We decided to dine here for a change of pace from Vail village. Made a reservation, and got there with no trouble even though you need to take the gondola up (beautiful, quiet ride). Wait staff was efficient and friendly. Food was very good and reasonably priced for the area. Would definitely go back!

Sydney was our waiter. He is fabulous!! We felt very well attended. There was a very relaxed and personal air to the place. The food was excellent and elegant - Beautifully presented. We had trout, onion soup & salad - then a toffee Carmel tart for dessert. Sydney helped us feel welcome as if we were having a fine dinner in the home of a gracious friend. Other than the fact that we had on our ski pants and our snowshoes were stacked against the wall, it felt like a very elegant evening out. I highly recommend this restaurant and staff.

Set atop Vail, this place is a great spot to unwind after a day of family fun on the slopes. We were there on a Thursday night and they have a great special - Two 3-course meals for $50 and kids got there own for $10. For Vail and the view, it was a deal. Food was of great quality. Wait staff was hustling all night and service was timely. However, I thought that a busser or two would help keep the plates from piling up on the tables. Dining room had lots of windows, so the view was available from just about every table. Dinner time was good for watching the sunset. Family friendly, so kids and noise level were high. Also look into other nights for specials. Monday was a 2-for-1 night i think.

We always make room for at least one Bistro 14 lunch on our annual visit to Vail. It is such a treat to have great food and great table service at the top of lionshead - and with an amazing view! Last year and this year we tried the new table service alternative on the mountain - '10' - both times we found the menu less appetizing and varied, the serviced harried, and the selection of wine by the glass more limited and pricey. So this year it was twice at bistro 14 - both times fabulous in all respects! We expect we'll continue to make this a 'go to' each year. The staff was great, our party had the squash soup, salads - tuna and a GREAT house salad, burgers ---- all great --- except the breaded popcorn shrimp.

We eat at Bistro Fourteen often. It has great food, great service and you cannot beat the location, in Eagle's Nest, on the slopes of Vail mountain. It is a great way to avoid the congestion and lines at the nearby cafeteria. The prices are really fantastic considering what you get- great food with sit down service at virtually the same prices as the cafeteria. The kids meals are a great deal. My only reservation in writing this review is that more people will discover it and I won't be able to get a reservation!

We dined here on our last night of a 1 week vacation. The view of Lionshead at night from the gondola was spectacular. The service was extremely attentive, almost to the point of being rushed. The food was creatively prepared and presented, as we'll as delicious. Only complaint heard from my family was from my son who wished his tender steak was bigger. My teenage daughter wasn't feeling well and wanted comfort food, so they let her order simple pasta and sauce off the kids' menu, then proceeded to bring all 3 kids a small brownie sundae. The bill was quite reasonable. All in all, a great experience. It was a great way to wrap up a fun filled vacation.

Located at Eagles Nest atop Vail, accessed by the Eagle Bahn Gondola (free ride after 4:00 pm), the Bistro has great views. The food was very good, as was the service. Deceiving. Both online and in a Vail magazine this restaurant had pictures of tables with tablecloths and a menu. It was nothing like it was presented. Instead, it looked like a sports bar and grill. The menu was limited - nothing like we were expecting and food terribly disappointing. I wonder if this restaurant is different in the summer than the winter. Nice view but wouldn't eat there again.

Granted, it's not the easiest place to get to as it's atop Vail Mountain; however, the food is remarkable! For those who are familiar with Eagle's Nest, this is truly a gem for dining on the mountain. The service is prompt yet unobtrusive, the food is thoughtfully orchestrated yet not pretentious, and they pour a NICE cocktail!

First: *Usually,* the better the view, the worse the food - *except* for here. Next: Everything in Vail is pricey, but this place is relatively reasonable considering it's at a stupendous viewpoint of the Rockies. Great sunset view from our table - except the sun is a bit blinding while it's still up. The gondola ride up & down is a pleasurable trip. The food was pretty good - was better 2 years ago. This time (March 2012) it was overloaded with butter/oil (the trout, though cooked nicely) and the pasta putanesca (we don't eat meat) was a bit bland (needed pepper or something, but not salt!). Dessert: very well done, great flavor complements. The service was good, friendly, patient and non-rushed in a very pleasant way.

Our waitress was very accommodating to the 3 year old that I had with me while we were waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. She brought a little "appetizer" of carrots and grapes with ranch dressing to "dip." The children (we also had a 6 year old) were also given a special dessert of brownie, ice cream and whipped cream. Just their size. The menu items are varied and were well-priced for lunch at the top of the mountain in Vail. Delicious desserts, too! We were there when they were also having a Mardis Gras crayfish broil outside on the patio, so got to hear the band playing as well. We made our reservations on Open Table and the table was ready for us at the appointed time. Great meal and service!
