The food is great, green and all about Texas. Be careful with the hotel valet, as I had items from my car stolen last time I ate at Texas Spice.

Great food and service. Not usually crowded, depending on how full the Omni Hotel is..........just don't park in the hotel's valet, as I have had items stolen from my car (that were not sitting out in the open) and the hotel doesn't do anything about it. FYI.

Our waiter was very sweet but clearly new and inexperienced. Nervous as well. It was not his fault, but our dinner took almost an hour to be brought to our table. We received a free glass of wine and one dessert as an apology, so no hard feelings. If we had been very very hungry, this would have been a big problem. The food was outstanding. The ambiance is quite nice, and the interiors are very interesting and attractive. Loved the whole "green" aspect.

Had the hanger steak and it was really tough. It is a tough cut of meat usually, but we ask how it was prepared to make it tender and were told that ordering it rare or medium rare would assure that it would be very good. Unfortunately, it was just too tough to eat. the sauce was good, but it just couldn't make the meat palatable. The salmon was very good with beet risotto, but we felt the prices were really high for what we received. The service was very good and the restaurant ambiance is delightful.

    Dined on 2/11/2012
After perusing the "farm-to-table" menu, we were excited to try this new restaurant. However, the dining experience was left to be desired. Our server forgot our salads and then my salmon & risotto came out cold. My friend ordered plain risotto, which came out undercooked. The rest of our table ordered flatbreads, which were very good. The manager tried to compensate by giving us free desserts (the cookies and milk were a hit). Overall, I would never go back to this restaurant nor recommend to others.

We have been here before and the food and service was so good we just had to come back . We not only were treated like "Kings and Queens" but the food is great . This was the first time I ever went online and reserved a table and we got the table we wanted for six people with a "STUNNING " view of Downtown Dallas . We even went outside and enjoyed the fire pit on a cool night . We just had a super time , it could not have been any better . Thank you.......

We had a wonderful dinner at Texas Spice. We were especially pleased with the prices, although the waiter told me an increase was coming in the near future. That will probablyl deter me from going there again. The service was spotty, as we had to ask for bread three times. The fantastic potato salad and a perfectly cooked hanger steak made up for the staff's gaffes.

great idea but poor execution. the service was slow, slow, slow. menu was odd and very limited. our table, rectangular 4 top, was really wide, something i have never noticed before, so it was difficult to carry on a conversation with friend right across from me. the noise level was very high, i think due to all the hard surfaces. it is a really pretty place, nice view of outdoor seating area with fire place, neat to see the city and people walking into hotel. could really be a fun place if they make some changes.

We had a table at the window with a lovely view of downtown Dallas. The service was poor. Our waiter showed up about every 20 minutes. The menu is rather limited and the waiter informed us at 7:00pm that they were out of chicken and dumplings which we thought was strange given the time and the fact that there were many empty tables. The food was good and we enjoyed the meal since we were in no hurry and visited with our dinner guests. Hopefully, the service problems will improve with time.

We had alot of attention from staff as the hotel/restaurant was very quiet. I liked having courtesy self parking since we were dining. Anthony was so thoughtful and took us on a tour of the 4th floor outdoor restaurant. Outstanding! We also met Micella-(something who works in the lobby common area) and she was very friendly as well. I was disappointed there weren't more indoor Christmas decorations. It was a very delightful experience for our first visit to the Omni.

Would recommend this great place to all my friends to use for all occasions. As a native of Dallas and a non-downtown Dallas hotel opposer, I wanted to see for myself what the city's large tax funded hotel looked like. I was just simply blown away with the Omni's ambiance, decor and service. Having this awesome and wonderful restaurant with full service meal choices on a Sunday! As we Texans say, whoaaaa!!! It was great! And our young waitress had a beautiful African accent, she was consistantly responsive, cordial with a bright sunny beam that lit up the place, yeah this is good. Thanks guys for a wonderful experience. And yes I will be back, smile.

We were very disappointed!! The food was mediocre at best. Four of us each ordered something different, and none of us liked our meals. We will never return. I have never taken the time to write a bad review of a restaurant, but this was so bad I felt I had to warn others. The waiter kept touching my mother, which really annoyed her. Plus, we had to remind him to check on our drink order. We had high hopes, but were really let down.

Checked into the Omni and wanted a quick, on-site dinner (although the restaurant is easily accessible to people not staying at the hotel). . The buffet at Texas Spice did not disappoint: ribs, brisket, BBQ chicken, pork, plus mac & cheese with BACON (along with great salad, fruit, and veggie choices, plus blackberry cobbler). Lest you think this sounds like a grease pit from the foods I listed, let me assure you that this is high quality food at a semi-high end restaurant. If you prefer something besides grass-fed, hormone-free, regionally-sourced meaty goodness, there are plenty of lighter dishes on the menu. But seriously, get the buffet.

Where to begin. Initial reception was cold (maitre d' was on the phone and didn't look up or acknowledge us for several minutes). It only got worse. Five minutes after we sat, we were provided bread--without butter or anything else. Ten minutes later our waiter finally made an appearance. It wasn't crowded. We ordered a bottle of wine. Ten minutes later our waiter said he couldn't find it. We ordered a different bottle. Five minutes later they had to retrieve it one from another restaurant across the hotel lobby. These were not rare labels. Warning: "flat bread" = pizza. My grits were flavorless and luke warm. My wife's steak wasn't even luke warm. So they warmed it up and reserved it. The staff and kitchen are not ready.
