A word from Terracotta Red
We are truly excited to be a part of downtown Everett's dining scene. Our goal is to not only thrive as a distinguished neighborhood restaurant, but also as a destination for surrounding communities with food, family and celebration as our driving force.
Our cooking style centers on traditional Asian dishes created with "fresh ingredients from local farmers and suppliers". Our executive chef, Jimmy Liang, is classically trained in the European style and has worked at many of the most prestigious restaurants in the area including the Herb Farm. We pride ourselves on creating distinctive dishes utilizing multiple layers of cooking techniques and flavors. We call it "Modern Asian Cooking".
A heartfelt "thank you" goes out to family, friends and community members who continue to embrace us.
Your hosts, The Ma family & Chef Jimmy

Sure, Wild Ginger is amazing, but Terracotta Red is not too far behind and is a heck of lot easier to get to. We took Mom for dinner on Mother's Day and found a spot on the street right outside the restaurant after an easy drive up I-5 to Everett (a lot better than dealing with traffic going into Seattle on weekends). My two teenage kids loved the food, as did my wife and I. Pan-asian. Lots of variety and interesting tastes. Cool old building and an energetic vibe. Every north-ender should check this place out, though I think the many regular patrons who are Everett locals want to keep TCR a secret.

Restaurant decor was inviting. Began by ordering the special terratini, a blend of Yazi ginger vodka with pineapple juice. Ordered a glass of Sauvignon blanc, better pairing. Excited to try the Korean pancakes but disapointed. The pancakes were grilled, the seafood was well executed, cooked to perfection, the pancake filling was mushy. Would prefer nuoc cham sauce on the side. The Terra fried rice was bland, needed a little crunch. The side of Sihuan green beans were delightful, sauce was sweet and spicy, balanced with the crunch of the beans. The caramelized prawns were delicious, nice combo with green beans tossed with a divine sauce accented with sambal and sauteed shallots. Pricing a little high for the selection and execution.

  • Appetizers: The Chicken-Coconut

Appetizers: The Chicken-Coconut Milk soup is delish - has a deep flavor similar to, but much more subtle, than a straight Thai curry. Best choice of the night. Seafood pancake OK - unusual - but the texture a bit soft in the center for my taste. Good size, soup and pancake meant to be shared. Dinner: Lamb was good. Drunken Chicken - prepared well, but nothing special Service good. Caring! Over all: A nice dining experience. Will go again, but not on such a busy night -- just too noisy. Need something on the walls and some baffles on the ceiling to quiet it down 20 decibels.

This was my first visit and to be honest I wasn't expecting much. I was surprised to find such a nice restaurant in this unassuming part of Everett. The day we went the place was packed so I am really glad I had reservations...it seemed there were a lot of holiday parties going on. We did the 3 course prix fixed meal for $16 which was a tremendous bargin. The soup was on the spicy side, so be careful if you don't like a little heat. The entrees were flavorful and generous. Dessert was tasty as well. Overall this is a place that I plan to revisit.

I often dine at Wild Ginger downtown, so when I had a business lunch come up on Everett I thought I would try Terracotta Red as it appeared to offer similar cuisine. Wow! I was very impressed. Great, imaginative pan-Asian food that rivals Wild Ginger, but at a lower price and with ample street parking to boot. I was in a party of two, but I noticed some large tables in back with folks having office get-togethers. This is clearly a local favorite. I will definitely be back to try TCR for dinner!

    Dined on 10/20/2012
The menu looked interesting - all the usual favorites plus some special dishes and we were very excited to try something new. We started with pork potstickers and while they seemed to be hand made, were over-pan fried and were very inconsistent on the amount of filling - we would not order again. Our entrees, noodle dish and kung pao chicken were less than what we expected - noodles were oversauced and you couldn't really 'taste' the noodles and chicken was very dry and a bit flavorless. Also, service was OK - the staff was very busy with take out and our server was caught up in filling orders while we sat waiting. Also, it was hard to relax as our table was in the traffic pattern between the kitchen and the front.

Food is always amazing and fresh. We always have the garlic noodles on the side instead of rice and they are to die for! We also never skip on a side of green beans. I always order the drunken chicken and it never disappoints. The only disappointment of the meal was the chocolate pannacotta for dessert. It was not your classic light custard. If I were them I would either stop referring to it as pannacotta or start making a classic pannacotta. I'm sure I'm not the only customer who has expected something much different than I got. It was more like heavy, thick, and hard chocolate ganache that I could not scoop out of the dish. My husband had the Chinese donuts though so I gave up on mine and shared with him. The donuts did not disappoint!

We went to Terracotta Red last Sunday for Mother's Day dinner. Some of the members of our party were going to be late, so hubby and I had a beer in the lobby. The original hostess that greeted us, who was very pleasant, then left. The replacement was rather sullen when we were ready to be seated. There was only one server- and this being Mother's Day! No excuse for a place to have only one server on such a busy day. The food was very good, but as other reviews have stated, it was VERY noisy! By the time we were done with dinner few tables were occupied and the noise level was much more reasonable. I chose this location as it was convenient for all members of our party, but I am not sure I would return.

This was my second visit to Terracotta Red and I enjoy the atmosphere, food, and location. However, it is REALLY noisy! The acoustics in the place need to be addressed (tile floor, kitchen noise, non-baffled ceiling) as it is very difficult to have a conversation and I have been there for one lunch and one dinner. Probably won't return due to this as the conversation is the best part of dinning out.

This was the third time I've been to Terracotta Red, twice in the last two weeks. The food is outstanding... flavorful, hot out of the kitchen, spiced just right (the 5 Spice Port Tenderloin is TO DIE FOR!) A great place for out of town guests, or a nice romantic night out. The only complaint I have is that the space is VERY noisy. I'm happy to see the place FULL of customers -- speaks to the quality of the product and service, and I hope they are around a long time -- but it would be so much more pleasant if something could be done about the noise level. That said, I will certainly return, time and again.
