  • The Chocolate Afternoon Tea

The Chocolate Afternoon Tea was just okay, at best. The price of $59 per person wasn't worth the quality of food presented. The finger sandwiches were disappointing and although there were numerous dessert selections, none of them were exceptional. However, the service and ambiance were very good.

This is expensive for what you get. I have had high tea for almost half the price nearby. I had been to this tea service many times when the hotel was the Ritz Carlton and it was always superb. This was my first time since the Langham acquired the property. The first offering was timely and then the service quickly went downhill. We sat for 45 minutes before asking the server if she forgot abbout us. We sat another hour after finishing, asking several times for the check. Doubtful I will be returning.

I took my mother and girls to Tea on Mother's Day. We had a wonderful time, between the fantastic pianist, great servers and staff I highly recommend this as to anyone who is a tea alcoholic like us. I don’t know what out favorite part was but for three hours you made three people very very happy.

Loved it! Kudos to the staff. The food and beverage were delicious, top-notch, then again that is something I will expect from a hotel of this caliber. As a customer, the friendly and customer-focused staff made all the difference. And, yes, the lovely view of the garden and the relaxing music made sipping that tea that much more enjoyable... I look forward to my next visit.

  • The setup was not suitable

The setup was not suitable for more than 2-3 people. Sitting on a couch and trying to eat over a coffee table was uncomfortable. Food was excellent but not enough sandwiches and too many desserts. The Piano Music was too loud - couldn't carry on a conversation with friends. The grounds and hotel were beautiful.

  • Delightful afternoon English tea
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 3/30/2012
One of the only English tea service in Los Angeles. Beautiful room with the elegance found in the great old hotels in London. The little sandwiches are Beautifully done and fresh and delicious. The three tier plate stand is a work of art when it arrives. Tea is served in large individual pots which tend to allow the tea to get cold but still are nice. I would use non metal pots to keep the tea warm longer. Though they do offer to fredhen the pot. Also they charge for a second pot $5 if you change you tea selection which is out of step with the london based afternoon tea services where you can select a different tea once you have finished the first pot. Makes sense as it doesnt cost them anything to make the second pot a different tea.

Was not happy with the vegetarian options for afternoon tea. It was very expensive for a couple pieces of bread with avocado. I would expect something a little more creative for $40.

I organized a tea here for my niece for her 16th birthday. We had a great experience. The reservation girl (Vickie) was very helpful. She helped me choose the appropriate teas for my guests and personalized the menu. The room was very beautiful and extremely comfortable, and the view was amazing. The sweets were excellent. Service was great too. Overall a wonderful experience for a special occasion and I would highly recommend it.

The sandwiches are beautifully displayed, creative and delicious, however would have liked more. The desserts came out afterwards and they were more than 50% more than the sandwiches. I would have liked just as many sandwiches. There were too many desserts that you could not enjoy them all.

  • I expected a different clientele.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005

I expected a different clientele. It was very quiet - too quiet really. The clientele was not regular tea goers but an eclectic crowd of casual tourists in jeans and ladies who lunch. The ambience because of clientele was a lot more casual than I wanted yet the few tea goers made the whole experience oddly quiet. I would come back, but not before trying out some other places first.

We went for afternoon tea and it was wonderful. The selection of finger sandwiches and pastries was great and tasted delicious. I don't think that they serve lunch at the lobby lounge so therefore limited as for checking special features above. Overall one of the best tea experiences.

We had the tea for lunch GREAT. MY only complaint two many desserts and not enough sandwiches. They should reverse it. I felt like I had a dessert fix. We took alot of desserts home. I asked for a window seat and did not get one when I made my reservation a while back. Although we had a nice table with a view. Don't get me wrong the place is beautiful and well worth it. I have been to alot of teas so I am able to compare them.
