My husband, three year old and I spent our family Valentine's Day meal here early Saturday evening. Service was prompt and friendly and I was pleasantly surprised that they had a children's menu. They offered to bring my son his meal as soon as it was ready, and it was done fast. He scarfed down the cheeseburger in short order. I had the filet mignon with the herb butter. The filet was prepared perfectly and I loved the frites and creamed spinach. My husband tried the burger with chili and a fried egg. It was messy, and he complained that the chili was actually a bit sweet, but on the whole, a juicy and tasty burger. Service was pleasant, prompt and friendly. We will be back to this neighborhood spot.

I went alone for steak which was mildly awkward because the waitress asked me if I was waiting for someone and when I said no, she asked if I wanted to have some food, as if I could only want to drink because I was out alone. Other than that, the food was good, but the portion size was enormous. The NY Strip steak is worth having, especially with the garlic-herb butter. Nice location, nice ambiance. Best for groups of adults, though I saw some children there.

I love this place for HH or just a more relaxing bar experience which is why I figured I'd give dinner a try. I rarely treat myself to expensive meals (above $20 for an entree) so when I do, I'm hoping that it's worth the money. I ordered the NY Strip for $26 and it was OK. Nothing special. I did enjoy the blue cheese butter that was served on top of the steak but I won't be eating here again if I have a say in the matter. This might sound like blasphemy to some people but I would much rather eat at Outback and end up walking away with extra money in my pocket. For a 'Steakbar', I was pretty disappointed.

We went to LoHi for a nice Christmas Eve dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Our server was great and so friendly. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were so tender. Don't add salt to your stead and fries because they are already seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend dining at LoHi!

Although a bit outside of our neighborhood (we live in the Tennyson area), we try to frequent LoHi Steakbar. The atmosphere is vibrant, food is good and the service is outstanding! Our last visit was Christmas Eve. Our server, Rebecca, could have been angry and disappointed about working on a holiday but that was far from what she openly presented. She was upbeat, helpful and fun in conversation. My recommendations? The Steakbar Steak. It comes with a choice of house made sauces and really good french fries (although I LOVE their baked potato as a swap). My husband is a big fan of the burgers. Again, the burger is served with a large serving of french fries. Lastly... don't forget dessert!! All desserts are house made :)

Dining area located directly next to sports bar and two windows in the dining room covered with plastic and duct tape equal zero ambience. Server was clueless and inattentive, but other servers covered for him, which was both thoughtful and courteous. Saving grace was the meat; flatiron and filet were both very good.

Went for a work lunch and sat in the bar area, which had one other seated table in it. The restaurant was pretty dead. It took forever for our server to come take our order. Forget about her refilling drinks. When the food was delivered, the eggs on my benedict were completely cooked through. The potatoes were greasy. And then, my absolute pet peeve: the slow, inattentive waitress said she was leaving and switching us to another server. With all the great dining options in Denver, I'll never go back here. So glad it was just colleagues and no clients dining with me.

My co-workers and I visited on my birthday last week and we were all very pleased with the ambience and the terrific food. The hummus is excellent! The blackened fish (trout) that I had was one of the best fish dishes I've had in my year here in Denver. And coming from San Diego (where I had fish regularly), I'm really picky. Our waitress was personable and helpful. I'll be back with my husband (and maybe even if the kids) soon!

My 88 year old mother was visiting and the older she gets, the pickier she becomes about food so it's hard to find a restaurant that makes her happy. Going to the LoHi was a no brainer! She had a open faced steak sandwich with a side salad, and enjoyed both. I had a filet mignon with fries and a small kale salad. The kale salad was overdressed and the dates were mushy, which was disappointing. The service was excellent, as was the drink special of the day, Dark and Stormy. The portions are just right and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant has a great ambiance and the wait staff is eager to please. I only wish I lived closer. :)

Very accommodating. The food is very consistent. Steak is always good. If you want something done a certain way/substituted, they do it. The French onion soup is a great version. The sausage-stuffed mushrooms are very good. The hummus is very good. Both of their salad bases are very good. They make a great jalapeno margarita house cocktail that is very good.

We made reservations at LoHi on our way to the theater. We were greeted enthusiastically, seated promptly, and provided with water and a menu within minutes. The service was fast, and the food was delicious. My husband had the perfectly seasoned and prepared 1/2 chicken. I had the pork chop with kale salad and sweet potato, which was out-of-this-this world...delicious. We didn't have time to return for dessert after the play, so we're planning a dessert tour at LoHi in the near future!

I was pleasantly surprised at the steak I had. I haven't found a moderately priced steak that was as tender as this cut was that night. It was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Served with french fries was a little "Steak House" style whereas a choice of potato and veggie would give this selection a better grade. $1.00 oysters started us off and were fantastic. The service came from all angles. We had a main waitress but a series of servers including the manager. All in all..... I will be back !

Meh... Our waitress was cold and unfriendly to say the least. Food was mediocre, and I could tell our server would rather be ANYWHERE else than serving us. If she gave me her name, I can't remember it. Which says a lot about our experience. She wasted no time going over any sort of specials, or drink menus, or anything really. We go to places again and again b/c of the service, and I can't say we'll be back here anytime soon.

Our group ordered steaks, the salmon salad and the chili. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the bernaise sauce was a fantastic pairing with the meat. The salmon salad was delicious and a nice presentation. Everything was wonderful, except I would not recommend the chili, it was rather bland. The restaurant was quite noisy, which made for difficult conversation at our table at times. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the manager was on top of things and made sure all tables were satisfied with their meals. I intend to go back.

    (1) The steak salad arrived at the table without dressing - an honest mistake, yes, but still a pretty dopey oversight given the place was near empty. (2) The meat on the salad was tasty but scarce - unacceptable at a restaurant with "steak" in its name. For the price, I expect a much better ratio of star ingredients - steak + bleu cheese - to lettuce. (3) We requested some bread with our salads and the waitress appeared somewhat flummoxed, as if nobody had ever made such a "radical" request. She finally came up with the idea of offering some flatbread, which did the trick nicely but which, c'mon, should have been part of the original presentation - the fact we had to ask for it tells you something about the customer service focus here.

We went for brunch and I'm glad we did. I ordered a giant mimosa for $6 to start. Be careful as it's about 90% champagne. You could barely taste the orange juice, but it'll definitely give you a nice little buzz after one. For my meal I got the steak & eggs. It comes with a nice sized steak and eggs cooked to order on a bed of french fries. I love shoestring fries so I felt it was a good pairing and the steak was seasoned nicely. Great value for the meal.

LoHi is overall a very good place. Atmosphere, location, food and drink selection are notable. It was quite loud, but I tend to like places where its easy to hear the conversation. I could with certain effort even though I was dining across from my date. Trendier people might not find this an issue. Both my date and I ordered the steak salad which I would say was good, fresh and presented well. Flavor-wise it just needed some pizazze though, ceratinly tasty but not raving great. The waitresses were excellent and patient, checked in, but didn't hover or pressure as we leisurely dined and talked. So yes, I would easiely recommend. Very good, but just a bit off great experience.

We love LoHi Steakbar. Maybe it's because we watched this area grow from practically nothing to the vibrant night spot that it is. Or maybe it's because the food is so darn good. Steaks are delicious with a choice of sauces and the burgers are fantastic as well (especially the Blue Smoke). Try the bleu cheese fondue or the Polidori sausage stuffed mushrooms to start. The noise level is pretty high here. So, if you're looking for a nice quiet spot to dine this is not the place for you.

We went very early so there were only a few tables seated. We didn't really get a sense for the ambiance but the decor was nice. We were seated promptly but it took about 20 minutes for someone to come take our order or talk to us. I guess our waitress said it was a miss communication but there were at least 3 other waitresses who actively ignored us to prep for the day. If anything made up for it, it was the food. Pastramis hash and a bacon and bleu cheese burger were tasty and cooked perfectly. Thank God we waited the extra two minutes and didn't leave. I'd recommend this place for the food alone and commend the kitchen.

We had an early dinner, 4 PM. The restaurant was essentially empty, but it took someone almost ten minutes to even acknowledge us. The steak was nothing special, the waitress said that's what they are know for so I ordered it. Had the filet, was actually a little tough. My husband had the steak and frites, the frites were soggy. I ordered the cream spinach with my steak, it was not creamed at all, just sauteed and bland. The best part of the meal was the house salad, very fresh and the dressing was great. Didn't waste our time or money on dessert, went elsewhere. LoHi was fine, but nothing worth a return visit with so many great restaurants around.
