A great beer selection and pretty knowledgeable staff, and a pretty good menu, though nothing really jumped out as special. Our service was a bit slow despite it being a very quiet night, but the ambiance was nice so we didn't mind waiting too much.

First of all let me say Eulogy was a lot of fun and with 400+ beers available, if you are a beer person, it's great. However (and I take full responsibility for this and not reading enough about Eulogy) I thought it would be more of a restaurant. Make no mistake, it's a bar. Beers were great (I had the Busty Blonde). Energy was great - everyone was enjoying themselves (and I did too). But my husband and I (in our 50's) were definitely the oldest people there. We refer to ourselves as the "creepy old people in the bar." Food was above average bar food - fries (or should I say friettes?) were very good. Server was very busy but took good care of us. Enjoyable evening but not what we expected. Great place to hang out with friends.

Despite having one of their coolers broken, making a third of their bottles unavailable this place still had a great beer list. If what I wanted was unavailable our server was more than willing to suggest another beer of the same style. The waitress was attentive and knowledgable. I'll say the place doesn't look to inviting from the outside. There is a curtain that hangs in front of the door on cold nights so if you weren't planning on going there it's probably not a place you'd just come across and walk in. The upstairs is dimly lit and quieter than the bar downstairs. The food was good, fries stood out the most to me, but if I was to go again it would be for the beer.

The beer selection here is amazing, but the food was not good. Other than the fries, which I thought were delicious, the medium burger I ordered came out well done and the mussels my fiancé ordered were sitting in a tub of wine that tasted as if it hadn't been cooked down at all. I'll definitely come back for the amazing beer, but I'll think about eating somewhere else.

I am always satisfied with my visits to Eulogy. However, this time I went for a specific beer I saw on their menu, and they did not have it. Was a little disappointed by that, as I have looking for months for beers from this specific brewery, to no avail. :( But the food was great and of course, the other beers I had were great. Eulogy is still one of my favorite bars in the city.

Everything was right about this place except it was like 80-85 degrees in the upstairs where we had dinner and drinks. I took my coats off and had to unbutton my shirt because it was so hot. Sweating and eating friejtes and sausage and beer is not ideal to me. As we left we spotted that at the door there was a space heater on which baffled me. Overall this place was great but hot to an uncomfortable level. If they get the temperature right, it'd be perfect, but the heat might prevent you from enjoying the experience.

Eulogy is a great place for folks who want to enjoy some great beer in a bar type atmosphere. There is a food menu but this is by no means primarily a restaurant. After several attempts at calling places for 20 people I finally looked on opentable. I was looking for a good place for a dinner and some drinks with some friends. Eulogy was a great find. I booked it in 30 secs on opentable and was good to go. It has a tremendous beer selection. The waiter was very knowledgeable about many of the beers and my German friend was very impressed. We had apps and dinner. The apps and dinner food was good for a bar that had 300 beers but probably would not be fit for foodies. We had dinner upstairs where the table was a coffin. That was a nice touch. Overall the service was excellent as we stayed for probably 4 hours and had a great time. If you are looking for a great beer with a burger then this is the place.

Good if you like beer! Dining area is upstairs and they did not put any effort into decorating it. Shabby, grungy, not shabby chic. Fine for a dark bar not so nice if you are just sitting and waiting for food with kids. Mussels at Campbell's place or even goat hollow are way better. Felt like the ingredients for the sauce were just thrown together not actually cooked together. Lots of fries though but too fat!

This is a nice place if you want to try some different beers and have a bite to eat. The beer selection is extensive and the food is pretty good. We took a friend out for his birthday and he enjoyed the beer selection and loved the pan seared duck. My wife had the Ribeye and said it was ok; I had the fish and chips which I wouldnt order again because the batter was nasty and the little bit of fish left inside didn't warrant paying $16. We also split an order of mussels with bacon which were fantastic right down to the broth.

Eulogy was cool. It wasn't at all what we expected as it was far more laid back than the website might indicate. But it was so refreshing to be able to relax and peruse their beer list of hundreds of bottles. Where to begin?! Making a choice was fun in itself. As for the food, we decided to eat as a Belgian since we were in a Belgian bar. The food was quite tasty. It's not the same old fare you can get anywhere. Overall, it was a great experience.

Such a cool place. My daughter had traveled to Belgium and was able to find a variety of beers she fell in love while she was visiting there right here in Philly. Fish and Chips was amazing and a must have. We ordered dijon mussels as a starter that were plump and juicy and so flavorful. It was exactly what we were looking for…….. a place to unwind and enjoy after a hard week. Staff was so courteous and helpful. Although it got very crowed very fast, our reservations were honored right on time and we had great service.

Also, the fried calamari salad and mussels with mustard cream and garlic. The waiter was not too attentive or friendly and the place is dark and funky, but we liked that, it was not a problem. We've been there many times, though it's been a while since the last visit. This time, things just seemed off. The service was terrible. Requests for water and more bread were simply ignored. Worst of all was the noise level. Now, Eulogy has never been a quiet spot, but Friday was utterly insufferable, with a table of shouting inebriated clients next to us. I know... not Eulogy's fault... but, nevertheless, insufferable. There are other options for Belgian food and beer and that's likely what we'll pursue.

Before a show, friends and I stopped at Eulogy for dinner. The fries were magical and i'd recommend getting all the sauces with them (day i was there, there were 3 dipping sauces available for the fries). The beer list is a mile long so foodies and beeries alike can get down. Food came out quickly and everyone seemed happy. It's in the "Old City" so located on a cute cobble stone street in an old building. We got there around 6pm and it was still light out but it was hard to tell from inside Eulogy as it was very dark with think heavy drapes over the windows.

I've been going to this place for years, and it's truly one of a kind. The beer list (500+ of the best selections from America, Belgium, and anywhere worthwhile), the servers with their extensive beer knowledge, and the dijon mussels are what really set it apart. The rest of the food is pretty great too. The 2 things that I always make sure end up on the table are the dijon mussels and the hanger steak sandwich. Really all of their mussel preparations are solid, but the dijon is something I've never seen elsewhere. Great place to go with a group of friends, and I'd highly recommend sharing (both food and tastes of everyone's beers), because there are just way too many awesome things on the menus there to limit yourself to your own order.

Visited Eulogy on a Sunday night before attending The Cult at the TLA. Dined upstairs where the bar area was basically empty and quiet. Our server, Kate, was awesome! Offered some tips and recommendations on the beer selections, as well as a vibrant discussion on vacationing in Europe. Very personalized service based on the fact that we were her only table at the time. The place did get more crowded as our dinner progressed, but that did not diminish her level of service. The mussels were very good, with a decent portion, and the fries were great. The demi-glaze on the ribeye was a little overpowering, but overall, it was good.
