with the service of the staff.

This is the restaurant my wife and I got engaged. It was our 30th anniversary. Was very disapointed. The inside does not match the beautiful building. The food was not bad but it was a noisey place with bad service. It started when we were ignored at the hostess stand.

  • Not a fine dining establishment
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012

I would recommend going if you are looking for a pub like informal dining experience. We tried to go to celebrate a special occasion and sat in the more fancy dining area. Big mistake, the new owners have to decide if they are going to shot for a fine dining restaurant or just be a tavern style restaurant. Every time the servers come out to the dining room they come through the door from the bar which plays it music very loud. Which makes it very hard to swallow paying $30.00 for a dinner selection vs. $12.00 for a tavern favorite meal. Filet was not cooked well, flavorless, and served with cold vegetables. I will go back to try the tavern experience to see if they get that right, but I will not wear anything special and expect good service

This was my first trip back to the inn, in many years. It was always a lovely building and the food was excellent. Seems it has changed hands a few times, but is back and we wanted to try it. The bar was always my favorite, with its beautiful old wooden booths. They are still there, but each booth has its own HD TV, and many more TVs dot the old charming bar. Guess it is now a "sports bar", just what we need another one of. Food was mediocre, at best. I can usually judge a meal by what the salad and bread is like....and neither were anything special. Food was OK, but no better than a chain restaurant....I was expecting more. Service was good considering the bartender was serving us, and the bar. We won't be returning.....

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

Great restaurant, great food. My only comment is the restaurant should decide if it is fine dining or casual. Based on the appearance and the fact that they had valet parking one would assume it is fine dining. However, the servers in tee shirts, the paper lined bread baskets and tavern-like menu would say otherwise. My only disappointment was paying $6 for my kids' $.69 boxed macaroni and cheese. Although, they were happy with it. Our meals were pretty good though and that's what matters most. We would dine here again.

Great turn around for a historic restaurant. Burgers and wedge salad solid dishes. Try to get a booth as the tables are out in the open dining room reverb with 3 dozen conversations and a talented piano player and 5 big screen TV's playing 2 games. Some of the italian dishes unremarkably reflective of other pizzarias in the area. But the bar needed to communicate better before pouring a draft that was a poor substitution. Cocktails came out inconsistent too. Newly trained waitstaff was friendly and he tried and apologized frequently, but needed a few less busy nights before trying to handle a saturday crowd. He gets a A for effort. Bread pudding a great end to the night. Will wait a while to see if this place grows up.
