We brought in the new year dining at Coohills! Coohills' staff welcomed us with party favors, a complimentary glass of champagne and great cheer. Our meals were exquisite, and we enjoyed a starter, salads, entrees and a desert. My duck l'orange with brussel sprouts had such rich and fragrant flavors that I lingered over it and savored every bite wishing it would never end! Our trio desert that we shared featured three sweet treats and was the perfect finish. It's amazing presentation was worthy of a photograph! Our server recommended the perfect bottle of champagne, and the various courses were perfectly presented and served by Coohills' incredibly attentive, skilled and professional staff. Coohills was a great place to start 2012!

My husband and I enjoyed our evening at Coohills very much. Each course was beautiful and delicious. Our server, Tony, was perfect with his timing and attention. I had the monk fish and lobster tail which was prepaired to just the right temp. No one should over-cook a lobster tail!

The atmosphere and wait staff were excellent, but the food left a lot to be desired. The waitress said the strip steak was so tender, it would fall apart if ordered over medium. however, when it arrived, I could barely cut it with my knife. The portion sizes were incredibly small and the quality was mediocre at best. Even the temperature of the food was tepid. While the waitstaff helped make this a much more pleasant experience, we won't go back.

We have been twice and had the same exerience. Make sure you try the sliders. Great appetizers and salads. Lobster broth better than other 2 soups. Soups just average. Lobster raviolis good other entrees not so good. Chicken too smokey and beef did not come cooked to order and was cold when served at table. Drinks and appetizers in the bar best reccommenation for Coohills.

Great food, wonderful service and atmosphere. Many downtown/Bolder restaurants feel so clausterphobic, but this was spacious and modern. Portion sizes were small, so an appetizer/side is a good idea. We had the mint cake and enjoyed it - it was nice to have something new! We walked over to the Nuggets game after (where we had parked already) - very convenient. Highly recommended!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

Foodie friends had told us this was one of the best restaurants they"d been to in a long time. We found the food only so-so, however. One disappointment, for example, was the arugula, frisée, pear, walnut, blue cheese salad -- made with lots of flavorless, unripe pear slices. Also, the bread arrived at least 5 minutes after the cheese platter and roasted artichoke appetizer. And the lobster ravioli was drowned out in too much heavy cream sauce. Give me Potager, Mizuna, or Osteria Marco any day. (Love the location, though. And the space is great. )

Great restaurant. Really like it. However of the four mains two weren't as good as expected. My husband had the steak as he did the first time we were there but this last time the meat was quite tough sadly. I had buckwheat pasta with wild mushrooms but I thought there was too much pasta proportionate to the mushrooms. The pasta was too overwhelming so disappointing choice. The chicken and lobster ravioli were good

This is my second time at Coohills. The first was the week it opened and I was greatly excited. This second time was disappointing. Hamburger was not cooked to order, the sides were not very good. Others in my group were also disappointed. Which is sad as we work in the building and would like to make it a frequent spot to go to.

Had a lovely lunch at Coohill on a weekday. The lobster cream was delicious, the brussel spouts are fantastic, the warm potato salad was delicious, and the hamburger was outstanding. We also had great service.

Some entrees were lukewarm. Salad didn't have enough, or any dressing. Chicken was dry. Took a long time to get served between courses. Wishing this would be the new neighborhood "gem" and still hoping it will with some improvements. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

Not a great experience. For starters, we were seated at a very small table for two right in the middle of the restaurant that lacked napkins and cutlery. We asked twice for cutlery and finally received some after getting our appetizer and the waitress noticed we hadn't touched it yet. Our first choice of wine, which the "wine guy" raved about, turned out to be unavailable. Both bread and appetizer were served on wooden planks that were too large for our small table. At one point, our waitress actually attempted to move our bottle of wine to the floor to make room! My husband's short ribs were fine. My barramundi was a tail end and overcooked. The pear tart was burned on the bottom and sides and taken off our bill. Service felt chaotic.

The restaurant is beautiful but extremely loud. The food was average, not impressive. Of note, they do not validate for parking in the garage but will pay for valet parking, however there is no signage indicating how to access the valet and absolutely nowhere else to park except the garage.

Service was below par. Order time to table way off. Ordered drink (local rootbeer) gave something different and not offered a reason why. Server had little menu knowledge. Had a work lunch there next day. Med-well burger came out rare. Anther's veggie burger horrible. Dinner much better than lunch.

Service was very marginal and the food not worth the cost. I was shocked that the parking was not validated. We were seated in the bar for some odd reason and I believe that the server was pre-occupied with other task. Once the salad course was completed I was left without silver ware. The main course arrived and still no silver ware to found. After a frustrating while looking around for staff I went on a search to find something to eat with. Also, do not expect to have bottled mineral water. Possibly could be a good place for drinks if one were sitting directly at the bar in front of the bartender. Hillstone it is not.

  • The service at this restaurant
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

The service at this restaurant was too good. They were too attentive. I was so aware of being watched ............... by the waiter and the managers. I felt like I was being watched by the mafia! They kept trying to take my wine glass when there was a touch of wine left (at 22.00 a glass I want the last drop!), and they kept trying to take our food and serving plates when we weren't done. I don't know if it was the waiter or the managers pushing the waiter, but it was too much and enough that I might now go back. They have only been open too weeks so maybe they are sorting it out, but I would say back off!! Or, at least become more subtle. There is such a thing as too much attention.
