A word from Quiessence Restaurant & Wine Bar
Quiessence received 4.5 stars from Arizona Republic Food Critic Howard Seftel!!!

Zagat says, "Set in a historic home with a warm country feel", this "romantic" South Phoenix "gem" matches its "magical location" with an American menu based on "local, sustainable, handcrafted" ingredients and a "deep" wine list; "impeccable service" and a "calming" ambiance.

Quiessence at The Farm delivers a truly "farm-to-table" experience using locally sourced produce, meat and wine, to create a refined rustic menu.

Tucked away in The Farm at South Mountain with a unique indoor and award-winning outdoor dining, Quiessence delivers farm-focused and uncomplicated cuisine; a delight of cheeses, artisan breads, handcrafted pastas and local produce.

The American and Arizonan wine list is accompanied by an international reserve list designed to pair with the balance of the cuisine.

  • This "slow food" restaurant

This "slow food" restaurant exceeded our expectations. Cheese selections were unbelievable, local ingredients were deliciously prepared, service was informative and friendly. The wine list was broad and the sommelier was educational and helpful. The freshly baked cookies with vanilla milk sent us happily on our way out into the beautiful gardens with a full moon and masses of stars. To top off the evening, our back porch seating included a local guitarist who sang and strummed perfectly through our meal. We're from chicago and have no shortage of fabulous restaurants. Quiessence will get us back to Phoenix soon.

Everything about this restaurant was awesome. I can't say a bad thing about this place. The experience was great. The food was great. The service was great. We will be going back in May to celebrate a special occasion. Can't wait to try breakfast.

Ambiance was excellent, so was the service, food was good up to the point of the final and most expensive dish, think it is called the second dish, it was extremely salty and overpowering. For almost $30 dollars a plate we expected a little more. I think we will stick with the lunch menu at the nearby cafe instead.

Direct from the surrounding organic farm right to the table - the restaurant is part of the Slow Food movement. Everyone there seems devoted to the place and is extremely knowledgable about both the the food and the wine list. A choice of dining inside or out, we opted for inside because it was dark and we wanted to see the food. This place is way off the beaten track, but well worth the trip.

Very special place and he food was wonderful. Vey fresh and the menu was very interesting. It is a hidden gem and I would eat there again and again. It is a little complicated to get to once you are on the grounds, but it is definitely worth it.
