Boasting modern American cuisine with a global palette of fresh, flavorful and dynamic ingredients, Palettes serves weekday lunch, as well as dinner on Fridays, and a recently-added champagne weekend brunch. Nice restaurant - we always book and then enjoy the current exhibit at the Museum. Only one problem that I noted - fellow diner requested no blue cheese on salad - came with blue cheese dressing - sent it back for ranch. Came back with blue cheese - really! How does that happen?? Overall experience enjoyable and good.

Ordered "kt’s smoked sweet corn soup, guacamole, barbequed shrimp" and it arrived laced with oil of red pepper. Here is a recurrent problem in Denver eateries: the kitchen staff (if not the proprietor) thinks a hot-spiced addition need no mention on the menu. Neither does the wait-staff.

We had a lovely lunch at the DAM after seeing the Impressionist Exhibit. It is one of our favorite places to eat when we are in that area especially when we go to the museum. Why leave the museum and go anywhere else when you have Palettes. Great food, good service and very convenient.

I have had lunch more than a dozen times at Palette's, which is located in the Denver Museum of Art. The menu is terrific, food presentation is appropriately artful and the service is perfect. I just wish they were open for dinner every night, instead of just Fridays. It is wonderful. And the views and people watching are among Denver's best.

  • Palettes...A True Delight

ANY restaurant of Kevin Taylor's is a masterpiece, and a true palette for the senses. I am a huge fan of his food and have been ever since he opened the Rattlesnake Club! I took my 85 years young mom and friend there last week and loved every bite. We had a delicious lunch: carpaccio, chili relleno and watercress salad. Oh and some bubbly too! The service is outstanding and the tables are far enough apart and the room carpeted, so quiet conversations are easy on the eyes and ears. This is one of my favorite places to dine in Denver. Besides, it's well-positioned at the Denver Art Museum. Palettes truly paints the way to a great show, or finishes off any museum visit as a true masterpiece.

We visited Palettes with our teenage grandchildren for spring break. It is a lovely place for lunch. There were choices for even our pickiest eater. The crab enchiladas with mole sauce were particularly good. While we were sad to see that the menu had changed since our last visit, everything we tried was very tasty. Kudos to the chef for making excellent seasonal choices.

We have made a habit of lunching at Palette's before seeing an exhibition and based on the food we had on Sunday, the tradition will continue. The food is delicious, the service is very nice, and the setting is bright, clean, and modern without being ostentatious. I had the Pork Tenderloin special with pork belly and lightly-fired polenta cubes. I highly recommend it if it is still on the menu.

I have always loved this restaurant - the food and the ambiance are usually great. But the last two times I have eaten there have been very disappointing. The shrimp and crab enchiladas were mediocre and the burger came too well done. It seems that the enthusiasm has gone out of the menu and preparation. Our waiter was very nice but non attentive - I had to flag him down a couple of times for attention. I will try Palettes again and hope that it is re-energized!

Delicious food and decadent dessert. We enjoyed a beautiful view of snow falling on the public art from the restaurant's picture windows. My only annoyance was that the windows didn't seem to be very well insulated and it got chilly, so maybe bring a sweater on a cold day if you plan to sit near the windows.

i come down to denver on occasion to meet friends for lunch, and this is an easy place to meet, before or after a cruise through the museum and gift shop. the food always offers an adventure, but i'm extremely partial to the mac'n'cheese, esp. on a chilly day. the service has always been friendly, informed and a good balance of prompt, hot food, and let me linger and talk. the people watching from the comfort of a window table is among the best to be had anywhere, as passersby, photographers and the large scale exterior art installations are in a constant state of reaction to one another. i never tire of palettes.

My husband and I never go out for Valentine's Day, but this year we decided to see the Art Museum and then eat at Palettes. At first, I was disappointed with the look and feel of the place. Very bright, plastic chairs, kinda of a fancy cafeteria feel. But once the the host offered us delicious drinks while we waited and then we sampled an appetizer, my mind was change. They had a pre-fixed 5-course meal for only $36. Everything we ate from the crab and apply ravioli to my Atlantic char (like salmon) covered in a lobster cream sauce and then the chocolate cake was outstanding. This dinner was one of the tastiest, best value meals I've had in a long time. Go for the food and you won't regret it.
