  • It was my husbands birthday

It was my husbands birthday and I wanted to take him out for a special dinner at a seafood restaurant. My husband ordered Lobster Linguini - which contained not one piece of lobster, but did have 5 pieces of shrimp. The waitress did bring out a little bowl of lobster so that he could add it - but this did take away from the experience.

Great Seafood; very fresh! We found this restaurant after searching for a great seafood restaurant in Denver (which was almost non-existant). My husband if from San Francisco and I am from NY and it is very hard to find somethig fresh out here. We have no been to Max Gill and Grill twice in the past 3 months and it is worth the drive from Aurora. The waitstaff is very friendly and prompt and the seafood is wonderful. The last time we were there my husband got Monk fish and I got the Lobster roll-both were exceptional!

When most restaurants won't take a reservation, this was GREAT to reserve a table on line and ensure it was waiting at the time we need it. Especially since we had a concert to be at right after dinner. Also Food was wonderful.

Overall, not a bad place. The bar, which was very close to our table, was very loud (music & televisions). The food and service are good. Drinks are a bit pricey for what you get. Of course, parking is impossible for all restaurants in that area but they try to compensate with valet service.

When we first arrived we were promptly seated and we ordered drinks. The waitress returned without our drinks but took our order. We asked about their oysters and were told they had three different varieties. We ordered two of each kind. Five minutes later the waitress came back and said they were out of one of the three, so we decided to just order three each of the original two varieties. Five minutes later the waitress returned and said she made a mistake and said they were actually out of two of the original three. So we ordered three of the original variety and three of some other variety that she mentioned. The waitress then returned five minutes later with our oysters. Finally, 20 minutes later we received our drinks!

The menu is obviously heavy on the seafood but the range is huge. It covers soups, salads, raw bar, fancy appetizers to fish tacos and fish and chips and more traditional fresh fish plates. There is something for everyone and every mood. The cozy atmosphere makes you feel like you are dining in someone's study or library. The patio is great too.

Thank you for letting us stay for a while after dinner to talk. I realize that restaurants like to move patrons through and keep the business churning, especially on a Friday. We had an important topic to discuss, and we appreciated your patience!!

I have eaten at this restaurant before, and liked it much better. Our waiter was very attentive, but didn't serves one of the sides (and my dining companion didn't want to mention it). Additionally, I told the host that we were celebrting the birthday of a member of our party, and that was forgotten or ignored.

The wait staff paced us, allowing to not only go over the great menu but enjoy our food with minimal interruptions. The noise was level was considerate and the overall atmosphere was very "colorado." The food was amazing, and well worth the wide price range of the menu. The dishes were unique and the portions were awesome. I will be back!

We had a celebration event at Max and the food was very good, and we were more than well taken care of. The menu is large, and varied, and everyone can find something on the menu they like. Everyone in our group ordered something different, and we all shared and loved it all. We all felt this restaurant would be one that we high recommended.
