A word from Sette Osteria
Sette is Italian for seven, the traditional "lucky" number. The restaurant design is comfortable with a traditional Italian tone, and with a great "feel and flow." Sette Osteria is a destination place for people as well as a place for people walking in the area to come in and enjoy.

Decor: Sette Osteria has an open kitchen and an action station viewable by guests. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven.

The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy Connecticut Avenue and R Streets. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is soft and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz. Guests can view the young people going in and out of the chic clothing stores Benetton and Sisley.

Maybe we were here on an off-day, but it's the worst service I've had in a restaurant in a number of years. I went for brunch and every single table waiting for food before our party was served before us and it wasn't because of the size of our party. Another party of six that was seated after us received their food before we did! The managers did make up for their mistakes, but the server however need additional training and instruction on how to be apologetic. While I can't say that everyone eating brunch at Sette that day had a similar experience, ours was bad enough that I won't recommend the place or ever go back.

We went for the Sunday brunch and were one of the first sittings. We were not attended to. I had to raise my hand to get attention after others who came later were getting served. The service did not improve. The servers had a organizational problem or maybe the restaurant had the organizational problem. The food was so so--nothing to rave about. We were disappointed with the experience.

This is an excellent italian resturant. Started at the bar and Richard was great with the drinks. He spoke highly of the wines and some of the foods. Tuna tatar with avocado was super! salmon was perfect and my friends salmon salad was also good. Excellent place. Wonderful service and everyone is nice.

Our server disappeared for 15-20 mins each time. We had to wait 40 mins to order food. When we asked for more bread while we wait for our food, he waited until after our food came out 20 mins later to give it to us. The food was great, but the service was terrible.

We were some of the first guests seated and they didn't seem quite ready for us. After sitting with empty mimosa glasses for 15 minutes, I let the waitress know and we never had an empty glass again. The portions were sized well, even though they looked small at first and the bread was to die for.

Server was very busy, so she wasn't very attentive. Food was mediocre. I truly enjoy this place for dinner, but I think I will skip brunch here. For the value, there are a lot of better brunch places in town. The vibe wasn't very friendly. They also ran out of bellini.

Outstanding brunch service. The bottomless bellini were a nice change-up from standard brunch mimosas. Simple, well done food. A little pricey, but if you can find a coupon, its quite a deal. This place is more like Dieci than Sette.

The food was delicious and there were no complaints there. As the restaurant got busy, it got very loud and it became hard to keep up conversation. Also the lights were so low it was hard to see anything. Also the server was unfriendly and she kept rushing us. She also asked us whether we wanted salad or soup with our meals in a way that made us think that it was included as part of the meal. So, we each ordered a salad and ended up adding $8/ person. The food is great but all of us agreed that we wouldn't go back, based on the service and ambiance.

The service wasn't anything to talk about. More than anything it was like they were avoiding our table. It was just two of us with brunch and mimosas but apparently that was a handful for them. I probably wouldn't go back or suggest this to a friend- and when I do find a good restaurant I suggest it to ALL my friends.

While the service was sub par, the mimosas weren't entirely OJ like most brunch places in DC and the food was fresh, if lacking memorable flavor. Overall it was a good experience, but I wouldn't go back without another Capitol Deal.

I came with a group of 8 co-workers for dinner and we all really enjoyed our food. The pizza was great and very affordable. I was tempted by the pasta, but the waitress did tell us that only some of the dishes had homemade pasta, so it is worth checking that out before you order. All in all, very good and affordable. I'm sure we'll be back.

I had not been to Sette for a while, and while I enjoyed my dinner, I thought it was not up to its previous standard. In particular, the beet salad was a disappointment, particularly for a price of almost $13. Both in quality and quantity, it was not up to snuff.

We were early and sat at the bar - good service and fun. After we sat down at our reservation time and ordered a little later, it took an hour for our meals to arrive! The matre'd was apologetic and gave us free desert. But it made the evening later than we had all planned. Food was very good once it came. Waitress also very apologetic as well. Not sure what happened in the kitchen. We noticed that other table who were seated after us were served before us - so again not sure what happened with our order. Guess I would come again??

Appetizer and dessert were better than main course, but the main course choice was a simple grilled chicken and greens. Calamari was some of the best I've had in DC and chocolate cake was delicious. Would definitely go back and try a more indulgent entree. Only annoyance was not being able to get happy hour drink/small plate specials at table. Bar area was full, so it would seem you could receive happy hour pricing at table. Were not even permitted to order and pay for wine at bar then take it back to table, which seems silly.
