We went back to Sea as soon as we arrived in Lauderdale by the sea to enjoy the delicious meals prepared in this unexpected location. This review, in terms of stars, is misleading. No, the atmosphere is not swanky or the wait staff effusive, but who needs that? The food is great. The atmosphere is quirky. I have been to Sea a number of times, and it is consistently delicious. It's where I take out of towers and local friends, who are shocked because they never knew of this gem hiding in plain sight.

I have been to Sea three times now. It is very small, and the menu is small. Don't let that deter you. The food is great, the presentation is lovely, the service is impeccable. The other night we noticed that all the other people eating there were "regulars", who must go there quite often, as the chef and the waiters knew them. I make a point of going there every time we are in that area, because it is such a pleasure to eat there.

I would have never known about this place had someone not told me about it. It is a tiny little place in a strip of other shops. The ambiance isn't much but the food is delicious and reasonably priced. We have been here several times and never been disappointed. They have a prefix style menu so you get an appetizer, main dish and dessert for one price. There are a few items that have an up charge but mostly everything on the menu is the same price. They also change out the choices regularly so you don't get tired of the same thing. This is a small place so I would recommend this for small groups and for you to make a reservation.

For those of us living in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and are looking for a 'better' dining experience that what is currently available at the circle, Sea Restaurant was lovely. In a small, bright & fresh looking spot on Commercial the 3 course menu was both delicious and interesting - no French fries on the menu ! Service was excellent - a fun spot for any foodie.

We wanted an intimate New Years Eve dinner for two and Sea fit the bill. The restaurant may be small, but everything about it is first class. The wait staff is attentive and we were encouraged to sample several wines in order to make our dinner selection. The food was delicious and the presentation was appealing. Sea is one of our favorites.

Loved the relaxed feel of the place and some spontaneous talk between tables. Tomato and mozzarella salad outstanding with beautiful beefy tomato a visual and flavor contrast with fresh crisp basil and the soft mozzarella and balsamic accents. The tuna bolognaise easily could have served two with generous amounts of finely chopped fish throughout the pasta and sauce; a clever combination. The nightly special of braised hog snapper was deemed perfect with a farmers market of fresh vegetables on the side an added bonus. Ordered whiskey cake for dessert at staff recommendation and was blown away. We would highly recommend this unassuming little oasis in a strip mall.

This restaurant was a disappointment right from the beginning and got worse as the meal progressed. We selected a wine by the glass and was informed it was not available. If you like Nouvelle Cuisine of the 1970's and 1980's with mini portions its back at this restaurant. The shrimp appetizer consisted of two small shrimp. The entrée of scallops were three medium ones, and the hog snapper was dry and maybe a teaser appetizer portion. The dessert of key lime pie was an individual tartlette about two inches in diameter and when it was served I felt embarrassed for the server who had to place it in front of me. The one redeeming fact was the taste of most of the dishes was more than acceptable. Late night snacking may be appropriate here.

Love the idea of the idea of "included". I couldn't resist ordering (extra) the mozzarella Stack, yum! Very fresh! Then on the starter, which was a grilled shrimp dish which was also very good. I ordered the scallops as a main course, very nicely done and tender and ended with the whiskey cake...I didn't order wine, but didn't need it with the cake (LOL) We went at 5 and had the place to ourselves for awhile, but as we ended, the people were pouring in. It is a small intimate place and I enjoyed the meal.

A great meal. Everything was delicious & the presentation was beautiful. This is a 3 course fix price meal with the price being determined by the entree you choose. We felt it was a good value. Sea is a fantastic fish restaurant. Have no fear you meat lovers.........Sea has fantastic steaks and Veal chops. All dishes prices include an appetizer, or salad, main course, and desert, hence a price fix meal husband is on the South beach diet, so Tony (owner chef) arranged spaghetti squash for him the have with his Tuna Bolognese instead of spaghetti. I had the Hog snapper grilled, so good. The bread is really very tasty, but don't fill up on it, you will not want to miss a the opportunity to eat a fantastic dinning experience. Wine is available by the glass or bottle. We always request Paul, he makes our dinning experience a most enjoyable one.

It's a very small place so reservations are important. We had to wait to sit for 15 mins even with a reservation. They have 2 tables outside, which is probably your best bet b/c they have more room! I would steer clear of the shrimp appetizer, it's was very boring.

I will probably regret writing this review because this fabulous restaurant is so small! I am sure we have driven past it 1000 times and have never considered it worth a stop because it is in a small strip area on Commercial Ave. in LBS. The attentive and earnest staff and deliciously prepared fresh food more than make up for any shortfall in ambience. One price covers your lst course, entre, and dessert. Best conch chowder I have ever had.

Inside feels more like a fish market than restaurant. Food was beyond disappointing. The food was obviously prepared in advanced and just reheated before served. The food at a chain resturant is better quality. The conch soup tadted like watered down canned vegtable. Not sure why people rated this place so highly. My only guess is because of a cattle mentality. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!

We were taking some friends out as a "thank you" dinner and decided to try Sea because they only eat seafood. We are foodies and were all impressed and pleasantly surprised. Each of our appetizers were delicious (the fish dip was some of the best we've had), as were the fish entrees. We all ordered different desserts and shared. The Whiskey Cake was moist and delicious, and we were lucky enough to get the last Strawberry Cobbler (the special dessert of the night). We would definitely recommend it and return for the food and the service. The only warning is that it's a tiny restaurant with almost "diner-like" ambiance and is quite loud, but it's worth going.

I found the food very good but over-priced for what it was and where the restaurant was and this had nothing to do with the construction. I'm used to high end restaurants but don't always want a 3 course meal-especially when trying to cut calories-found the restaurant to be inflexible in this regard-great value on half-price wine but only on the more expensive bottles. Heard lunch is better.

SEA is not a typical restaurant, it is in a row of businesses and is very small, as a consequence some tables are down the side of the bar and are under constant traffic from the servers. So bear all that in mind and then go just to enjoy quality seafood cooked perfectly. We go with that mindset and always have a great meal, the service is friendly but not polished, perhaps part of the charm. Key dishes to go for if on the menu Sea Scallops [divine] and fresh local snapper [outstanding]. The prices are not outrageous but the portions are European, perfect for a balanced three course meal.
