First and Foremost, the food was AMAZING! We had a delicious meal and tasty cocktails. This is one of the best meals I have had in Seattle! Now, if you are looking for good service, we did not have it. The drinks took forever and we were not check on till we were almost done eating......that being said, it was busy! Also, be warned the wine pour by the glass is REALLY SMALL, so go with the bottle and you will get more wine for your buck. Overall this restaurant was fabulous and it is worth it for the food and the cool atmosphere!

I have heard such good things of the retsaurant and so was excited to try it. Unfortunately, eating for Restaurant week week last night was very different. The food was so bland and unnappetising. The selection options lacked variety in the mains and the best part was a sorbet! Super disappointed. I believe restaurant week should showcase your best .. this I hope was not it:(

My partner and I enjoyed dinner here for Seattle Restaurant Week. I was impressed with the menu selections available for the promotion, and I was satisfied with my own selection. I had the beet salad to start, which was a pretty generic beet salad, but definitely a good-sized portion. My partner had a polenta, sausage, mushroom starter that was also very good and hearty. My entree was milk-braised pork cheeks which were definitely good! My date had a wild board pasta with peas that was also delicious. Dessert was great, and so were the cocktails we ordered to accompany our meal. I would reccommend this for a nice date spot before a night on the town.

My girlfriend and I took her parents to La Spiga of a special night out, and it was wonderful. The pasta was out of this world, and the service was impeccable. To top it off, the wine list was super comprehensive, and we enjoyed a slice of real Italy from Seattle's dining mecca, Capitol Hill. Three thumbs up.

Tried it during R-Week & were disappointed. Not as good as others we tried during DineAroundSeattle. STARTERS: Beet, orange & olive salad was good. Fried polenta w/ mushrooms & sausage - drowned in grease & tiny compared to the salad - Mushrooms were good. MAINS: Tagliatelle w/ wild boar was boring - noodles barely linguini wide, meat while tender was bland, the sauce non-existent (take a lesson from R-Zoe - your meat in their sauce). Gnocchi, beans & pork belly was good - not special. Fresh grated cheese outstanding. DESERT: Panna cotta - OK. Mango sorbet Good - would be great w/ shortbread cookie on the side. Buss/water boy better than waiter. With so many other great places near by - we not likely to go back any time soon.

We came back for the pasta with truffle butter and the beautiful space. Used to love the food when it first opened. Since then , it has been a little inconsistent. Our pasta was not as warm as i would have liked (and not as fresh tasting as i remember) but crostini was delicious. They need to get it back to how it was and then it will be worth the price.

I've been to OLaS a few times, but it really isn't anything special. The portion sizes are small and the food is unremarkable. I foolishly ordered something without examining it and ended up pay $15 for a very lack luster bowl of chicken broth. My fellow diners had similar feelings about their menu choices. The setting at OLaS is nice. There is a ton of open space that I didn't know existed. It would be a great spot to host a party (assuming you could choose the food). They also had live jazz the night I visited, which was a treat.

We dined at Osteria La Spiga on Feb. 26th. This was our second experience here. Last August we brought a friend here for her birthday and everything was fantastic. This time however..... We had a reservation for 5 p.m. and arrived about 5 minutes early. The restaurant was completely set, there is a bar, the bartender was at his post, the door was open but we were told to wait outside (twice in the same sentence!) by the host. There is only a small lobby why we couldn't sit at the bar for a couple of minutes or go to our table I cannot fathom. When we did return 5 minutes later the host could not find our Open Table reservation! (we had received a confirmation from Open Table). Smaller portions, overpriced salad and wine. Disappointed

The food was very fresh & delicious. Our waiter was not friendly. They don't split checks which always surprises me. I travel for work & eat out 75% of the time. It's rare to find a place that doesn't split checks. For me, it's all about attitude & delivery of the message. The waiter was rude when I asked him to split our checks. Once he brought the check I assigned every line item to a persons card. He brought it back and said he couldn't process it and I needed to add it up for him. I had to ask for paper & a pen to do so. He came back again because I missed one item. It was so unprofessional. Our group was only 6. I have had groups of 20+ & had a much better experience. He knew what we ordered & honestly ruined the entire experience.

I'll be short and sweet. La Spiga offers typical Northern Italian food - if you've been to Northern Italy (where all the best Italian food comes from), you'll quickly be reminded of how many fake Italian restaurants there are. Price, service, wine list are all very good, I'd recommend this place to anyone. If you go, you must try the Gnocco Frito with proscuitto followed by the Lasagne Bolognese.

We'd heard great things about this place and couldn't wait to try it, but it was just so-so. The service was fine, the wine list was good, but the food was pretty ordinary - I can make braised escarole like that at home, and the sausage dish was cloying. It's a pretty restaurant, but I don't know that we'll go back anytime soon.

My family is from the Emilia-Romagna region and I can say that La Spiga is the real thing. Italian restaurants usually feature a southern-Italy menu, so having this restaurant in town is a treat because you get to explore more of the Italian cuisine. Every moment was special. This was our first time at Osteria LaSpiga. We came to hear music by Dee and Richard. Excellent wait staff. Michael took good care of us while managing to efficiently keep up with everything else he needed to attend. We also met Hugo who made us feel extra welcome. We didn't get the names of the other staff who were wonderful. We had no idea the food would be that fabulous. We had the Aeto wine, spinach soup, sautéed escarole, lasagna verte, and apple tartlette with gelato. We split everything except the more than generous cups of soup. We were more than satisfied and although there were so many more tempting items, we could not have eaten more.

The food was excellent, but it took FOREVER to come. It took probably 45 minutes after ordering, which seems a bit excessive in today's dining world. We both had standard menu pasta dishes, so I can't fathom that something inherent to the order we placed made it take so long. Still, our water glasses never went empty, and the server seemed ready to address any need we had. In fact, it was a good balance of attentiveness without being disruptive. As to the wine list, it is notable. However, the wines by the glass options are very limited, and very seldom do I order a bottle if I'm just having dinner and have to get in the car to go home after. A better by the glass list would be super.

The food here is always good, the burrata and air dried beef starter was wonderful and our steaks were good, a little underdone from what we requested, but still lovely. My issue was that we were stood waiting to be greeted and shown to our table for several long minutes. When we were given our table we had to wait a long time for our server to come over (the water waiter filled our glasses about 3 times before she came). She was knowledgeable about wine, but forgot to give us our bread and our ice bucket for the wine - we had to remind her about both. So... would I return? Sure, but I'd make sure I wasn't starving when I arrived!
