We visited Cafe Miro for the first time because we had a gift certificate to use. We were pleasantly surprised by this gem of a restaurant and not only do we intend to return for dinner, we also plan to purchase gift certificates for our other friends. The service was awesome and the food was perfect in all respects. Can't wait to try more of their dishes!

  • Interesting fusion of Euro-Asian

Interesting fusion of Euro-Asian food. Not in-your-face fusion, it is subtle and very well done. Portions for the Prix Fixe were generous too. The Lamb, was perfectly done. Service was beyond expectations and every server in the place must have visited our table at some point! Not intrusive, just attentive.

Excellent Food and Service. The set menu offers a variety of choices. I had the rib eye steak with the wine sauce and it was the best. We will be back again for sure.

Great experience. The food was amazing. The ambiance was fair. A few changes like dimming the lights and changing the table cloths to white linen would improve the experience in my opinion. Can't wait to go back.

Always consistently great food. Service was not as good as previously experienced due to the heavy holiday peak dining time. Nevertheless the food was great.

  • Outstanding!

    Dined on 12/23/2011
This was my first time dining at Cafe Miro and I loved it. This has easily become one of my favorite special occasion restaurants. The food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the 4 course Chef Menu and each dish was outstanding. I also ordered my rib eye steak with the daikon fusion sauce well done and it was still so tender! Our waiter was professional, but very friendly. Towards the end, the restaurant started to get busy so the service slowed down a bit (thus the 4 stars) but definitely not a deal breaker. The ambiance felt very homey and relaxing which we enjoyed, but I thought the lighting was a little too bright for a romantic date. Overall, I would come here again and I'm excited to try all the other dishes!

Tres Bien mes amie, Saiko! Celebrated the wife's birthday, the pate was exceptional - better than La Mer! Every course & wine was excellent, taste/presentation/service much more than what you would ever expect. Chef Kobayashi does well to please the customers, I am sure at least 99% return rate. 6 star Restaurant at a 4 star price!

Modern fusion cuisine is not my favorite.. Most "fusion" places I've gone to the food was mediocre. That being said, I love Cafe Miro, it's the only fusion restaurant I've been to where the food tasted really good. Chef Kobayashi knows how to do fusion right. For me, Cafe Miro is a guaranteed sure thing. The foie gras don and foie gras sauteed in truffle and butter are my favorites and I must always order one of them when I go. Everything else there is excellent too!

Never knew about this wonderful little restaurant in Kaimuki, appeared nothing more than a hole-in-a-wall diner from its exterior. Once walked in...what a great find! My friend & I were pleasantly surprised as to why we haven't ever even heard of them. Despite that was our first visit, all the staffs treated us as if we were regulars. They were very polite yet friendly, extremely helpful & attentive, absolutely impeccable. They do not offer a la carte menu unless you dine at the bar but the food selection within prix fixe was overwhelming. I disagree with some negative reviews about the style of cuisine. Everything we had was exquisite with "a kick" of Asian which we found it highly innovative & phenomenal. Will definitely return!

Excellent. Beautifully prepared food, presentation and service great. 3 or 4 course set menus, but they are very flexible about which courses you can choose. Highly recommended. Only quibble is I wish they had more French wines on their list. They had a nice Chablis by the glass that went very well with the seafood courses, but the reds are limited to mainly California and a few pricey and newer vintage Bordeaux. The seafood salad and the braised tongue were outstanding.

I loved the comfortable and friendly feel and the freedom to choose items from both sides of the prix fixe menu. The rack of lamb was extra special, as was the seafood medlley salad. The food had the right combination of preparation and delicious sauces to accompany it. A wonderful find in a neighborhood restaurant. I would return to try some of the other entrees that also looked so appetizing.
