When we got there, a party of eight, they sat us in a booth not fit for eight people...I requested another table and was immediately accomodated! Service was great and very accomodating, food was superb, atmosphere excellent and very classy. I recommend the salmon, it was very moist and tasty!

Chef Deb did it again!! this was a wonderful place. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here and felt all was excellent. Food was perfect - drinks in the bar before dinner were the best. All of the service was perfect. I cannot say enough good things about Vintana, so glad to have one of Chef Deb's places close to our home now.

My wife thought I should rate higher. Appetizer crab cake was nothing special, rather bland. My fried arugula salad was tasty, wife's Cesar had great dressing, however we questioned the whole lettuce leafs vs. chopped! Trout was tasteless; wife's filet trio was good.

A much appreciated and rspected chef, Debra, has indeed brought culinary excellence to one of the oldes cities in San Diego. The enire oraganization from top to bottome provide outastanding service to thier patrons and the menu and wine choices meet the demands of people who enjoy great food and wine, but just as important, a place to enjoy the company of family and friends while enjoying spectacular site and enjoying the best of food and wines. Outstanding culinary experience.

The service was outstanding. Deborah was our server and she was delightful! My husband is a bit of a jokester and she played right along. We were celebrating our anniversary and everything was perfect. The food was wonderful with the exception of the Kale Caesar Salad. I wanted to try something different and I just didn't care for it. I am not a big Kale fan and should have known better. However, if you like Kale you would have loved it! The salad itself was very tasty...just can't get used to Kale! Anyway, we got a complimentary dessert that was delicious and they finally got their Lychee martini recipe perfected! Their wine guy is wonderful and the wine selection is great. Love it that Escondido finally has a place like this!

Interesting location, well-appointed and enjoyable. My selection was something I rarely choose -- a pork entree, and I will return to fish or a veggie item in the future. This was my selection/error and my dining companions thoroughly enjoyeed their choices. Service was excellent and I will try another menu item next time.

Blackened fish tacos did not have much fish and very crunchy shell. My wife and I didn't like them and realized we should have sent them back. Onion rings had a tempera type coating and looked good from the outside, but once you bit into one, the breading was mushy. High prices for OK food.

It was a great place for our anniversary dinner. The bar was well stocked and the drinks we had were great. For dinner, we had a booth that looked out over the valley all the way to Mt. Palomar. Service was excellent, the food was delicious, and we had a great time. Highly recommend it. Suggest reservations. The only probelm was when I made the reservation online, I had noted it was our anniversary, but this was not passed on to our server. I mentioned it to her when she brought the check, and she took it back and gave us a discount.

There are few choices for fine dining in Escondido, so we (wife & I)were looking forward to finding a new place. Vintana failed to live up to our expectations for a Cohn property. C-Level and Blue Point are far better representations of their restaurants. The Good Impeccable Service-By far the best part Wine List was extensive. Quick Seating Comfortable outdoor/indoor lounge & dinner seating Strong/tasty drinks Outstanding Lobster Bisque The Bad..... This is a LOUD place for fine dining. Ambiance is too bright and utilitarian View is of Dicks Sporting Goods/mall across the street Food was overcooked to an item. Lobster was overcooked/rubbery..pass on it! Value vs. price makes this a 3 star. Kitchen needs to improve.

When we first arrived at Vintana, we were truly impressed. The design of the Lexus dealership, the various artistic touches (e.g., outdoor seating and fire-pits), and the views from the enormous third story windows, were marvelous. But then it all started to unravel. Simply put, the restaurant is in desperate need of an experienced and quality-driven service staff. The expensive wine bottle our friends brought was turned upside down, dumping sediment into the decanter, we were unable to get a single popover (Chef Deborah Scott's delicious calling card) that wasn't cold & hard, the server started to clean the tables while we were still eating, etc. The food was good, but the service ruined our experience & we won't be returning anytime soon!

I don't know what's going on it the kitchen that would justify that we wait 45 min for our food. I ordered the baked Brie for lunch & It was fabulously prepared. I will go back, I hope they have solved the problem in the kitchen!

Excellent overall. Our server, Stephanie, was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. I appreciate a server who gives an opinion when asked. The lobster mac'n'cheese is outstanding with just the right amount of heat. Do not miss the sweet corn and shrimp fritters to start. The ambience is beautiful which was a pleasant surprise considering it is located in an auto dealership. The free valet parking is a nice touch! This restaurant is a marvelous and much needed addition to north county dining.

This was my second visit to Vintana being a big fan of Deborah Scott' Menu I know I'll be impressed with the food. The setting is hidden in a gem of a dealership and was a big surprize to our guests that drive by it everyday. The service is okay ( a little slow) and the Waitress was very good. We eat out very often and rate this as one of the finer places in San Diego and the best in North County. It was nice to have Debra Scott come to our table and check on us and we had the pleasure of meeting David Cohn on our first visit to Vintana. This will continue to grow in popularity as people hear about what a great place it is.

  • The Manager is arrogant & ignorant.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 8/5/2012
Overall poor due to a very rude manager. One person in our party consume alcohol or eat food with an alcohol based sauce. The menu does not indicate the Angus Flatiron Steak is finished with an alcohol based demi. When our friend discovered this and stated she could not eat the steak the manager began to interrogate her as to why she could not eat the meal. Then continued to be rude stating she should have asked about the demi prior to ordering. We believe the menu should indicate any sauce or glaze with an alcohol base and manager should be trained as to the correct procedure in handling such as situation. I doubt if I will return to subjected to this manager's attitude. Bill Schiefler 760.480.0563

We met him at Island Prime before this restaurant was opened and based on what he said we couldn't wait for the time we could visit this restaurant. It was well worth the wait! It is so lovely and the food was so good. We are going back for happy hour and will definitely return for another night out. Debra our waitress was fabulous. Overall a great lunch experience, congratulations to the Cohens and Deborah Scott, and I will be back. On arrival at the parking area in front of the restaurant, my date said she felt like we were arriving at an airport, given the facility. Thankfully, once inside it was a whole new world. The giant windows and table configuration make for a dinning setting unlike anything else in N. County. We start with the Brie, then Ceasar. We had the Portabello Sandwich, and I had the Paninni. As I expected from Chef Scott, the quality and flavors were tob notch. At first the servers wanted to pace us a little quicker, but when I mentioned it was a liesurely lunch, they back off. Noise, with a half full room, was a little high.

Love the creativity of Deborah Scott--so many vibrant flavors and interesting combinations! Our server, Jay Tucker was extremely professional and provided very attentive service. The prawn corn fritters were delicious as was the white bean and arugula salad. The deconstructed Caesar was very good, especially the fried capers, the crouton if possible, a bit too rich--the texture fabulous. The salmon was perfectly cooked and great sides. The maple bacon pork tenderloin was very flavorful and maybe just a titch overcooked. The desserts--Mud Pie and Chocolate Pot de Creme were very rich, wonderful and were quickly finished off by our table. The setting is very unusual, the inside of the restaurant is open, simple and elegant.
