Nice redo of former Portobello (and before that Moonraker). Everyone enjoyed their meal and the view of the Pacific is fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the clam chowder - less broth, more chunks of clam, potato, bacon, etc. Good attentive service.

Moonraker is a great midrange restaurant with breathtaking views. Great for a cocktail stop. The menu is not spectacular fare fit for foodies, but out of town guests and the less snobby can enoy a decent, solid, meal here. The best thing about this restaurant is its proximity to the City, it's live music and of course, its ocean views from every seat.

My husband and I are delighted to find that the Moonraker, one of our favorite restaurants on the coast, has reopened. Our first reintroduction was Easter brunch, and we were lucky enough to have one of the booths facing the ocean. Our server was attentive, and kept our glasses topped off with champagne and mimosas. The brunch was simply amazing - cracked crab, peel and eat shrimp, smoked salmon, a carving station with beef, turky, and ham, fresh fruit, and every type of hot brunch food you can imagine! The dessert table was also incredible, especially the chef creating made-to-order crepes suzette or bananas foster. Just a few minor things kept me from awarding 5 stars - but this is definitely a repeater!

Went to their first ever Easter Brunch and it met our ever expectation and exceeded them! Mimosas were bottomless, prime rib and cold seafood bar were delish, and eggs benedict were fantastic. Food was plentiful and good. Dessert bar was especially amazing with nutella and banana crepes made to order! Great bunch value at $39.95.

This is where we decided to have a 40th birthday party of 11 people. Everything was great from the appetizers ( we chose oysters and 1st entree crab cakes) to the birthday cake we brought in from Mazetti's which they were kind enough to serve, candles and all.The scallops were especially amazing. If you're going for a Chardonnay, choose Napa Valley's Grigch? Sp?All in all it was a perfect night. The view is spectacular and the music was just the perfect mix of bass and mandolin. The only things that brought the service down to four stars was that it took quite a while for our orders to be taken resulting in a slow food service between the drink orders and appetizers (but no one seemed to mind, really).

This is a very special restaurant. Situated on the Pacific, with every table an ocean-view. Obviously the new owners have put a great deal of money and effort into getting this project up and running and they have succeeded in placing a high quality gorgeous restaurant in Pacifica, and worth the short drive from San Francisco or San Mateo for the excellent food, atmosphere and service. My friends and I have eaten around the world and Moonraker stands high

What to do...go to Moonraker, watch the ocean in all it's glory and enjoy happy hour prices for cocktails and oysters. It was SO GOOD, we stayed for dinner. This place has a great view, but the food wasn't great. It was good, but overpriced and lacking in finesse. True foodies will be disappointed by the food, but mollified by the view. The waitstaff was attentive, but lacked the personable sophistication one would find in a truly excellent restaurant. We will probably stick with happy hours at the bar from now on, and save our money for the true gourmet restaurants around here.

The decor is really nice and the views are amazing. The service was not very good and the portions were tiny! We got our food before our drinks arrived...which was strange - we looked at the waiters and they didn't even seem to notice that we'd been sitting there without drinks. Then the food came and we reminded them. The 1/2 crab was very small with little meat. The oysters were tasty but about the size of a blueberry.

We joyfully sipped the inventive Moonraker and Sol Pacific cocktails relaxing to the frolicking pacific ocean. Derek, our waiter, provided excellent service and details on the menu options. The salads were perfectly dressed and well portioned. The main entrees were full of flavor and beautifully plated. My husband enjoyed the scallops with cauliflower mash. The portion size was small (5 med. size scallops) but the dish was well prepared and very much to his liking. I had the braised lamb shank. It was wonderful with two exceptions, the carrot puree and the sauce the lamb was sitting in were lukewarm. Dessert was delightful the chocolate pave smooth and tasty and the bread pudding out of this world.

The food was excellent and it was a prefix four course menu, from appetizers, main entree and dessert. No complaints at all it was outstanding. The service on the other hand was not. Our servicer gave our main entree to the couple on our right and with only an apology the couple on our right came in twenty minutes later and finished half an hour later. The couple on our left came in later, fifteen minutes later, and finished half an hour earlier! We were there from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.. The band was packing up to leave and the hostess left. We were the second to the last to leave, due to they ran out of coffee. Maybe the evening was overwhelming for the restaurant. And I will go again to see if this is the normal way of service.

My wife and I celebrated our 43rd Valentine's Day at the newly re-opened Moonraker. What a great choice! The ambiance is warm, comfortable and lent a sense of romance to the occasion. The view of the evening's illuminated beach was spectacular. The wait staff seem to be working on their "sea legs". While polite and some what attentive, service was a little slow and confused. (Shortly after our order was taken, we were delivered dessert.) Portions were diminutive. The "Baked Marin Myagi Oyster" was just that; one oyster. I trust the Prix Fix meal may not be representative of the restaurant's daily fare. We'll try "The Moonraker" another day.

Nice view. Great bar, bartender and superb drinks. Waiter was slow getting to our table to take the initial drink order. All told, it probably took close to 30 minutes to get our drinks when we sat down at the table. We had to send a steak back that was supposed to be rare (the manager did this with a smile at least). Pretty much everyone else in our party was very happy with their salads and scallops. However, at $150 per couple with tip (and not including our round at the bar), this place is pretty pricey for the slow service and the small portions provided. The wine list needs some work, but the specialty cocktails were delicious! Will probably go back for happy hour, but will keep going to SF if we want top notch dining.

We used to go here 35-40 years ago and wanted to relive those great days so tried it to celebrate Valentine's Day early. We were not disaapointed in anything - the food was excellent, clam chowder, arugal-apple-pommegranite salad, crab cake, scallops, veal chop and two fabulous desserts, apple tart and lime duo. The service was also attentive but not too much. We brought our own wine so can't tell you anything about that but we will definiately be back. The view of the ocean is fabulous and worth the drive for that alone.
