A word from Thai House 530
We specialize in authentic Thai food that is good all around! Our pad Thai was voted by Bay Guardian Magazine as one of the best in the city! Our other main dishes are also superb, such as the pork leg stew, green/red curry, pumpkin curry, chicken with basil, pra ram, sautéed eggplant, chicken with cashew nuts, and our fried rice are "must have" items when dining here! As for starters, our garden rolls (made fresh), one-of-a-kind beef jerky, papaya salad, money bags, and fried calamari makes our food stand out from the thousands of Thai cuisines in the city! We are also a vegan friendly spot with many vegetarian dishes and make sure to ask our waiters about our gluten free dishes! The bar makes excellent cocktails, has a pretty good selection of beers, and a wide variety of wine that would pair well with our food! Don’t forget to check in for happy hour (everyday 3-6pm) because we have half off on beers, specialty drinks, and $5 for a glass of wine!

The food was good overall, but like so many Thai restaurants today, everything was just a little too sweet. Also, it's an airy and open space so if there is one loud table, the entire place is loud.

  • Great food in general, but...

The food was good. We had pumpkin curry and salmon wrapped in banana leaf -- both were flavored very well, although the salmon seemed a little raw. The desserts were great -- my friend had banana fritters and I had hazelnut mousse. Yum. I had ordered tea, and after a while a waiter came to offer to add hot water and took the pot away. Instead of coming back with a hot pot of water, he threw away the tea leaves. After inquiring, another waiter brought back a new pot. It was a stereotypical Mission restaurant -- hip crowd but the noise level increased as time passed...

The Service was not so great at first, the fruit for cocktails at the Bar was old and smelly so at first we were aprehensive. However, the dinner came out great, the service picked up and I would most certainly go again.

Very disappointed in our experience at Thai House. The service was rushed, we hadn't finished our appetizers when the entrees were brought out. We asked for dishes mild and the dishes were so spicy, that it was no edible.

This was a good Thai spot a little expensive but the food was good. It is not traditional Thai style but that is not what you should expect coming here. I thought for the price point the service and ambiance could have been a little better but it is a spot you should check out to see if it is for you.

This popular place serves up enjoyment! We loved the cold spring rolls and hot "moneybags" =) appetizers, the chicken coconut soup, the pineapple fried rice and the choo-chee salmon entree (atop spinach), plus Thai iced tea. Fabulous flavors, attentive and sensitive service - want to return again and again to enjoy everything on their extensive menu! If only they had valet parking ... it would be heaven.

BEST THAI FOOD IN SFO WE'VE HAD IN THE 18 MONTHS WE'VE LIVED HERE. EVERYTHING WE HAD WAS OUTSTANDING. MUST TRY THE NAKED LADIES BUT NOT FOR THE MEEK OF PALETTE. WHAT A GREAT KICK. SALMON TARTARE IS A TASTE SENSATION. GREEN CURRY, WITH SALMON, IS SUPERB. AND DON'T MISS THE SANGRIA. WE'LL BE BACK TO TRY MORE.

Food was great. Service at the table was very good. The downer for me was that we had to wait about 25 min past our reservation time for our table. I get that it's hard for restaurants to make patrons leave on time to free up a table. That said, I hope this is not the norm if they are going to take open table reservations; I hope their table managment improves. I'll definitely be going back and hope that part is better on future visits.

Amazing food. So tasty and varied in flavors. We were going mostly on Yelp reviews and the menu. It did not dissappoint at all. I will go back. My party of 7people will also go back. The food is to die for. And the wait staff was very friendly. Clean, reasonable, and generous portions. Yes Yes.

We were not sure what to expect with Thai House 530, all too often the new hipster places in the mission are all style and no substance but we were pleasantly suprized. Our server was wonderful, he was very attentive and gracious without being overbearing. The food was simply amazing. We especialy enjoyed the Tuna TarTar and the Salmon with Green Curry. We can't wait to go back.

Enjoyed this place very much. They had the niner game on which was an excellent compliment to their food. Nice selection of beer or wine. Had the pork belly and tuna tartare. Both were delicious. Will definitely be back.
