Proceed across the Covered Bridge and up Bridge Street to load Gondola One (lift ticket required to access Gondola One during daytime hours).

- Parking Details: The 10th is a full service restaurant located at Mid-Vail on Vail Mountain. Guests may arrive by skiing to the Mid-Vail area, or by riding Gondola One out of Vail Village. A lift ticket is required to access Vail Mountain and The 10th restaurant during daytime hours. Gondola One is free to foot passengers after 4pm. Parking is available in Vail Village at the Vail Village parking structure; parking fees apply during daytime hours. After 3pm, parking is free.

This is a great place to relax... But the service doesn't match the food or luxury ski lodge surroundings. After two lunches on back to back days, service was completely inconsistent. Very attentive at first, then missing in action, which is strange when a team of waiter/bus boys/water servers is involved. And it happened both days to our group of 4. It's too bad, because the food was fine and the physical comfort of the space is the best on the mountain.Special Features:

Food was very good and quality is on par with other fine dining restaurants in Vail Village proper. Service was too slow for my taste. I believe they had too many guests for the number of staff working on the shift we had dinner. Staff polite, by overwhelmed. Restaurant was at best 40% filled, thus at capacity the service issue would definitely need to be addressed.Special Features:

Our server was very enthusiastic when he greeted us but that was practically the last time we saw him. Or any server for that matter! Two of us are gluten free, we asked for GF bread. We never got it. When our food arrived we were disappointed to receive burnt french fries. After we finished our food we waited forever for our check. Annoying, as we were ready to get back on the slopes. Our server had disappeared and we never saw him again! We tried to flag down another server but they were far and few between and the few we did see were not close by. Once we finally had our check we waited so long that we ended up taking the check to someone to ring it up. Very disappointing experience.

Notable wine list, interesting menu with lots of choices and full bar. If you want a very nice place to have lunch while on Vail mtn, then this is your place. Would highly recommend. Much better than standing in line for overpriced burgers/pizza/chili and scrambling to find a table at the other lodges on the mountain. Do yourself a favor, call and reserve a spot and just do this once during your ski trip. Hang your jackets up, get your bootsoff slip into some booties and relax for an hour or two. Yes overall its pricey but not much more than the other lodges on the mountain and it makes your ski day that much more memorable and rewarding.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.

The food was very good - he had the halibut and chicken. We especially enjoyed the sunset views on the way up and city lights on the way down the gondola. One negative - we found it to be exceptionally expensive. We did not have a bottle of wine but had a couple of glasses each, a salad and entrees. We had let the restaurant know it was a birthday celebration. I was surprised the dessert for the birthday celebrant wasn't on the house. With tip was $460.00 for 3 of us. So - for a very special occasion it's worth the experience but not for an average meal out even in Vail.Special Features:

Outstanding dishes included lobster bisque - the best we have ever tasted - rack of lamb and exquisitly prepared roasted elk. All side dishes complemented the entrees. The ambiance is lovely though the room is so large it feels almost cafeteria like. The bar is more intimate and one can eat there. The main dining room felt too institutional,in food and in feel. Some strange menu structure , for example, only one true salad in the salad section. The "salad" I had looked like 1/2 lb of duck confit covered in a duck fat lid with maybe 2 sprigs of frisée. Just way too overpowering.chicken entree served in iron, Resulting in a very hot pan but under done pearl onions and overlooked sauce. Lack of training/experience evident - seasonal staff feeling - scripted group presentation of each course (while servers ignored other basics) made me wonder if clustered staff was going to clap and sing for guest entertainment. Even coat check was stressful - how is that possible? Felt like a theme park. Save your $ for Sweet Basil.

We made a quick last minute reservation for lunch and were completely surprised and blown away. When you walk in, they show you to the "changing lounge" where we were encouraged to take off some of our ski layers and boots and replace them with comfy fuzzy warm slippers. We put our ski gear in the cubbies and off to lunch we went. We sat at a beautiful round table place in front of a ceiling to floor window overlooking the lifts and mountain. The service was perfect. This is the type of place you would like to linger a bit to enjoy an extra glass of wine after dinner or lunch. They don't mind a bit. The food was delicious too :)Special Features:

The atmosphere can't be beat and we thought we were in for a real treat.....until the hostess seated a party of approximately 15 people behind our table that included about 6-8 energetic children. They were well behaved children, but it suddenly sounded like we were in the YMCA. It was unfortunate that the hostess didn't feel the need to locate them someplace else in the very spacious, uncrowded dining room. Not exactly what we were hoping for. :-(

Although the service was excellent, to me the food lacked the quality versus the pricing, so I was a bit disappointed... The presentation of the meals were good, just the flavor was lacking a bit for that caliber of a place. I hope with a little more time, the chef gets to dial in his creations so that the food quality meets our expectations. However, the dinner left something to be desired. Appetizer portions are tiny, e.g. Iberico Ham with Melon means tiny shaved pieces of ham over a thin slice of melon. The entrees were ok, but not exciting. The atmosphere is not conducive for a romantic dinner, since the hall has very high cathedral ceilings and an ultra-modern decor. Must be tough to heat the space, it was freezing inside. Service was ok, waiters act almost too casual for the character of the menu and the pricing. The sommelier was attentive at first, but never came to refill glasses (neither did the waitstaff) or ask if we wanted more.Special Features:

On-skier particularly loved it. The inside of the restaurant was very nice. The lighting was great for a restaurant with no view, but reflected off the windows and so you could not see the stars or the mountains. Our service started out great, but as it got a little busy, we had a hard time finding our wait staff. We had a variety of meals and every one was delicious. I had the halibut and it was really tasty I would recommend this place if you are in NO HURRY at all. The arrival via the gondola and a personalized snow cat ride to the restaurant set the stage for a memorable dinner. We ate early so the service was prompt and food delivery was timely. Menu Highlight was clearly the lobster bisque - many delicious chunks of fresh lobster with a wonderful bisque The buffalo carpaccio was good but didn't have much flavor, could have used some more seasoning or sauce. The Coq au Vin was tasty but a bit dry. Would have been nice to serve it in a more traditional wine sauce for moisture. Unfortunately, B-/C+ this time. Our waiter frankly didn't wait on us. We had to seek out other staff (who were quite helpful) to fulfill everything from our wine order to rolls. By the way, their usually excellent rolls were quite hard this time. Also, our halibut dinner, while being well prepared, was short on risotto and sauce -- though again, the hostess fixed this. Presumably this was an off night and I would be willing to try it again. Just beware.I would recommend this to a friend.
