Very good service. Good food - more in the "comfort food" zone but very well done. A very attractive combination of good service, good food, and comfortable, warm ambiance. My current go-to place in Manchester. I could easily eat here every week and would if I lived near Manchester. It's Firefly or the Red Arrow.

Firefly is a newer restaurant that is in trend without being trendy. It is a very small restaurant with interesting and beautiful interior architectural features. The dining area can be romantic, or a fun place for friends to catch up with the intimate lighting and seating. The bar area is quaint with several high tops and a fair size bar, offering a full range of top shelf items and signature drinks. The menu offers American favorites, served with a modern twist. The food is good, but disappointing compared to the appearance of the restaurant. The service was fair with only the bar tender seeming to have any care if the customer's expectations are met or exceeded.

  • Better the first time!

While I loved the restaurant overall I felt like I was being rushed though the dining experience (the waitress came.back 3 times to see if the check was ready before we had a chance to even really look at it) my meal was extremely salty. I had the lamb shank over the Parmesan risotto and the salt level was almost unbearable. This is my second time here and the first time I loved it so I still gave 3's but my experience this second time was much less impressive than the first.

  • Good, but not great
    OpenTable Diner Since 2002

We had a nice meal and if I were close by, I would probably try them again. The food was good - not great, but good. For example, the chicken mushroom crepes were underseasoned and a little bland - they would have benefitted from the addition a spash of cognac or perhaps some herbs to brighten up the cream sauce. The corned beef hash was tasty but lacked the crispy crust that makes a good corned beef hash great. The service was nice and friendly, but we did have to chase our waitress down several times - it seemed like she kept forgetting about us. And strangly, when we asked for things like a refill of water or more butter, they would only bring enough for one person or refill one water glass, rather than serve the entire table.

The atmosphere was very relaxing and ambient. I had a glass of red sangria which was very good and refreshing. We had the Go Go Bread for an app with a little extra bread. Glad we got the extra bread, because it was so good! I got the baked stuffed haddock, and my boyfriend got the Poor Man's Pie. Both were delicious! We also each got side salads. We had a $50 off coupon from LivingSocial, but even if we didn't have the coupon, the price for the amount of food we ordered was very reasonable (~$70). We will definitely be going back, and bringing friends next time!

I've been to Firefly on several occasions for their great martinis and tasty morsels. The ambiance is very hip and modern. On this particular night, I started out with the seafood chowder and had the flash seared tuna for my entreed and both were good. I highly recommend the peanut butter cup martini - it's out of this world! Dessert and an after work beverage all rolled into one.

  • Average At Best

The food here was ok, and was not anything special. We shared the tuna ahi and go-go bread for appetizers. The tuna was good, the go-go bread dip was very lax on the gorgonzola cheese and was on the bland side. We split one of the special entrees which was a seafood casserole. Again, it was ok, some of the shellfish was overcooked. All in all, it was an average meal. Service was good, our waitress was nice and attentive. Best part was the dessert, we split the creme brulee and that was prepared perfectly.

The food was really good and the service as well. The only thing that stopped me from giving it outstanding was the table we sat at. It seemed like it was thrown into a corner just to get in another table. In an odd spot and very close to the table next to us. Not a place for intimate dining as the noise level was fairly high due to really high ceilings, but overall it was good. Will go back.

Got the go-go bread--to die for! I could have ordered a second one and eaten that as my meal! The eggplant napolean was amazing and my friend loved her baked haddock. Our server must have been having a bad night, as she was not pleasant and seemed mad at us. Made it not as great of an experience as it could have been.

my brother took me here as a thank you for some painting that I did for him -- it was quite a treat! the food was tremendous, and their drink list was very creative. Our server was excellent in guiding us around both the drink and food menus and we just had a superb meal. I can't wait for him to have more projects for me to do so we can go back!

Food was disappointing. I had the crispy half duck, which in itself was quite good, but it was accompanied by bland, tasteless white rice and overcooked, mushy broccoli. The sauce on the duck, a "five berry gastrique", was a congealed glop. Others in our group had prime rib, scallops, and haddock, and all had similar comments.
