A word from The Social Club - Surfcomber South Beach
Regionally inspired, social plates and hand-crafted cocktails make up the fresh flavor recipes of Social Club's menu. Spices of the Grilled Octopus with tomato chutney, fennel confit, and toasted farro awaken the palate. Jumbo Scallops sit on a bed of red pepper chimichurri, pork belly, and topped with arugula. The Braised Short Rib paired with fregola sarda, garlic spinach, and natural reduction satisfy your appetite.

Chad Phillips, the nationally applauded head bartender, takes a culinary approach to the cocktail menu. "South Beach Swizzle" with banks 7 rum, kronan swedish punsch, lime, fresh pressed pineapple, and black walnut butters perfectly captures the flavor of Miami, while "Romina's Revenge" is a tasty creation of capurro pisco, art in the age rhubarb, lemon, orange pekoe tea syrup, and peach bitters. A great complement to any meal.

Very friendly and hospitable staff, food was amazing, and inventive cocktails (one with a flaming lime) were a hit with our crowd. The place must be new because only one other group came to dine while we were there. Once people know about it, it's bound to get packed.

We found this restaurant through the Miami Spice restaurant list and we are very happy with the choice. The food and service were excellent and the atmosphere warm and inviting. The pricing is also quite reasonable for a Miami Beach hotel restaurant and the portions are just right. We will be recommending this restaurant to our friends and will be eating here again soon.

A neighborhood gem tucked out by the pool. It's a great spot for friends, dates and power lunches or dinners. The food is by far the best SE Asian in Miami.

Great food, outstanding Asian fusion with a great cocktail menu to wash down the spicy fare. The Banh Mi, spring rolls and fried whole fish with coconut rice where Amazing! My wife and I were looking for some spicy food and had stumbled upon this place, when we walked in it was empty and were thinking about leaving. We were warmly greeted and served great cocktails right away, so we decided to stay. So glad we did! The food was just what we were looking for! The service is friendly and very informative, our server made sure we order the best menu items and cocktails to go with them (which we probably would have passed on other wise).

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 8/5/2012
Four of us went for the Miami Spice lunch option on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm. The restaurant was pretty empty, only a couple other tables occupied. The service was extremely slow...we were there for 2 hours! Getting drinks to start took far too long. Three of us ordered the Pad Thai and it was very dry. I make a better one at home. The fish tacos were good, served on a variation of sticky buns dough. The rib starters were the best thing we had. I'm glad we didn't go for dinner. The pool area is very nice, I could see going there for happy hour drinks if you can snag an outdoor seat.

This is one of our new exciting finds and we are surprised that the rest of the world has not found it. The food is fusion and outstanding. At first the menu looks small but there are lots of wonderful choices. Try to limit yourself to only a couple of the "tapas", impossible. The wines recommended by our waiter, "Carr", were fantastic as were his description of the menu items and his service. I wish we could find a Carr at every restaurant we go to. An outstanding find for SOB. We have been there for lunch and dinner, fantastic each time. Can't wait to go again.

Great food at great prices - can this really be in a hip South Beach Hotel? This should become a "neighborhood gem" even if the location makes it a bit of a challenge - we found parking on 18th street - maybe you'll be lucky too.

Forget Lincoln Road and Espanola Way and make your way to Lantao on 1717 Collins. The newest in Kimpton's SoBe restaurants attached to the Surfcomber Hotel, will promise a fabulous meal either indoors or poolside. First cocktails: do not miss their new Asian Garden as your opening gambit. A mix of prosecco, St. Germain, cucumbers and mint, it's great for a hot summer night. My wife and I noshed on some great starters - The blue crab rolls are crispy, light and delicious. Dinner was a flashy, quick fried, full Red Snapper with a highly flavorful sauce. We shared and it was more than enough. Dessert was worth saving space for and the AGM Jerry recommended a Del Maquey Tequila that we drank neat with a cigar. A perfect meal!

I had heard about this restaurant from friends and decided to check it out. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us. Our server Gillian was very knowledgeable and friendly as well. We both ordered the Pad Thai and were able to sub all the meat for tofu. This might be the best Pad Thai I have ever had. The fish taco appetizer was amazing! The atmosphere was perfect for us. Warm ambiance with the right amount of lighting and music. Place is a gem.

Having lunch at Lantao was a disapointment. The service staff is not trainned and not attentive. We waited to place an order (there were only 2 other tables in there when we arrived), we waited for the food, we waited a long time for the check (the waiter didn't know how to split our check)and the food was unexciting. I work in a near by hotel and was checking the place to see if I should recommend to my guests. I am not going back or sending any of my guests in there.

The restaurant was empty upon our arrival on a Friday night at 7:30pm..However after seeing their menu and tasting their food I can see why...This restaurant needs a lot of work in the food dept if they want to survive the South Beach demanding clientel. The Asian inspired menu is very limited. The ribs and duck crepes were average. Their Pad thai was mushy, dry (no sauce) and lacked flavor. The only outstanding part of our dinning experience here was the desserts. The dessert chef gets a 5 Star. We left the restaurant at 10pm and it was still empty. They can't survive too long this way I guess what keeps them open is the hotel guests (room service) maybe ?? They need Chef Ramsey's help!!!

We were a party of 7 and sat at a wonderful large table that was perfect for both sharing food and conversation. The food was delicious! Even our foodies loved it. Our servers were excellent, versatile, always there when we needed them but not hovering. It's a lovely setting outdoors on a deck at the back of the hotel and we all really loved it.

Upscale and cleaned up versions of Southeast Asian "street" food. Very tasty and delectable. The rock shrimp lettuce wrap is divine and the Singapore prawns are fabulous (if you like spicy). The service was efficient and friendly, a rarity in SOBE. The GM gave us a discount to compensate for the mix up with the scheduling on Xmas Night. Great example of service recovery!
