Food was very tasty and good portions. Wait staff attentive. A little noisy at first with 6 people at the table next to us, but once they left, a very nice experience. Atmosphere cozy and romantic. Back courtyard with adirondack chairs suitable for smoking cigars (which they sell) and sipping one of their dozens of high-end rums. All in all, a charming place. I would go back in a minute!

Delicious food, excellent service, and great ambiance. It's a small place so make a reservation! The bar is fun, the small restaurant is comfortable and energetic, and the outdoor patio is deeply relaxing. I'm going back to eat there again while I'm still in town - it's just that delcious.

My first visit to The Breadfruit was an awesome experience. My second visit was also very nice. Not only did I get the same waiter, but he remembered me and my friends from over a year ago. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that the food was not as good as I remembered.

We were there for the first time this week to celebrate a special occasion. The service was excellent, food was fantastic. Our server, Jose, was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and drink list. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Our reservation was at 6:15, which is relatively early for a Friday night. It took them 10 minutes to acknowledge us and seat us. Several people snuck in past us and were seated before us. Our server was not fully present, didn't look at us while reciting his 'speech', and came off a little cocky. Some of the dishes were delicious, but most, overall, we're mediocre and even a little bitter. The scallops were delicious though.

I made a reservation at The Breadfruit for Valentine's Day because I saw a nice special for couples. I was under the impression that there would be the Valentine's Day special in addition to a menu, I was mistaken. I no longer drink, but the Rum Bar at Breadfruit seemed to be very well stocked with rum delicacies and great choices. The ambiance in the restaurant was nice, but not fit for a Valentine's Day meal, I couldn't even sit next to my girlfriend throughout the evening. The menu offered only 1 choice - the advertised special of $55 per person, and was a full 4-course meal, with two options for each course. There was no other option for dining, only a $55 meal with either this or that. Food was bland, and I was left disappointed.

The food was great. Carribean seasonings made otherwise routine dishes special. The chairs are hard, it's a little noisy, and the portions are small, but would definitely go back again. The flight of rum cocktails was a fun twist on the typical wine flights.

Beside the portion sizes, the food was palitable but not all visitors to the restaurant are able to eat the food as spicy as delivered. I suggest that all entrees be available without the spices. Maybe tamed down to be eaten as tolerated. Parking is an unadvertised disadvantage. Bring plenty of quarters

What a fantastic find and I can't believe it took me so long to eat here. I brought friends from out of town and we had a wonderful time and fabulous service. Jose was our waiter and he did an excellent job. He was very informative of the menu and filled with recommendations. Mojitos are the best I ever had. I look forward to going back and trying other dishes.

I was there when they first opened and it was a great place, it seems like they are really tryinh to make it more upscale but on our visit all that accomplished was making the service slow. Got our table at 6:45 for 6:30 reservations (there were empty tables when we arrived) I guess they consider that shiek or it is thier attempt to make sure you hit the new rum bar. I doubt that we will go back again overall disapointing and what happened to the empinadas?

Wow!  We had an excellent evening.  Your nephew is knowledgeable about the food and made us feel very welcome and special. We had great food - all courses.  Fantastic scallops and avocado plantain dumplings, followed by incredible curry prawns and wonderful fish.  It is a great restaurant and we will return (with friends).   Thank you for a spectacular evening. You know, we are foodies - this is a place you can recommend to anyone and will go on our downtown list.

We got the escovitch fish for $25 and, while the fish was fresh and tasty, there was essentially nothing else edible on the plate. It didn't come with rice and beans ("peas" as they call them), but instead with some bland cabbage strings and a soup-like thing that was spicy and fermented, of which I could not have more than a spoonful. The waitress was also a bit too eager, taking things away from our table before we had finished with them.

I took my sweetie there for his birthday. The food was great, the service was good, with the server helping us with our selections, but the dining room was a bit too noisy - (it's a small, wide-open room so this is unavoidable). While the drinks were good, I found them to be a bit over-priced. I will certainly go back for the terrific mussels, scallops and curried prawns. All were a real treat and we were very much satisfied when we left.

Superb, and in some cases very spicy, Jamaican food served in a charming bistro like setting in downtown Phoenix. The well stocked rum bar that adjoins the restaurant is a rum lover's dream. Very moderately priced as well. Perhaps the best Jamaican food I have eaten.
