Not really impressed. The food was good, but not great. I ordered the crab benedict, and it is something I could have gotten at Denny's. The service was "meh". We brought our daughter, and the server seemed put out when she had to get other things....like ranch sauce, or not nut bread, and it was rather slow. Probably would have been a good pace for romantic dining in the evening, but not so much with a kid for brunch.

When we first arrived in the morning to use the outdoor dining, we told the waitress we would like that table which has an umbrella, but she said no, to sit at this one which has no umbrella and in direct sun, as it needs to be cleared off and cleaned off from the previous people that had just left after eating. This tells us she don't want to clear the table off for us. We had very poor service from her, and when she came by once to ask how the food is, we told her the food that consist of eggs, ham and potatoes were way too dry and overcooked (The Mt. Rainer Breakfast). She said oh and just left and did not come back until bringing the receipt to be paid. We ate the best dinner there the night before and had the best service by Michael.

For the price, I expected the food to be better. It was good, but not great. My husband's $50 steak definitely was not worth that price...and, it came overcooked. My fish was very good.

The three of us college friends have been getting together for lunch for over 40 years at various places...this was one of the best of the best! We were warmly welcomed and the meals that our server recommended were AMAZING!!! We each enjoyed the wonderfully refreshing chilled cucumber soup & the fish cheviche tacos...OH, MY! And the desserts were simply to die for...with imaginative blends of ingredients that made for an absolutely unique and beautiful ending to our time there. Loved the whole experience!!!

Overall I enjoyed our lunch/brunch but the service was very slow, we did not get our bread until after we asked what others were being served after our main courses arrived. Also, I was not expecting a brunch only menu at 1pm on a Saturday and don't recall seeing it posted on their website that it was brunch time when we showed up. I was looking forward to the regular lunch menu not the brunch menu with eggs at 1pm. It was also very loud in the restaurant and hard to talk and listen at the table.

My wife and I have been going to the Barking Frog for our anniversary for many years and we have never been disappointed. I look forward to having their Grand Marnier prawn appetizer and often comment that I should just order two of them and treat it as my entree; however, you also cannot pass up their scallops! The wine selection is great and the service is excellent. The ambiance is very relaxed but you can feel comfortable in casual or formal attire. We will definitely continue to recommend this restaurant to everyone and will be returning again soon for at least a glass of wine and an appetizer!

We were hoping for a lot more. The service was good in the sense that they were friendly and attentive but they forgot one of the dishes we ordered. We both had fish (different kinds) and both preparations were very over cooked and dry. We expected more and were underwhelmed.

Went to barking frog for breakfast. Had reservations but were told no room outside. Then we were put at a table for 6 even though there were only 6 of us and even though there was a table for 4 close by. Our friends were vegan and menu was not conducive to vegan or vegetarian. Waitress seemed put out by having to adjust orders to be vegan and vegetarian even though it mainly just required leaving some ingredients out. Took a LONG time to get order. Price $74.00 for 4 people (no alcohol). Unhappy customer

We came here for our sixth year wedding anniversary. Our waitress was awful rushed us through the entire dinner and didn't explain anything on the menu. I tried to ask her several questions about the entrees but she did not describe the dishes and was not helpful.my husband had the beef tenderloin and loved it. I had the halibut the meat was delicious but was served on top of a broth that was not good and took away from the fish. We had the shrimp appetizer and that was delicious. Basically I think it is a good restaurant we were just unlucky to have a bad waitress. With drinks an appetizer, salad and entrees we were in and out in and hour 15 minutes and that was after I pushed her away twice saying we were not ready to order.

Stayed at Willows Lodge and had late dinner at Barking Frog. Fun restaurant and nice ambiance. As you would expect they have a large wine list with many Washington state wines. Service was very good. Food menu was a little light on variety/choices and main courses were not that interesting. Pork chop was very average. Brunch the next morning was better.

Sorry, but this restaurant is way over rated. Waited at least 10 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us after we first sat down, and the place was barely busy. Somewhat limited menu. Tried 4 or 5 different items, none of which I would recommend. Don't waste your money on the $50 steak - totally not worth it. You would expect a lot more for these prices. No, definitely not going back...

The fish and chips for lunch is tuna. Without thinking, when asked, I requested it be cooked medium-well. Tuna, ofcourse, is meant to be served rare or medium rare. It was way too dry. Aside from this snafu on my part, the rest of the lunch was perfect. We especially liked the curried-mussel and kalamensi dessert.

Good food. Restaurant was loud even though it wasn't full. Outside seating was packed. The table for two inside was too long and with ambient noise level it was hard to have an intimate conversation. The server was friendly but not real attentive. They did get slammed and it looks like they may have been understaffed.

We chose Barking Frog to celebrate my father's 85th birthday. As with many people that age, my mother and father both suffer from hearing loss that makes it particularly difficult for them to follow a conversation with heavy background noise. Recognizing this, we called ahead to request outdoor seating, so avoid some of the background noise. For whatever reason, the person taking the call seemed incapable of understanding the problem. Just before we arrived, the last outside table had been given away, and we wound up seated at a VERY noisy table next to the kitchen. This ruined what otherwise would have been a very pleasant evening. For the prices they charge, Barking Frog should have provided much better service.

Food featured interesting, even adventurous combinations but was bland and not well executed, especially for the price. Service was hot and cold, as if the wait staff needed more training. Have eaten here in the past and was impressed. Not this time. Restaurant seems to be relying on its beautiful location and its wine list and no longer applying much rigor to its main mission.

This is a new fave for my husband and I. Too bad it is almost 3 hours away from "home" but well worth the trip. We'll sure be doing more visits back here - for the prawns are addictive. Loved dining outdoors seated next to the "pond" with the glass first nations fish. And grapes on a vine hanging overhead! So romantic. And after a day of wine tasting we didnt' think we could try another, but their wine list was too tempting and we both chose a glass that was best of the day. And thanks to the staff for my birthday card. A special touch. As I said, we'll be back!

My sincere compliments for the food, service and overall experience at the Barking Frog. We dined here following a bicycle wine tasting tour, coupled with our stay at the Willow's Lodge for our Anniversary. Each course was expertly done to both our likings. From the Lobster Beignets to our Beet Salads and the mail dishes of Duck Breast & Tenderloin and finally Mascarpone Ice Cream and Chocolate dessert (#3 & 4 on the menu) every bite was savored. We truly think that attentive service plays a big part in the experience and Mike was spot on. We were never rushed as to enjoy each bite at our leisure and each course delivery was perfectly timed. Mike's recommendations & demeanor contributed greatly to this wonderful evening.

Barking Frog is a great spot for an upscale lunch. The prices are no more than double what I pay for lunch at very run-of-the-mill restaurants, but the food is some of the best I've had anywhere. That makes Barking Frog a fantastic value, in my opinion. The decor is modern and comfortable, the patio is great on a summer day, and the food and service are top notch.

Great good, good service! I had the crab benedict with a mimosa and my friend had a breakfast burrito. We were seated promptly and assorted breads with water right away. The server was very busy, but one of her partners took our drink order right away. Restaurant was full and therefore loud. I did not realize how small it was in size, but was able to hold a conversation. Food was good, arrived in a moderate time. Service was attentive. Enjoyable experience... better when some of the large parties left. Good for a celebratory dinning experience!

Fortunately, we were in no hurry to eat, as it took over an hour for us to be seated despite having reservations. The manager was genuinely apologetic for the situation and comped us a couple of horderves. The horderves were certainly the highlight of our meal. Our entrees on the other hand, were a big disappointment. The menu is surprisingly sparse, and my wife ordered duck, in the absence of any sort of chicken selection. The duck was tough, and virtually uneatable. My scallop dish was okay, however, the accompanying couscous medley was far too complex and overpowering. With so many excellent restaurant choices in the world, it’s safe to say, we will not be returning to the Barking Frog.
