Cascades, a Classic American Restaurant and Steakhouse, is housed in the historic 103-year old Stanley Hotel. Join us for, breakfast, lunch or dinner in our dining room. Stop by for a cocktail in our lounge as our bartenders hand craft a cocktail from our historic cocktails menu.

The menu features certified Angus beef, fresh seafood, sandwiches, pasta and Colorado specialties. The chef has tailored a menu to compliment our local cuisine while introducing some American favorites, with a "farm to plate," influence. We also offer house-made gelatos, desserts and crème brulees.

Our bar and lounge offer complete dinner service, along with fine beverage selections and a menu of over 500 whiskies. Ask our Whiskey Concierge to help select a distinctive flight. The wine program will awaken your inner sommelier. We have an extensive list with Old World and New World selections, that will excite the novice or the aficionado with great depth and breadth.

  • Disappointing

The prices were very expensive for mediocre food. We ordered rack of lamb "pink" that was served too rare, and included two lollipop-style pieces served over lamb shank; the mixture of meat styles and presentation was unappetizing. The white bean cassoulet side dish did not enhance the lamb and seemed more suited for a soup bowl with bread. We also ordered the hunters meatloaf, which was tasty with the pecan bacon wrap but the side potatoes were unremarkable. The featured German Chocolate Cake had a salty taste and rather than being dense chocolate, it was dry. Overall, except for dessert, food presentation was lacking.

  • Food was good, but my filet

Food was good, but my filet was very rare instead of being very lightly pink as requested. Waiter was great, obviously embarrassed, but the delay meant that I had to get my meal to go as we had a 7:00 hotel event to attend. The dinner took over 1 1/2 hours.

The Stanley Hotel Cascades restaurant was a perfect place to spend our 5th anniversary. The food was delicious. The only complaint that I have is that a couple tables around us were receiving some "off the menu" items that I would have loved to have been able to try as well. I was spending just as much money as those people were for a great dinner.

The staff was extremely nice. Very helpful in making choices. The flight wine selections are a good idea. I enjoyed the food, good variety, great atmosphere, and floor plan.

We went to the Stanley for a one night getaway from Denver. The hotel was beautiful and well maintained. The Cascades restaurant was great. The food was delicious at both breakfast and dinner.

Outstanding, one word says it all. Maryann our waitress was attentive without being overbearing, artfully guided us to the best menu items. The wagu steak special was in of the best I've ever had. My wife had the filet with the bordalaise, the sauce was to die for. 125 for 2 with tip and a bottle of wine was very reasonable also.

We enjoy this restaurant every time we go. Mark and his staff are noticibly making improvements that make it worth the drive. I wish we could get some things for lunch that are on the dinner menu. Lunch is easier to get to for this restaurant than dinner. It is a long drive still worth the time. Would visit more often if there were more availablity of dinner items.

The only Thing that kept this restaurant from being 100% percent outstanding was a few minor tweeks of the food and the server was a little slow, other than that, it was great.

  • Absolutely to die for!

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we both absolutely loved it. We started with some Shining themed cocktails from the bar where we met Jimmy. He was wonderful! We had to go back to see him. Then we started with a smoked trout dip that was delicious then my boyfriend had the rack of lamb with a cassrulet which he said was the best he's ever had while I had the sea scallops over a pumpkin puree. Our server I think her name was ashley but not positive was also great especially to help us choose wine to go with our dishes. We plan on returning very soon!

The food was decent, the service was only fair. Prices are expensive, yet the quality is ok. There are limited restaurant choices in Estes Park, so this is one of the better dining establishments.

Really good food. Started off with the tuna tartar and spaetzle mac and cheese, both were to die for! We both had Steaks; new your and rib eye. cooked well. No need to get their sauces, tried all three and they didn't add anything to the steak.

  • A mixed menu with some cutting
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 1/1/2012
A mixed menu with some cutting edge items like the Colorado farm raised "T-bone lamb steaks", which were prepared perfectly and tasted delicious, to some classic hotel fare like meatloaf and french onion soup. The purpose of the mixed menu was fairly obvious as the chef is clearly trying to showcase his talent and draw a younger more vibrant crowd while catering to the predominantly older white guests that dominated the dining room and bar. I prefer a younger scene, so am unlikely to return, but I cannot complain about the food or service.

Had made a reservation for a brunch, which later found out that they don't have. Had someone with me that is a vegetarian, but will eat crab cakes. The crab cakes were covered with curry, which was not mentioned. The table next us had ordered the same, with the same result. The item was removed from our bill.

We had a lovely time--we had a surprise addition to our dining party and the host was very accommodating by adding another place at the table. I had also neglected to indicate that one of our party was a child and she was welcomed. The food was excellent and of an interesting variety--nearly everyone had something different. We will most likely return and try something different! Our server did a lovely job by serving our food all at the same time.
