  • Bad Dining Experience

We usually dine here for all special occasions- especially the holidays. This experience was a let down. Food not up to par, taking too long for the food to arrive and just plain a bad experience. And- also where was the piano player??? We at least had a fantastic server- who obviously needs to look for a another job because he is too high caliber for this restaurant.

I made my reservation about a week in advanced and they had everything ready the moment i showed up. They had our own little booth set up for my party of 8 for my girlfriends birthday and it was positively adorable. Not to mention how fantastic the food was and how patient the waiters were.

Server was efficient but seemed rehearsed, not genuine except to regular customers Food was so so, not much flavor and way too much oil/butter Appetizer was not bad but had little to no flavor and the tortilla chips that were served with it were stale Lobster had egg batter....strong egg flavor that over powered the taste of the lobster Desert and coffee was best part of the meal Singer entertaining the bar over sang the soft piano Christmas music playing which was annoying

The food was very good &reasonably priced. Upon arrival we stood for over 5 minutes at the greeting desk before being greeted by anyone - there were no other diners in the restaurant when we arrived at 6:30 & no servers in the restaurant that acknowledged our arrival. Our server disappeared for lengthy periods of time throughout our service. After completion of our dessert we waited over 30 minutes for our server to return to the table and deliver our check. After delivering our check it took another 10 minutes for another server to arrive with our receipt and thank us for our business. Our original server never thanked us for coming. The food, which was very good, is deserving of better service to complement the overall dining experience.

I went here for Magical Dining Month with my girlfriend. We had a fantastic time and both were blown away by the beautiful ambiance and service level. The restaurant is set in what appears to be a brick courtyard turned into the interior, with brick floors and walls and trees growing in planters The roof is glass like a greenhouse, and there is a player piano playing James Taylor and other tunes. It doesn't get any better in terms of ambiance, and the polite service was also very impressive. In terms of food quality, I think the food was all very good, but I have had a better version of all six things that we ordered. Menu highlights were the brie pastry atop our candied pecan, apple, brie, and lettuce salad, and the creme brulee.

I have been eating at this restaurant since I first landed in Winter Park in the late 80's. I try to go as much as possible, and always take out of towners there. My favorite is the best brunch deal ever! One price for all you can drink mimosas, an appetizer, and an entree. We just always have such a good time there, and everyone I have ever taken absolutely loves the place. The back room is gorgeous, the staff is one of the most attentive staffs of any restaurant in winter park - always there for you, and the food is always out of this world. You can tell the chef really cares about what he is serving

SURE THE PRICE WAS $33.00 PER PERSON, BUT THE AMOUNT OF FOOD WAS VERY LITTLE. MY FISH WAS DROWNED IN A SAUCE, I EXPECTED THE COD TO BE A FILET. THE SALAD WAS JUST A FEW PIECES OF MIXED GREENS WITH A SUPER SWEET DRESSING. THE WAITER WAS GOOD. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Make reservations and dine in the atrium. It's like a gorgeous little hidden garden dining, fully AC'ed for brunch in the summertime. Everyone in our party agreed that the food was top notch and they have a full bar (for bloody marys). The complimentary breads are a nice touch - their biscuits are perfect, and they even give you a small square of apple butter to try. The waiters are on top of their game and there's not one thing I can think of that they could do better. Love this spot.

Had a reservation at Park Plaza Gardens and wanted to take advantage of Magical Dining Month. We were never offered a Magical Dining menu by the hosts or the server and it was never mentioned. We decided to give the regular menu a try as I had heard good things. Server was nice but seemed like he didn't want to be there and didn't make an effort to interact much. He reviewed the specials and did checked back at the right intervals and clear dishes. When he brought us a dessert menu, he set it down and left. When he came back we ordered a dessert to share and he told us they were out of it because they had issues with it that day. It would have been better to tell us when he set the menus down. Would return but would want a new server.

We hadn't eaten there in a few years and it was as good as I remember, if not better. We ordered from the magical dining menu. I loved the appetizer, entrée, and dessert; as did my wife. 30 years ago Park Plaza was a great place to go. Sorry to say it is just not the same. The food was not very good. The gardens were not busy and you would think service would be good, but it was not. Very slow. I had hoped for better for a special date night with my long time husband but we were disappointed.

From the outward appearance, you see a typical bar. Upon walking in and all the way to the back of the bar, you find the restaurant. This room has been decorated in a simple, romantic setting to give the outdoors feel in the comfort of the restaurant. All wait staff at some point said hello or offered to help in any way possible. The food was incredible, to say the least. The suggested wine was amazing, even if my first choice was not available. Though we didn't get desserts, I would give the complete meal a 10 out of 10. Thanks for a lovely evening, PPG.

If you choose the more formal dining room you will be charmed by the romantic "outdoor patio at night look " with little lights and lots of greenery....there is an adorable tiny private room adjacent with bricks walls, 10 maxi at your table in the "cave". During August on certain days and times one can select items from a vintage menu or the regular menu or both--quite a wonderful choice of dinner items. The welcome and service were warm, professional, and prompt. The various courses were nicely plated. The different salads, entrees, and desserts ordered were tasty and satisfying. But the cute martini glass with the bent stem should go; most real martini drinkers take the drink seriously, and don't relish silly glassware, especially at a good dining spot, to hold their drinks, although a fellow diner did suggest that if one notices the stem straightening, he has then had too much to drink. Nevertheless, glassware aside, it was a very pleasant evening at this special Winter Park restaurant.

A stop at the bar before dinner was very relaxing, soft music, good selections and a very pleasant bar maid. Good way to start. We moved to the dining room for dinner. An appitizer cake of crab, shrimp, grouper and salmon was tasty but a little dry, needed more sauce. The entrees were excellent, CRAB STUFFED GROUPER and FRANCAISE LOBSTER TAIL. Both were cooked perfectly. For dessert we ordered BANANAS FOSTER which was disappointing, not made at tableside. The bananas were dry and tough. Never had a tough banana before. The ambiance is very pleasent with trees and other flora and a ceiling that lets the sunshine brighten the place during the day. The service was excellent, very attentive and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit.

This was our first visit to Park Plaza. A quiet place set as an atrium garden. Large comfortable booths and tables. The Calamari appetizer is fantastic - crisp, not greasy and large enough to have as a main course along with a salad. We had the swordfish special and the pork loin. Both were well prepared and tasty. For dessert, we shared the Bananas Foster - not Brennan's , but a worthy alternative. The wait staff is fully attentive while staying in the background until needed,

We selected this restaurant on recommendation. When we arrived we learned that the chef of note had left recently and a new chef had taken the helm and was in place for the past month.. There had been a terrible storm, and there were a few patrons in the establishment. We sat in the back room, which has more of an outdoor feel. Service was excellent, not hovering or intrusive - just right amount of attention. The food was good, but not memorable. They plan to re-do the roof off the back room (portions of it leaked in the storm), and they also plan to overhaul the menu with time. We clearly got the sense that they knew what they were doing. I wish them good luck with all of the upcoming changes! Great spot in town, we'd definitely go back.
