  • A beautiful evening, the food
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 4/12/2008
A beautiful evening, the food was excellent. All the seafood was super fresh and cooked delicately, the meats cooked to order and sauced to enhance. As a group the main criticism was on the service. Members of our party were dissapointed in the lags between courses and not being checked on. We actually passed on dessert, having waited so long to order it as to not want it anymore. Brian our waiter, was not one we would request on a return visit for this reason. At this calibre of restaurant, the service should be as good as the food.

their standard menu is to die for. However, for a truly memorable dining experience, try the testing menu. Executive Chef, Bobby Moore has amazing vision and execution. His pastry chef is a true gem as well.

We were there for lunch and didn't drink so I can't comment on the wine list. Since there is so little of note in Woodinville this is probably the only upscale place for lunch.

Coursed menu was good but felt rushed or as if subject to an assembly line that wasn't able to be paused. Probably could have communicated to staff that we were in no hurry and taken our average time of 15 minutes/plate to something more reasonable like 30.

Barking Frog was nice and we enjoyed our meal. But with most places of pretention, quantities were low for the price. I just expect something that costs $32 to fill my stomach. But, for that ambiance-filled night out, Barking Frog will fit the bill (no pun intended).

It was such a pleasure to dine at your fine establishment. My sister was visiting from Indianapolis, Indiana and has already made plans to come back with her husband for another wonderful experience. My whole office is a buzz since I reported back what a good time we had. Look for us in the near future! With a birthday coming up you can be sure that I will be back! Penny S Andrew

Fresh seafood entre was perfectly "just" cooked. The signature prawn appetizers are a melt in your mouth treat and delicately seasoned. Our waitstaff Ellen and Mary took excellent care of us; comfortable and not rushed. A memorable and delightful evening was had by all.

We really enjoyed our meal, but I do feel that the wine list was overpriced. We bought a bottle by Brian Carter Cellars for $58, then two days later bought it around the corner at the tasting room for $18 (on sale from $24 to make room for the new vintage). The wine was excellent and I expect a markup by the restaurant - but more than double?

Four of us were treated to a wonderful evening by our server, Justyna, who was knowledgeable about not only the menu but the wine list. She was helpful yet unobtrusive. We all had items from the 3 for 30 menu which was a very good value considering the regular menu high prices. All were prepared to order and the portions were substantial along with beautiful presentation. We could not have asked for a better evening except for the two of us who occupied the too soft padded fabric bench seats that leave much to be desired in allowing mobility and velcro "attached" back rests which continually came undone. We'll go back!

the layout of the dining room makes it hard to be 'private' when the tables are right next to each other as they are here. Not that is always a problem, but we were expecting a more intimate evening than what we had. We'll be back, just that we had a different set of expectations.

The Good: 1. Very good food; 2. Excellent service; 3. Nice visual ambience; 4. Pretty good deal if you get the March & November diner's special (don't remember the actual name: it's the program where various restaurants offer certain menu items for a greatly reduced rate); 5. Great wine list. The Bad: 1. Small entrees and desserts; 2. Rather packed with tables; 3. Extremely loud, even louder than T.G.I.Friday's; 4. Entrees a bit pricey, even without considering the size of the entrees and desserts.

Food was excellent. ambiance was pleasant Waitress was not on top of things. Took her 20 minutes to come and get a drink order. She kept disappearing for long periods and coming back breathing smoke over us. The rest of the staff were hustling about and I could tell that there was great potential for good service. We were just unlucky. Would definately return.
