What a find! I am so glad I checked citysearch.com and found this Restaurant. It was just as romantic and the food was just as amazing as they had described on the website. The location was a little hard to find, but once we did we were in heaven.

The service and ambiance were awesome. The food was okay. The price/food quality ratio is what will probably keep us from returning for another dinner; too expensive for our blood. We may try out happy hour one of these days, though.

Don't be turned off by the location of the entrance. It is part of the Pike Place character. Great food. Wine list prices on the high side. Great for locals as the tourists have not found this long standing gem.

Overall, we weren't impressed by the quality of the food. It was so-so and something tha tI would expect of a much lower-class italian restaurant. I won't ever find myself there again.

We have enjoyed Il Bistro on other occasions as well and always find it enjoyable. It was a bit loud this time, due to several "prom parties," and the weather that day was very hot, making the restaurant a bit warm. But, the service was very good, as usual, and the food was good.

Overall the experience was good. One thing I wish was better was the communication between the flower company and the resturant. When I asked to take the flowers home with me they kind of gave me a blank stare and ended up putting the flowers in a box. I think that the service between flower vendor and the resturant could have been better. Overall a good experience though.

Overall I thought the food was amazing, it was really everything that I expected and more. I rated the food a little lower than 5 stars only because I the next time I go here, I want to try and explore more of the menu. Other than that, I would love to come back again. The overall atmosphere and mood was excellent. I was there with my significant other, and to be honest this restaurant has made the difference in terms of providing a pleasurable and memorable experience.

The atmosphere is quite good and the food was fine but we waited a VERY long time for our entree while diners who arrived after we did were served before us. There should have been some acknowledgement by wait staff - complimentary glass of wine or some indication that this was not usual.

    Raph
    Dined on 4/14/2008
Overall the food and service were good. Several caveats: 1) a second bottle of wine was ordered, and not all of the wine drinkers received fresh glasses 2) the fettucine dish did not match the server's description of a 'rich, creamy dish' in any way, shape or form 3) the bolognese dish was more filled with tomatoes than meat. On the plus side-the 'two for twenty' menu was representative of the entire menu, though the server had trouble remembering who had ordered off that menu and who had ordered off the regular menu. The portions were adequate for the prices charged. A good meal, but not necessarily someplace I would rush back to right away.

The ambience of the restaurant was very cozy although a bit dark, the background music and patron noise was too loud to hold an intimate conversation. Food however was well prepared, tasty and came in a timely manner. The Staff was aware of our time restraints and accommodated us nicely, for the overall a very pleasant experience .

The food and atmosphere were great. The service was very basic and inexperienced. The bus girls/food runners, were constantly dropping plates and silverware. We had an older man waiting on us, and he had absolutely no people skills. He was hurried and very rough. At the end of the meal we were relaxing and finishing our wine and he was pushing dessert. When told that we wanted to finish our wine and then order dessert, he said ok, but then continually circled our table to see if we were done. We we did order our dessert, he was in such a rush, he didn't give me time to order an after dinner drink. I realize that turning tables is how they make their money, but what self respecting Italian restaurant rushes the wine?!!

Our waiter was stiff in his manner and just seemed rather new to the job. The eggplant salad was so-so. The eggplant was fine, but the chopped tomatoes on top were mushy and tasteless. The dish I ordered, pork with leeks and sage, was very light on the leeks and heavy on the sauce. The pork was tender. The leeks were super shredded, about the same size as the sage. The potatoes were overcooked. My boyfriend ordered blackberry sorbet, but the kitchen ran out (We ordered at 7:30 p.m., and the restaurant didn't seem very busy when we ordered). Maybe the waiter put in our order after the large group of women (about 24 women were seated at 3 or 4 different tables near us shortly after we arrived). I do like the ambiance of Il Bistro!
