Went to Bluehound on a Sunday before a Suns game. Other local establishments were closed for whatever reasons on a Sunday which allowed our party of 8 to try Bluehound for the first time. Located in PHX City Center and the lovely Hotel Palomar, Bluehound does not disappoint. Our table was waiting for us and the service was outstanding. Fun, creative drink menu and good wine and beer selection. Bluehound combines great high-end comfort food with a great atmosphere and choice of indoor or outdoor seating. If you don't want to put up with the Fox Concept hype of the Arrogant Butcher, step next door to the Bluehound for your next outing.

Fabulous decor inside. Really cool place. They had music, ( a very talented guy on guitar/vocals ) which was great. But from the moment we sat down, the service was slow and the food took 50 minutes to be served. The restaurant was not busy what so ever, so there was NO excuse. Just another example of a restaurant with poor to no management. It seemed like the place was being run by a bartender, on waiter, and a cook..... So much potential, but they don't take their fine establishment seriously. The "bottomless" Bloody Mary seemed to be mostly mix, next to no vodka.

The restaurant served a prix-fixe menu, so I'm not sure my experience is representative of their usual, so take this for what you will. The first course was oyster and sausage which needed more than 3 small rounds of toast. Next was a very nice lobster and avocado salad that needed some acidity. The 3rd course was a foie gras creme brulee The combination of foie gras with the egg custard resulted in a cheese-like consistency with no taste except for a meaty sensation. 4th was a steak which was nicely done, though the choice of a dauphin potato seemed odd. Finally, desert was a chocolate ice cream heart which was grainy. Overall, every course had some minor flaw, and the 3rd course was awful. I wouldn't return based on my experience.

This was such a disappointment! The setting was lovely the food was terrible and the service marginal. The first course was tasteless, we had no idea what the second course was but it tasted like Crisco with salt on it! Horrible! The lobster was like rubber and again tasteless. The steak was the best part but not very good.

Stopped in for a quick meal and drinks before the Suns game. The waiter was very helpful with food selections and mindful of our schedule without feeling rushed. We all chose from the appetizer and salad menus. Everything was flavorful and properly portioned. The downtown location is great with a good view of the city from the dining room. It was a little cold for outdoor seating but the patio area looks great, we'll try it when it is warmer.

One of the menu options (if your whole table agrees) is to have the waiter and the chef prepare a 4 course meal with 2 drink pairings - all their choice. Our party of 5 opted for this and were NOT disappointed. It was phenomenal!!! We had such a great time and the food was heavenly. Be daring and let them decide for you!

This was a great choice for a quiet Sunday morning brunch. After we were greeted and promptly seated by the host, our waiter allowed us enough time to take in the ambiance. The service was outstanding! The waiter greeted us by name and kept the bottomless Mimosas flowing. My son enjoyed the Shrimp & Grits but was still hungry when he was finished, we noticed that the table next to use ordered the same dish but added a side of bacon and eggs. The Chicken & Waffles were plenty and delicious! There was live music from a solo singer with his guitar, this was a pleasant touch to our great brunch. There's a few dishes on the menu that we look forward to trying, we'll be back soon with friends.

I picked Blue Hound because of its location (walking distance to Symphony Hall) and its eclectic menu. It's a little noisy but we still could have a conversation. The brussels sprouts caesar salad was delicious! They have a lot of special cocktails which my husband appreciated. The service was excellent, and our waiter could tell us exactly how each dish is prepared.

I took my wife and my in-laws here Friday night, my mother-in-law being a vegetarian, I was very impressed with the Garden menu, which didn't just have salad for the non-meat eaters. I on the other hand had the Short Ribs, that were fall off the bone tender and would satisfy any carnivore. We past around everything to try, because it was our first time at the restaurant and everything was really impressive! Make sure to try the tater tots!

A little skeptical due to the location being in a hotel but friends who live in PHX were very enthusiastic about the restaurant. Other than being on the loud side, we all greatly enjoyed the experience. Short rib was the big winner in the main dish department. Great fall off the bone meat and the combination of bleu chees grits and pineapple side dish was a delicious compliment. The cauliflower appetizer was also popular for our table along with the deviled eggs. Deviled Eggs were basic, nothing "new and cutting edge" attempted and appreciated by all of us. Waiter was very friendly and helpful, we had lots of questions which he answered without any hint of attitude. Will definitely go back next time we are in Phoenix!

The strength here lies in craft cocktails. The list is interesting&creative, & they go down almost too easy in a great location & fabulous decor. The food, while trying to meet the same criteria as the drinks, failed for me - it's just fairly average. I ordered all small plates & I did appreciate that every appetizer had a size/portion option. I had deviled eggs (my least fav, no taste), pork belly sliders (Hawaiian sweet bun overwhelmed the small portion of pork), the table shared tater tots (didn't do it for me, though I could the novelty) & flatbread (probably the best flavored of the items, but it lacked inventiveness) & the brussels sprouts salad (good but really just cold brussels sprouts with dressing) my advice, drink up & move on.

Patrons were dressed well, décor was modern, and the food & service was excellent. The only negative was the noise level of the crowd--hard to carry on a conversation--not a good romantic venue, but fun for group dates, Parking was expensive (valet 12 dollars and a half hour wait to get car because of traffic). I would recommend trying lots of appetizers--sharing is fun and delicious.
