My daughter and I stayed at the Stanley Hotel and ate both dinner and breakfast there. We knew what to expect and it was wonderful for both of us (my daughter is 13 years old). She was the only child there, however, as all of the other dinners were adults.

Staff and service was awesome. Atmosphere was great. Drinks, appitizers, and my date's food (lamb) were perfect. My 27 dollar steak was a bit of a thin, fatty joke. l expected way better than something worse than Applebee's etc. Bottom line: I'd still eat here again, but would never order a steak.

We were experiencing the Stanley Hotel for the first time, and wanted the whole experience. We seen the dress was smart casual, which is not our style, but wanted to live the experience, so reservations were made. First, the bar and restaurant are in the same room. We waited about 10 minutes for our table listening to the usual bar talk, and then walked around a 5' wall to a table we were on 10' away from listening to the same talk. Second, we are dressed in clothes way fancier than we are comfortable in, and the couple at the next table comes in wearing jeans and ball caps. I could have been comfortable in shorts, sat in the bar, and saved money eating a burger.

All the food was appealing to look at but was bland, no seasoning at all. All flavors were safe and needed some pop. If I go out to eat and have to smother my food with salt, pepper and hot sauce for flavor chances are I will not be back.

The atmosphere is awesome at this restaurant. We really enjoyed our dinner. My husband was not real happy with his main dish (Halibut) and most of the food seemed a little too salty but when you eat the different components together the taste is amazing. We had the prawn appetizer and it was delicious.

The Cascade has a special place in my heart because my husband took me there when we were first dating, and we had a very romantic lunch. The food is consistently good and the servers are always warm, friendly and welcoming. They have some unique, old-fashioned cocktails which my husband enjoys. My only complaint on our last visit was that I added two "special requests" to our Open Table reservation that were completely missed and not fulfilled. This was disappointing because we were celebrating our anniversary.

We had a great time dining. The table was perfect and we appreciate the privacy. It really made out night. The service was spectacular and the food was amazing. We don't usually eat fancy food like that and we were a little hesitant at first but it was like nothing we had ever had before and it was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

My wife and I spent the weekend in Estes Park and we stayed at the Stanley Hotel. With Cascades located instead the hotel, we thought we give the restaurant a try; however, after looking at the prices on the menu, we decided breakfast was more within our budget. My wife ordered a 1/2 Grapefruit, which cost $5. She also ordered a side of bacon (5 small pieces) and it was $5 as well. Coffee was $4 per person with unlimited refills. I guess Starbucks has some competition! I ordered the Denver Omelet, which came with hash browns and toast. My meal was very good, but not sure it was worth $13. Overall, the waiter was friendly and the food was good. Unfortunately, like most restaurants inside hotels, food and drinks will be pricey.

It was a disappointment. I expected the Cascade Restaurant to be much more special than the other restaurant in The Stanley. We sat next to the partition between the two restaurants, heard all the noises, and had the TVs from the other restaurant right in our line of vision. I may as well have paid less and eaten in the other restaurant. It was not the dining experience that I expected and hoped for.

We both had the Caesar Salad. Instead of grated cheese there were strips that were mixed in with the romaine. Didn't talk long before we were both picking the strips out. Way too strong of a taste. Wife had the meatloaf partly based on waitress recommendation. Bad choice too much sausage mixed in with the other meats, but that could just be personal taste. I had the "New York" steak. It's funny how putting a distant name on a steak is supposed to make it better. The meat was great and cooked to order, medium rare. Service was good. The decor was very nice. The experience would have been a lot better had there not been loud drunks at the bar. The room between bar and restaurant was divided by a half wall. Not very effective at noise control.

It was several years since we ate at the history-rich Stanley Hotel (think Cascades was still called Dunraven's then.) The food has vastly improved to some of the finest in the country. The short ribs were fall-apart-in-your mouth delicious. Kimg Salmon crust was a bit salty but it was cooked to perfection. The service was very gracious and attentive. It started to snow while we were dining which made the whole experience truly magical and one to be treasured.

We were guests at the Stanley, which is where the Cadcades is located. We were a party of 4, having our 2 teenage kids with us. We are not drinkers, so I can only review our gorgeous meal. My son and husband both had the steak, they ordered it medium, and it was cooked to perfection...my son actually moaned his way thru it! Our daughter had the ribs, which were so tender (and boneless) it was reminise of a pot roast we had in England once, served with a rich dark brown sauce. I had the Fried Red Bird Chicken, it was crisp on the outside, and tender full of flavor in the inside. All of dishes were served with delicious mashed potatoes. We shared the lemon and chocolate desserts, that we heavenly. Our service was fantastic!

My husband were excited to dine at the Stanley hotel as we are both huge fans of the movie, "The Shining." The hotel was really cool to see and dining in front of the bar Jack Nicholson hallucinated in front of was pretty cool. The restraunt was really slow when we arrived (2:00 on a Friday). The wait staff was quite friendly and helpful. I took our waiter up on his recommended drink, The Black Orchid, and it was interesting, in a good way. They have quite a scotch, whiskey selection so my husband was happy. The meal was suprisingly unexpected. I had the special which was the US version of Kobe beef and fries. It was DELISH! My husband got the meatloaf (a house favorite) and it too was quite yummy!

The restaurant all-in-all was superb except a couple of recommendations for the menu: *Option to have a small dinner salad with the main course *The bread served did not go well with my entree; need to have a variety or a choice *There was no pure chocolate desert on the menu. It would have been wonderful to have had either a seven-layel deep fudge deep fudge chocolate cake or a brownie sundae

A very cool ambience. This place inspired the movie the shining, which gives it an eerie feel and adds some excitement to the evening. That aside, the bar features literally hundreds of different types of whiskey. I highly recommend trying a scotch flight. Our bartender was extremely knowledgable with regard to scotch and he spent a good ten minutes explaining the different regions in scotland and the processes of making scotch.

The food was excellent. However, my meatloaf was burned on the bottom. The top was so delicious, but when you got to the bottom of the piece it was black and rock hard. The top 90% of the meatloaf was delicious and tendor, but it became harder and harder until the bottom 10% was trully hard as a rock. I only ate about 70% of the meal becasuue of this. I sent it back to the kitchen and never got anything back other than a bill and the wiater told me he would "inform the chef". Thanks for not bringing me even a replacement for the non-edible portion of my meal. I did not want an entirely new piece, just some more that was not burned. I did not get what I paid for. Great food and ambienace, but they acted like it was my fault.

Cascades was very nice, and staff was great! Had dinner there for my husbands birthday. We ate the braised ribs and salmon. Both were awesome! Bar service, and selection was great! Bar is an exact replica from The Shining movie. Only downfall was that when I made the reservation, I had told them it was my husbands birthday. Other than telling him happy birthday from the hostess, the restaurant or waitress did not offer anything else. But overall atmosphere was nice, and food was good!

We have gone to the restaurant several times in the past, but it has gone way down hill, Atmosphere use to be romantic, but now it is very loud. As far as the food, it is now a high priced Applebees. Chef would not give me the meal the way I wanted it, he thought he knew what I would like better then me. Salad was very poor for the nine dollars, had alot of brown spots. I will never be going back to that restaurant again, I'm sure there are better places in Estes park now.
