Our second trip to Cypress Grill and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent as was the food. We will definitely return. Also, making on line reservations helped assure that we would not stand in line as it was a Friday evening. Great restaurant. Just wish they would open one nearer to Westlake Hills.

We were there on boiled crawfish nite. Very busy. Service fast any how. Food served hot. Fried crawfish tails were great. My wife thought her fried oysters had too much batter. The two I had off her plate were very good. Guess it is a matter of taste. Glad we had a reservation which was promptly honored, even, though we were 10 minutes early. Parking is horrible at 6 PM.

Nice indoor/outdoor restaurant, there is a garage door that they can open up when the weather is nice for the outside section. The food here is really good and the staff is very helpful if you have any questions. Good size portions but I still have no problems cleaning my plate. Delicious.

  • I had the Seafood Platter
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009VIP
    Dined on 12/13/2012
I had the Seafood Platter with a double serving of fried crawfish,a single serving of fried oysters, a side salad, and the vegetable of the day (garlicky green beans). The oysters were superb - delicately fried - and quite tasty. The garlicky green beans were also the best side that I've had in a long time. Kudos to the kitchen on Thursday night! My experience at the restaurant was great, but I realized the next day that my server had not given me the Red envelope that I should have received when dining there. The customer should not have to ask for the promotional deal going on... it should automatically be offered to everyone dining in the restaurant.

The Shrimp Pasta Rockefeller was better than anything I’ve had at Olive Garden or Carrabba’s. The sauce was so creamy, not too heavy, but very filling. The shrimp were cooked to perfection as was the linguine. My husband had the monthly special Trout Meuniere which was also cooked perfectly. The service is great – quick with the refills and offer of a soda to go. There is a small bar and on nice days has "outdoor" seating. The place is small and doesn’t look like much in the strip center, but don’t overlook this gem. If I ever make it back to Austin, this is a must eat place on my list. The menu is extensive and will not disappoint anyone looking for a good meal.

Had a really fine meal here, with inexpensive wine and a very nice server. We'd go back for sure. It is out of the normal way one might travel around Austin, and we only found it using Open Table to look for a resvn on the busy weekend. Now we know its one to keep on the list for future stops.

The menu is so varied that everyone should be able to find a pleasing choice. I had the grilled chicken breast sandwich, which could easily go wrong - but it didn't. The chicken was still juicy and tender. My husband had the shrimp platter with fries. The shrimp were large and lightly breaded. When you see the shrimp know it is mostly shrimp and not breading. The waitress Sheri was great about changing the salad (spinach leaves yuck) out for another side dish at no charge. Service was prompt, refills quick and the food was great. We liked it so much we went back two nights later for something else. Definitely a place to visit for good food. Not fancy food, but real good home-cooked dishes.

Quaint neighborhood restaurant with very good food, and nice variety of menu choices. Our first time there was on a busy Friday night which was a little noisy at times, but not annoyingly so. Wine list is quite adequate for a restaurant of its size. Service is excellent, and prices are reasonable. They accept reservations which is a real plus on the weekend, and we were glad we had thought ahead and made one. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

Our meal, the five of us agreed, was good, but did not give us a desire to return. The service was pleasant and friendly, but the food itself did not taste authentic Louisiana. Several of us really like fried okra, but thought the dish was better at Cracker Barrel. The Etouffée was rather bland, and the crayfish in it and the fried ones as well were pretty tasteless. I wanted to like it, but unfortunately can not.
