They're still going through the new phase, but I have no doubt that they will be top notch and 5 stars within the year like Whisknladle is. Love the coffee bar for brunch, delicious bloody mary's and the excellent staff. The location on the second floor looking out over Little Italy is cool, too. I am SO happy that this neighborhood has turned around over the last few years and actually has places worth visiting to eat. Keep up the great work, we'll be back.

This place is definitely great when it comes to ambiance and mood. It was a great spot to try with my boyfriend. We ordered a bottle of wine and talked for a couple hours. But, I did not feel like I got much food for the price. The meal comes with no accompanying sides. I literally got a piece of chicken. I just wish we would have known to order an appetizer first. Also, the food came out in 10 minutes. It was so fast, but inconvenient as we had ordered wine. The food quality was great and the service was really top notch.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 3/3/2012
It is awesome to have all these new restaurants opening in Little Italy. I live at the Bayside building on Pacific Hwy and Ash, and the ability to walk to a great dinner is the best. The entire staff is friendly, supportive and responsive. The food was also great--had the swordfish and ravioli. My only complaint is the bank of seats I was in, which are directly behind the bar, would benefit from a plexiglass kind of wall over the framing between these seats and the bar--the noise from the bar made conversation difficult at the table.

Food was great, service was good. Saturday is a "scene" in the bar so if the "Noise" rating had a "bring ear plugs" choice, that's what I would have chosen.

The waiter was attentive and the. Food was good. The sausage stuffed squid and purple couliflour soup were unique and well done. The price was a little high and they have less than ten entres on the menu which is my only gripe. It was a vibrant lively atmosphere but didnt seem too crowded as the tables are spaced nicely. Overall. A fun and satisfying experience. Thanks

    Dined on 2/29/2012
The only issue I've had is that at each of this restaurant group's location space/spacing has always been uncomfortable. They seem to like to cram diners together and seat different parties all very close to one another even though the restaurants aren't necessarily full. I can understand needing to place tables very close to one another so as to maximize the characteristicly small & intimate space that this restaurant group has in commom, but it's a fine line between cozy and just plain practically already sitting at the next party's table. It's never fun to not be able to engage & enjoy in your own table's conversation because you're forced to listen to and content with the other 2 tables' conversation right next to you.

We were seated an hour early at a great table. Our server, runners and even mgmt checked in on us often. The service was fluid and right on. The scallops were super fresh, flatbread was beautifully crisp and light, mussels and the jus was bread-dunking-tastic! The chef sent us a sample of the patatas bravas, which are only served in the bar... which I will now dream about eating, until I actually am. What a great place! I see myself here for many happy hours and dinners to come.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 2/25/2012
Ridiculously noisy and too dark. I couldn't see the chicken bones in my entree and nearly choked a couple times. And having any conversation was completely out of the question. We basically had to scream or just sit and stare at each other. We had to use our phones for light to read the menus (and we're in our 30s). The cocktails are great as is the service, but the portions were small and the meat quality was extremely fatty. I can only recommend this place for happy hour.

Sat at the bar during the lunch rush. The bartender (John if my memory serves correct?) was extremely helpful and didn't mind that I took a bit of time perusing the menu. I noticed the beer selection had a good amount of local brews, and the cocktail list also looked delightful--similar to that of Whisknladles, if you have been there before. Ordered Mary's chicken, which did not disappoint. The skin was crisped to perfection, and sat on top of wonderfully smooth mashed potatoes and caramelized brussell sprouts. I am definitely planning a return trip, maybe for a late night happy hour.

Great neighborhood Gem! Hands down one of coolest places to dine in Little Italy. Water is served infused with cucumber in old quart sized milk jars. Food is very good with alot of special attention to detail. The kitchen is viewable from the bar area and it looks like a sceene out of No Reservations- A real great place I highly recomend!

Overall, I enjoyed my first time dining at Prep Kitchen; the food was great (loved the butternut squash ravioli and bread pudding) and our server was very friendly. The decor at Prep Kitchen is unique with beautiful woodwork and a nice mix of vintage and modern touches. I love the mini herb plants in the window sills! The only complaint I have about ambiance was our table location - we were seated near the staircase and felt a chilly draft the entire evening as people exiting the restaurant kept leaving the door open downstairs. I felt we should've been seated at a better table since we made a reservation. The only other complaint I have is that my friend had to ask for his glass of wine twice after everyone else already had their drink.
