Tasting menu was fine; tratment of the BBQ lamb was a bit heavy. Hard to justify even the Barking Frog's neighbor (Herb Garden) when you have to drive north from Bellevue @ 6pm - definitely not the restuarant's fault. If I lived locally, I try them again, 2-3 times to see their performance; the food definitely justifies a second visit.

The two person tables were very wide, so when you are sitting across from someone it is difficult to hear them and/or be romantic. The wine pairing was really wonderful, but some of the plates were just okay. I'd say the wine was the winner of the night. We had a couple be seated next to us that was in a fight. Took away some of the ambiance. Our waiter was nice, but very casual in his service. For the amount we paid, I would have thought we would have top-notch service.

Rude server, mediocre entrees, and shoddy service. My table was not crumbed, my water went unfilled, and the server was entirely ignorant of the food he set before us. Also, the price is outrageous considering the quality. The only bright spot was the sommelier, who was gracious and funny.

We had a wonderfully delicious romantic dinner until the two table next to us both arrived with small children. No offense, I have some myself, just would have preferred a little more private/intimate time on a sunday night. Or, to sit aways apart. It was our night "away from the kids". Service, superb!

Disappointing. Service was fine. Restaurant was very noisy. With the shape of the tables, two people out for dinner together are actually sitting rather a long way from each other - people at the next table are as close as the person you're out for dinner with. Food seemed to be more about appearance and presentation than how well the ingredients went together. For example, my wife's halibut dish included morels which overpowered the fish. I had the loin of lamb, which was good, but the accompanying risotto was mushy, no bite, and salty. Not what we had hoped for the special occasion we were celebrating.

The service was poor, affecting the overall experience. Waiter failed to check on us, did not explain the dishes. When the main course arrived, the food was placed on the table with no explaination other than stating the plates are hot. That was true, they were warm, and the food was cold. We waited so long between courses, we considered ording Dominos to see which would arrive first. Resturant management has failed to contact us regarding the poor service and qaulity of our experience at this fine establishment. Our experience fell well short of the hipe!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 4/12/2008
A beautiful evening, the food was excellent. All the seafood was super fresh and cooked delicately, the meats cooked to order and sauced to enhance. As a group the main criticism was on the service. Members of our party were dissapointed in the lags between courses and not being checked on. We actually passed on dessert, having waited so long to order it as to not want it anymore. Brian our waiter, was not one we would request on a return visit for this reason. At this calibre of restaurant, the service should be as good as the food.

Coursed menu was good but felt rushed or as if subject to an assembly line that wasn't able to be paused. Probably could have communicated to staff that we were in no hurry and taken our average time of 15 minutes/plate to something more reasonable like 30.

Barking Frog was nice and we enjoyed our meal. But with most places of pretention, quantities were low for the price. I just expect something that costs $32 to fill my stomach. But, for that ambiance-filled night out, Barking Frog will fit the bill (no pun intended).

We really enjoyed our meal, but I do feel that the wine list was overpriced. We bought a bottle by Brian Carter Cellars for $58, then two days later bought it around the corner at the tasting room for $18 (on sale from $24 to make room for the new vintage). The wine was excellent and I expect a markup by the restaurant - but more than double?
