A word from Gallagher's Steak House - Atlantic City
Gallagher's Steak House & Gallagher's Burger Bar have opened at The New Resort. The first Gallagher's opened in Manhattan, when Helen Gallagher, a former Ziegfeld Girl, & her husband, Jack Solomon, opened their dining room in 1927. Gallagher's Atlantic City has retained elements of the original. Dark cherry hardwood floors & paneled walls complement the dark leather booths. Hanging red-domed fixtures provide adequate light for the well-dressed customers. Gallagher's is a treasure for anyone who loves old photos of yesterday's stars.
Gallagher's Burger Bar features gourmet burgers made from Gallagher's aged sirloin, the menu also includes a variety of salads and Kobe beef burgers. Enjoy the best burgers around while watching your favorite sporting event on our 10 flat screen TV’s. Located on the "Dining Level" of The New Resort, Boardwalk & North Carolina Avenue.

I have eaten at a lot of Steak Houses in my day and this was the most disappointing experience I have ever had. This reservation was supposed to be a very special one for my 30th birthday. It took them over 15min to seat us where we had to sit and wait 10 min to place a drink order and the resteraunt was empty. I ordered a 48$ aged steak and it was not cooked to the right temp and was quite fatty. I went to this resteraunt with such high hopes and was disappointed the entire way. I will not be eating here again. You can get a better steak at Outback Steakhouse

Fairly slow night. Taken to table in back of dining room about as far back as possible when plenty of tables closer were available. Person with me was elderly and had obvious trouble walking. Seated right next to two very noisy males telling stories to Hostess sitting with them that was also manager. Distracting and ruined the experience. Porterhouse ordered medium rare and half came out well done, the waitess agreed as she saw it even though manager came to the table to question sending it back. Took forever for a new one to be made and ended up just taking it home. Only the waitress appologized, manager was a bit gruff. Always go to Gallagers in New York but would not return to the AC location. Will spend the next $150 somewhere else.

  • Good meal overall -- bacon/spinach

Good meal overall -- bacon/spinach salad terrific. Creamed spinach very good but not hot. Same with the mashed potatoes. Steak very good, but served not very warm-I had medium rare, and indeed it was red in the middle, but actually not that warm... medium rare can be cool in the middle, but the outside was not warm... disappointing. Dessert was excellent, though, sticky toffee and ice cream and the coffee was great. Service was beyond the call of duty -- restaurant was out of Yuengling and the waiter got some from next door. Awesome.

I am not a meat eater, so I can not comment on the steaks, but the fish was good. I would not consider the meal a great place to eat, but it certainly is not a bad place for dinner.

This was our first time to Gallagher's and it turned out to being the best dining experience we ever had. We usually go to the Old Homestead (AC) or Spark's (NYC). We started with a 2 lb lobster which was to die for. Then my wife had the Cowboy steak (perfect) and I had the Lamb Chops (Amazing) with baked potato and potatoes au gratin (very good) all served with a wine called Stump Jump (awesome & inexpensive). We will definitely return, often.

Gallagher's is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. It was the perfect setting for a Valentine's Dinner. The meat is cooked at the precise temperature and is just the right sized portion. Beverage-wise, the Sparkling Water from Norway was memorable. The baked potato was the biggest I've ever seen with the best tasting Sour Cream. Dan, the waiter was really friendly and was very attentive to any needs we had. Overall a nice Vday dinner and experience at Gallagher's. Thank you.

Expensive (as to be expected from a New York prime caliber steakhouse), slightly better than good service, above average wine list for California reds (a little weak on big Italian reds - Barolos / super-Tuscans etc). For those thinking "Ruth's Chris" or "Morton's", Gallaghers is right on par & because its still family-owned, has the benefit of a slightly more professional wait staff. We left thinking "not as good as the one in New York, but still very good".

We went to the Gallagher's in Las Vegas, which was absolutely amazing, steak melting in your mouth amazing. The one on Atlantic City was almost as great, a 10 on a scale of 10 (Vegas was like a 20 on a scale of 10, just nothing could ever compare.) There is one in NY which we plan on visiting soon. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, as well as suggesting try all of the franchise locations!

Excellent food, they were short staff that night, so we had a minor problem with service, they did comp us wine. Hostess not as friendly as I would have liked her to be upon entering, but she was attentive, and she got us our wine and comped it to us, which was good, because although, we told our waiter we would like wine after our martini and with dinner, he did not come back to even ask how our dinner was. When we got the wine from the hostess, he never apologized for forgetting us, and I sensed an air with him. It was a busy night, but we were spending a lot of money, and should not have been ignored. I think though, they made it up to us. We still left him a nice tip.

The food was excellent, NY-style steakhouse. Service was good, although a bit slow between soup/salad and entrees. They were extremely accommodating on a Saturday night switching us to 6 from 8 people and from 7 to 8, then 8:15. Definitely recommend it, even if I would not recommend the hotel/casino that surrounds it.

Gallgher's never fails to disappoint us with both professional, courteous service, and delicious food. The pork chop is one if the best I ever tasted, pink on the inside (medium), moist, flavorful and a hint of pepper on theoiled outside. We've eaten the lamb chops, steaks, roasted chicken and all were excellent. For AC this is a great steakhouse without the pomposity.

I thought our waiter was excellent. The hostess with dark hair was demeaning and rude. We had reservations and she told us in a rude manner that it would be at least 5-10 minutes. We did not care as it was Memorial Week-end but she could have directed us to the bar to have drinks until the table was ready and she could have had a smile on her face. A second hostess arrived with blonde hair and when she saw us waiting we were taken immediately. She apologized for the wait and for the other hostess. I am sorry that I do not know the names of the hostesses. We thought the food was good but not exceptional. I am glad we tried Gallghers but still prefer the Palm. Thank you!

Very disappointed. Steaks not cooked to order. Waitress displayed annoyance when we asked to have it cooked as ordered. You shouldn't have to send a meal back 3 times to get it cooked medium well. When it was finally cooked as ordered, it was not very good at all. What can you do to ruin a filet mignon? Ask Gallaghers, because they did times three. I thought Gallaghers was on the same scale as Mortons, Ruth's Chris and Shula's, but I've had better meals at Outback for less than half the price.

We were disappointed, we eat at the Homestead a lot and were trying to branch out. We have eaten in Las Vegas & NYC at Gallagher’s and were satisfied. This time the food was fair, my NY Strip was tough, the service poor. We were delivered an appetizer without plates to eat it off of, our steaks came without steak knives to cut them with, and there was a party at the end of our room that was extremely drunk, load and somewhat belligerent. The management did little to nothing to control it. Not sure if we would visit this establishment again, which as a NY Gallagher is disconcerting. Thanks Sean Gallagher
