Saluda's is a good restaraunt if you want a quiet romantic dinner. Although my wife's steak was not cooked the way she wanted, they were quick to correct it and gave us a free desert. I would recommend it to anyone.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

We went for a two-nights-before-Valentine's romantic dinner. The restaurant was not crowded on the Thursday night; we were told that over 200 reservations had been made for Valentines. The service was thoughful and attentive, but not at all intrusive. I had two appetizers, the onion-cheese dip/bruschetta and the fried green tomato/goat cheese napoleon. Flavors were wonderful but both dishes were quite oily. Our waitress brought plenty of extra napkins to sop up the oil. My husband had a filet (med rare, tasky truffle sauce) with grits and asparagus (very tasty!) The views through the large windows was as charming as Five Points gets at night. We're glad to be able to try new places now that Columbia has gone smoke-free.

we were given terrible seats in the very back of the restaurant with no view. i asked to be moved to the main dining room, and although our table was near the entrance, it was a much better alternative than the overflow room that was set up just for NYE purposes. Service was adequate although waiter did not follow instructions about bringing appetizer as entree. Sommelier needed.

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to have a nice dinner to culminate our visit to Columbia. We went on a Monday evening, and the restaurant was basically empty, so we had the place for ourselves. The food was excellent. We ordered the brie appetizer, the soup of the day, and a warm spinach salad. Everything was delicious. The pork tenderloin was simply very good. They also have an extensive wine list. The place is elegant and the food was simply delicious. We will definitely go back when we visit Columbia.

My favorite restaurant for special occasions with that "special someone".........always seems to make them feel special.....because they are. Moreover, the food and service are second to none. Try the calamari.........the best I've EVER eaten. "Saludas'Surf and Turf" is my favorite entree........scallops are to die for and the beef is "mouth-watering". I rate 4 STARS. -J

The wine list had a very high mark up our wine we found out the next day was $21.99 at Morganelli's and we were charged $50.00 for a screw top. Too dark to read the wine list. Food was very heavy-too much cream, cheese and butter. Also the server asked us about ordering dessert before one of the diners had finished eating and had our table cleared from dinner. We never order dessert if this happens in a restaurant.

The food at Saluda's was lovely, classic southern and well prepared. Our server was not up to par, however. We were wishing we had the who was at the table next to ours. Our meal was rushed even though the room was empty on a rainy Friday night. Our bread was gone once our entrees appearred. Not the Happy Birthday celebration we were hoping for.

The food here was great, I had the scallops and white truffle risotto and they were both cooked perfectly. The lobster bisque had a little too much paprika in it, the smokiness interfered with the delicate taste of the lobster a bit, but it was still tasty. The service was great and the experience overall was wonderful.

We are from Atlanta and dine out quite frequently. We enjoy the nicer restaurants and I must say I found it difficult to find a nice "non-chain" restaurant in Columbia to take my mother for Mothers Day. I found Saluda's on Opentable.com and thankfully was able to make a reservation. We arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation but they sat us right away. We started with the calamari which was a bit over-cooked but the main course's we ordered were very good. They had a party of 30 which slowed the kitchen a bit but our server made us aware of this ahead of time and bought as a round of drinks. This was unexpected but appreciated! The service, atmosphere and overall experience was definitely worth the trip downtown! I highly recommend!

I have dined at this restaurant on several occasions but was disappointed with this visit. We had to return two dishes (out of three) for additional cooking. Our waitress missed serving the bread and made an excuse of being "busy." Busy is what the restaurant business is all about. Not real sure we want to return after many years of enjoying the restaurant.
