This has become a go-to special occasion place for our family, but if we lived closer, we'd go alot more often. The food is wonderful; the wait-staff and bartenders are the best and the entire experience is special but not pretentious. The owners and staff make you feel like a regular even on your first time. We love this place whether it's just the two of us or a group. It's a Northwest treasure!

The food was good. A good place to go for a drink. As the name implies, lots of choices of Scotch and wine. The music was too loud for conversation and there was lots of noise from other tables.

The cheese platter had a great variety of meats and cheeses. Three of the four of us were well satisfied with the quality of their meals. The pork osso bucco had only a neglible amount of meat (about one ounce) certainly not worth $25; the sauce was great as were the potatoes and asparagus. Bread pudding was fabulous, but the cheesecake brownie was very dry.

Des Moines best kept secret. With an extensive wine, whiskey and bar list there is something sure to please. The menu is varied and unique. From the artisan cheese plates to the bison burgers to the to die for fried bread pudding. The service was exceptional and live music a wonderful surprise. We have found our new favorite restaurant in the area. Try it you will not be disappointed

We loved the food, chocolate noodles, imagine! They have wonderful prices for wine, basically a corkage fee on their reasonable bottle prices. They have so many choices of scotch, but we could only drink so much. We look forward to our next visit!

We are out-of-towners who were introduced to this delightful spot by friends two months ago. This recent visit happened to be on a Saturday night and the place was hopping with a full house and great music. Personally, we found the service very slow (the crowd was perhaps just too big) and the noise level too high. I would have been great if we had just visited the spot to drink and listen to the live vocalist, but we had actually gone for the food and some personal conversation. I missed having the option of a seafood selection on the menu or as a special....because the seared scallops I had ordered on our initial visit were fabulous and anticipated!! You are definitely worth another visit....but not on a Saturday!!

As the name suggests, Scotch and Vine specializes in Scotch and Wine. The Scotch list was far more extensive than the wine list, but the latter was ok. Food was excellent! Yummy salads and burgers. Larger entrees looked good but you wouldn't need to eat for a week or two after indulging.

They have some very tasty cocktails and their flights of wine selection was interesting. Some of the appetizers were outstanding, but the main entrees were a little small, although tasty. I've been here during the summer when they opened earlier and their flights with small plates were perfect. Dinner was just ok. Would I go back, sure - if I'm in the neighborhood. Had a nice guitarist that set the mood!

  • We went to the Scotch & Vine

We went to the Scotch & Vine because we heard good reports from family members. We found the service extremely slow and had to actually go find our waitstaff person to get our check. Our reservation was at 6:15 and it took well over 2 hours. They had live music, which was good, but so loud we could not have a conversation over it. I would suggest they start the live music later when guests are more in a party mood.

  • Worth A Stop!

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a unique restaurant, in Des Moines of all places! I saw the menu for the Dine Around Seattle, and immediately decided it was worth a stop on my regular Seattle to Tacoma trip. We were pleased that the Scotch and Vine lived up to the expectation. Particularly, many Dine Around menus seem to be a pale comparison to the real deal, and I did not believe this was the case here. The service was very helpful in helping us get exactly what we wanted. I fully intend to come again.
