This was my second visit to the Carversville Inn. My first visit was only a month ago and my husband and I enjoyed it so much we had to go back again! The food is outstanding!! I can not believe I have lived in the area for so long and I never tried this place until a month ago. I guess it was the "old inn" thing that scared me off. I have done the Black Bass Inn (terrible food), the Lambertville Inn (dreadful), the Mansion Inn in New hope (mediocre at best), the overrated Inn at Phillips Mill. Ugh!! This restuarant has much higher quality food than any Bucks County (and a lot of Philadelphia) restaurants. I highly reccomend it!!

We've been to the Carversville Inn numerous times and it has always been a lovely experience. It's a favourite "go-to" place for locals and a wonderful discovery for travelers. The atmosphere is friendly, quiet and timeless. Food offerings include some game, standards with interesting twists and wonderful soups. There is a full bar, separate from the dining area, which is convivial but never noisy. A great place to dine and actually hold conversations.

my favorite local (country) place which is casual but lovely; one can never find anything wrong with it! it's charming and pretty with delicious food and a lovely staff! when james is our server, we don't have to do a thing but enjoy the food! with nice weather, it's a treat to dine outside but the rooms inside each have their own charm including the few tables near the small unique bar/never noisy and very delightful!everything is delicious but lamb chops have been their specialty for years. i am not a fish eater but the mustard salmon is outrageous!i also love the chef's whim chicken! love one of their salads first since everything is fresh and tasty. cannot say enough about this gem!!

Out of the way location but worth the drive. We had the scallop appetizer & ceviche, guacamole & chips as starters. Two completely different appetizers but both quite tasty. Unfortunately the ceviche & guac needed better chips. Most of the dish was eaten with a fork. The duck entree was delicious, so tender and flavorful. James, our server, was very pleasant. Dining room was warm so the door was open to let in the cool evening air, which was nice, but unfortunately that meant some mosquitos came in too.

This quirky old inn at the crossroads of the village of Carversville (on the National Register of Historic Places) offers an interesting and well executed menu. For our first visit, we went for Sunday brunch. The Inn is charming, but could use a little work. A rather unpleasant musty smell seemed to come from the door leading to the basement. The food was delicious once delivered to the table. The service was polite but spotty; seemed like they could use a few more hands. We'll probably go back. Maybe they were having a bad day.

The setting was hard to beat, an old hotel in a hard-to-find little town on a sunny day in the country. Food on the other hand decidedly mixed. Ordered gazpacho but a while later the waitress came back to inform us it had "turned." The seafood bisque that was substituted was creamy and flavorful with good helpings of fish. Similarly for the escargot in butter. Entrees dropped off from there: shrimp and scallop etouffee mired in a dark roux, bland chicken breast topped with good pear chutney. Loved the time we spent there, not so much what we ate.

This is the fourth time I've been to the Carversville Inn, and each time it's been superb. The inn is tucked in a quiet corner of Bucks County, away from the main roads. It's an old, attractive building, with a beautiful bar room (where we ate dinner - if you want to sit in the main dining room be sure to call the restaurant and reserve, rather than go through OpenTable. There's nothing wrong with sitting in the bar, though!) Food is spectacular - scallops wrapped in prosciutto appetizer was sublime; dinner of shrimp etouffe was the best I've ever had outside of Lafayette and I'm a sixth-generation Louisianan). Just the right amount of heat and sweet shrimp meat. The wine list is extensive; service is outstanding. Go- you will be happy.

Beautiful old inn with the colonial-era works. Pleasantly worn. We found the food to be very good, though we reserve 5 stars for the "Oh my god" first mouthful. Mushroom ragout uncomplicated but tasty; eggplant and goat cheese with red sauce the same. Both were a little large for appetizers. Soft-shell crabs were excellent, with an unusual (to me, at least) sauce. Nice flavor combo. The cumin linguini was extremely rich, but also very good. Standout was our server, who was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. So, a very nice evening.

Food was outstanding. I could have eaten a bowl of the horseradish sauce that came with the Filet Mignon which was cooked to perfection (medium side of medium rare, just like I asked for). The Salmon was just as good. Server was extremely busy, but very attentive (this was early evening on a Friday). Prices were a little high, which is probably the only thing keeping us from going back on a semi-regular basis.

We've been going to the Carversville Inn for many years. It's only minutes from our home. The food is always wonderful. For our budget, it's a little pricey so we tend to go for special occasions. They do have a bar menu that's great and you can get a burger on Tuesdays. We've spent many a stormy night there with friends. It just seems like the place to be. It's very comfortable, with a friendly bar. We always run into someone we know there. Overall, it's our favorite restaurant in this area. We've tried many and always come back to the Inn. We're very fortunate to have it.

I was so happy to see this restaurant on opentable as it has been one of my favorites for many years. We dine here every 4 to 6 weeks. The inn is "authentic inn", not the staged kind. I doubt the place has changed much since the 1800's. The menu is always "interesting"...you can tell a true chef is in charge. This visit I had the escargot(I get them every visit), and the special was soft shell crab...both were "out of this world". They also serve the best quiche you will ever have. Service is always efficient and professional (thanks Nori, and Katy). Pass the chain restaurants by, and try a true, fine dining experience, where someone with imagination and creativity is preparing your meal!

Reservations for 7:15 and not a morsel of food until 8:45. Apologetic waitress explains large tables before us please accept complimentary drinks. Bill presented and drink cost is included when questioned manager can only comp 2 drinks not four. So, why offer free drink is the question? This is the second time we have brought guest's and have been embarrassed. Kitchen seems to be out of control so will be looking for a different venue to entertain. Not the Waitress's fault and we treated her accordingly.
