  • Food was delicious, but pretty

Food was delicious, but pretty small portions...4 prawns on a plate for $18... really?! I decided to skip that & shared the mac & cheese and the crespelle della Mamma Pina. Very tasty, but not exactly filling. Had the donut bread pudding for dessert and it was good, but I'd probably check out something different next time. Atmosphere was cool, I definitely want to check out the bar table & kitchen table for a special dinner with friends/family! While we were there, someone bought the kitchen staff a 6-pack, so they rang the huge bell at the bar & the kitchen staff cheered... pretty cool (but I only knew what was going on because I read about it in a review)...service-mediocre (slow-even to get drinks, take order, bring check). I'll revisit.

  • 1st Friday after open Beer

1st Friday after open Beer selection was wide, any beer lover will want to spend time here. Italian beer selection was good, strong in other craft beers too. We tried house beer Novello and loved it. Also tried the flight of beer, which had a theme of three beers and how they used hops differently. Food selection was definitely gastropub worthy. We shared the beef fat french fries (good), homemade pretzel nubs with beer cheese sauce (great), raw oysters (great), grilled cheese (very good), pig tails (good), house made Mortadella hot dog with cabbage slaw (very good), and finished with a surprisingly good (recommended by waiter) pistachio meringue. High energy. Decided it would be great for lunch, or beer(s) and snacks, i.e. a gastrop

  • The food was very good, but

The food was very good, but I feel like the price for the portion sizes is too high. Also, the prices for the beer for the size are way out of scale. I asked to taste the house Victory beer and they charged $6.50 without the server mentioning the charge. That's just crazy!!! The service was not up to par either. The people at the front congregated with each other and did not even say goodnight or thank you when we left. Our server was very nice, but not very knowledgeable on the beer or food. Overall, the food was good, but pricey and the service needs some help.

Disappointing food. Some good, some really bad and most so-so at best. Almost no wine selection. Will not return

  • Ok, so why the heck is Marc

Ok, so why the heck is Marc Vetri slumming it with a place like this. We tried it on the 3rd night it was open and yes the service was excellent, but I don't think there was a single healthful item on the menu. Seriously, whole pig's head? The $6 terraine was, eh, ok, and my veal sandwich was quiet good at $12 and they did substitute a tasty side salad for the chips or fries. But it was way too noisy for my taste. Ok, so I'm a bit older and the place will do well with the college age+ crowd, but I think we are one and done.

  • My friend and I went for opening

My friend and I went for opening night and enjoyed it thoroughly. We arrived a little after 9pm and there was a lot of energy filling the restaurant. We started with oysters on the half shell which were delicious and tried a little bit of everything from the rest of the menu. The dry-aged rib eye carpaccio was served with mushrooms and rosemary and very flavorful, but just a tad oily for us. My only real issue was that I couldn't try everything on the menu! We will certainly be back soon with friends to share the experience.
