A word from Zin American Bistro
Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

I love the beef stew. I have had it several times. This time it seemed more salty. My friend did not care for her selectionand should have returned it upon receiving the plate. She did take it home and took off the outer covering and enjoyed it the next day. Our witer was very nice. All of a sudden his name escapes me.

  • Always a very solid restaurant

Always a very solid restaurant with a nice menu, great food and an outstanding wine list. Food prices are reasonable and competitive with other restaurants of similar quality. The wine prices are a bit high, but are in line with other area restaurants that are all a bit high on the wine.

  • I have been to Zin about 6

I have been to Zin about 6 times and loved it every time. Great wine list as always, but the food and service this time around was very disappointing. Cheese plate came without any toast...what are you supposed to eat the cheese on? Waiter was not very friendly or particularly attentive. I suspect that the expansion may have something to do with the experience. I was extremely disappointed as this is one of my favorites in palm springs.

  • Good bistro vibe - nice ambience.

Good bistro vibe - nice ambience. They configured a table for eight down the center/rear for our group. Waiter knew his wines and pairings. I'd like to go back and try some of the other menu offerings.

One of Palm Springs better restaurants. The night we went the service was very slow. We very much enjoyed the wine list.
