I have had dinner and brunch at this restaurant and have been pleasantly surprised at the consistent level of excellent service and quality of food. Friends who go on a regular basis recommended it and we were not disappointed. It is a good sign when the owner takes the time to be there and help out.

Greeting by host and hostess welcoming. Table requested was available as was a second option. Staff courteous, friendly, professional. Seafood sampler uneven. Wine by the glass very nice. Trout excellent. Crab cakes a bit bland. Chocolate tort and pressed coffee excellent. Server top notch. We lingered upstairs well past our meal to hear the jazz downstairs and not have to be in the same room as the music. A very nice night.

  • Once again dining at Bluefin
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

Once again dining at Bluefin was a great experience. The clams casino were crispy outside and tender clams inside, great flavors. The halibut special was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicous. We also enjoyed the linguine puttanesca with grilled shrimp. Very good and the shrimp were tender and delicous. Thanks for another wonderful dining experience.

THe crab cakes were fishy, my husbands lobster was some what salty tasting and though my steak was cooked grat on the inside the out side was charred on the outside. However the Catalina Mountains were beautiful.

I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE NOISE LEVEL ON THE SECOND FLOOR, AND ONCE WE FINALLY RECEIVED OUR DINNER IT WAS WELL BELOW SATISFACTION AS I EXPECTED A BETTER QUALITY MEAL FOR THE EXUBERANT PRICE OF $27 PER DISH. I HAD BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO MY DINING EXPERIENCE AT BLUEFIN, AND I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING THAT ESTABLISHMENT TO ANY OF MY ASSOCIATES.

The wine list was light and featured mostly unheard of wines from Oregon and Washington state. I ordered the scallops. They tasted great but there were only three. Good thing I wasn't really hungry. Great piano player in the bar. We ended up staying for drinks after dinner.

Who would have thought that you could find such fabulous seafood in the middle of the desert!!! The preparation and display was perfect. The food server was very well informed, pleasant and helpful. From my glass of wine, Grilled shrimp appitizer, the suggestion of the Escamar with grilled vegtables, to the finishing touch of toffee cheesecake and rich hot cup of coffee!!! Superb!!!!

If you like seafood, this is a great spot. The bartenders can be a bit unfriendly from time-to-time, depending on who's working, but they do have a great Happy Hour. You have to eat at the bar and heaven forbid if you're one minute past 6:30--they won't give you the Happy Hour menu. We've had a few rude bartenders and actually did complain, via email, to the owner who totally ignored the email--no reply at all, which I found very irresponsible and uncaring. But they continue to do a good business. We go back and are not surprised if someone is rude to us. It's obviously a reflection of the owner's personality.
