Skillet Honey Butter Cornbread was a hit at our table. Spatchcock Chicken (Honey Thyme Glazed) and Skirt Steak and Enchilada were very good. Noise level was pretty high. Service was slow but hopefully that's because it's not been open very long. Will try again after a few weeks.

A promising start and certainly a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Like any newly opened restaurant, some kinks needs to be worked out. Service was spotty - fairly long wait for food; missing butter with biscuits; took companion's plate and asked whether we wanted dessert before I was finished with the main course. On the plus side, the food was tasty and they were accommodating in my request for two pieces of white meat chicken rather than mixed for the chix and waffles entree. Broad menu should please everyone. Not haute cuisine but a cut above Tower Oaks Lodge, and Matchbox (which has gone downhill quickly).

Very disappointing. The tables are so close I was literally touching the person next to us and on the other side was the waiter station that they put in their orders. Someone was standing next to me the entire time. We were ignored for nearly 15 minutes when we first sat down and they served my drink first then we had to ask for the drink for the other guest. Food was good but overall it was very loud and uncomfortable.

We had a bad experience with the service on our first visit to FF but the food was good so we thought that we would give this place a second chance. On our second visit,we had a reservation and we were seated right away.We waited 8 minutes before anyone even acknowleged us.The place was not crowded and it seemed that the wait staff was busy clearing tables.I ordered decaf and he order regular coffee. His arrived hot and good and mine was tepid and kind of bitter. We ordered the Bananas Foster pancakes and I order granola and yogurt and beignets. The food arrived and the pancakes were great hot and fluffy. The yogurt was 8 dollars and served on a small saucer. The beignets were good.We will not return to FF until they work out their service issues

If you live in the 'burbs and dine at the downtown Founding Farmers, the transition to the one at Park Potomac is seamless. Great food, great service whether you are dining alone or with a group. Parking on site is a huge plus. Nothing negative to report. First timers: it is noisy just like the one downtown. Get over it and have fun! Woo hoo, yumdillyicious!

The food was plentiful, which created a bit of a problem with the plate size. Beer was ordered, but took a long time to be served, also $8 for a glass of beer is a bit steep.I would like to try the restaurant again, will wait till it runs a bit less hectic. I sure hope you do well, we need a nice place to "dine" in this area.

I've dined at the Washington, DC restaurant several times and I was a little disappointed with my dining experience in the new Potomac restaurant. The new service staff needs some more training for sure. I tried the veggie burger and it was "mushy" and undercooked. I'll chalk the mediocre service up to a new staff, but the restaurant needs to improve to match its sister restaurant in DC.

We went for lunch and the service was ok. The woman was very nice, but kept forgetting to bring things to the table and was very slow. It took a very long time to get our food and when some of it arrived, we were missing 2 people's meals. It took well over 5 minutes for the other food to arrive. I've never seen food come out for some of the table and not the rest. The bright side was the mac and cheese was to die for, everything else was just ok in my opinion. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and they put some kind of pickle mixture on top. I hate pickles, so this was an issue for me. I was able to pick them most of them off, but I wish the menu had mentioned that. Overall, I would go back, but it wasn't the best experience.

I was disappointed that the server did not welcome us as they do in the DC restaurant by telling the "story" of Founding Farmers. It is a great story, about the fresh, local food and the LEED story as well. The server either knew nothing about the "history" or did not care to tell us. I had built this up for my guest. The server took way too long to notice that we were at one of her tables, about 10 minutes before she came over. Not good. The food was great. Good luck. I'm sure the service will improve.

Our area needs more great restaurants, but this isn't it - at least not yet. A simple Thursday night dinner took over 2 hours - 1/2 hour to get drinks, 45 minutes to get biscuits. One entree was sent out with a long-delayed and partial delivery of appetizers. Entrees, when they finally arrived, were just warmish. The food itself is okay, the value decent. If you love chicken potpie, beware: it's more like creamy chicken stew with split biscuit on top. And that menu: very teensy pale type that had all of us normally-sighted diners squinting to figure out what we were ordering. Maybe it's too many customers too soon, but if you go, arrive with plenty of time and patience.

Thought food wasfresh & inventive; but wine and food overall were expensive; the major down side was the noise level---the music is not necessary---and the crowd seen: it is not an intimate setting; if one wants to see everyone he/she knows, it is the place to "be.' if one wants quiet and more private setting, head elsewhere. Little too hip for me; the farm to table concept sounds good.

The restaurant was different, in a good way. They offer a twist on some traditional American dishes. The Patomac location is new, and they still have some kinks to work out with food preparation. My Ribeye was too salty, and the bread pudding was cold in the middle. Service was great, and I would give it another try down the road.

    Dined on 11/7/2011
We have been to Founding Farmers 3 times since the Potomac location opened. The food is good, although I think the portions are ridiculously large. Unfortunately, the service remains among the worst I have experienced. For breakfast today we waited at least 10 minutes after being seated before anyone approached the table. We had to wait a long time for cream after the coffee was poured. We had to ask for everything - butter, water, coffee refills, etc because the server didn't anticipate anything that we might need. Our first visit was for dinner shortly after the restaurant opened. We excused the poor service then, thinking they just needed to work out the kinks. Several months later, that excuse is not valid.

I have been to Founding Farmers three times. Three times a charm! The food gets better and better. I have been to dinner twice and lunch once. I hear brunch is to die for:) The service is getting better is probably the only bad thing that I could mention. There is something on the menu for everyone. Whether it is a family outing, date night, girls night out, or just dinner with friends, you are sure to have a FANTASTIC TIME. The General Manager Kathy makes you feel like you are home. She stops by to see how your meal is and makes you feel like you live in a small city rather than the DMV. I met her once on opening week,a month later she stopped by - remembered my name and thanked me for coming back - what more can u ask for!!!

The food was absolutely delicious, but the service wasn't. It's brand new, so we'll give them a chance to adjust. With a reservation, we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The waitress took our appetizer and drinks order and brought the drinks before we ordered dinner. The appetizer, soup, salads and entrees were all served at the same time. (Good thing we hadn't ordered dessert or that probably would have come too!) There was barely enough room on the table. After she saw what happened I think she was embarrassed to come back to the table, so we didn't see her again till we were finished with everything.

We were there the opening weekend, and expected some glitches, but it was much worse than we expected. They didn't have the reservation we had made on Open Table, the heating system was broken and pouring cold air on us, and the food we wanted to order wasn't available because the oven wasn't working. If the food had been excellent we would want to go back to see if things got any better, but since the food was only so-so, I doubt we will return.
