Awesome, real food. Great for vegans as well as non. This is our favorite date night restaurant! Love it, love it, love it!! Downsides... it is expensive... really expensive. Not suitable for families. And we found the dining area very loud.

My daughter and I absolutely loved Vedge! Every plate was beautifully prepared and delicious. The service was very attentive but not pushy, and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered every question we had about the individual plates. The small to medium size of the dishes made it perfect for sharing and tasting, and we left room for dessert...the sticky toffee is to die for!! We will be back!! Even though we were there at the moment of opening at 5:00 pm due to our schedules, we were treated treated so kindly.

The concept of small plates allows for creative, inspired dishes. We started with the Rutabaga Salad which was unique, fresh, and delicious. Then we ordered the Gojuchang Tofu, Brussels Sprouts, Grilled Seitan, and Cauliflower. Each dish was more savory than the next! The sauces were mouth-watering! The Gojuchang Tofu was amazing and the Grilled Seitan served with Lentils was delectable. Also, the Cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts were cooked to perfection in a distinctive style. The service was friendly and informative and we were allowed to review the menu at a leisurely pace. Finally, a restaurant that you do not have to ask if there is any hidden beef or chicken broth or dairy. We can eat everything on the menu! We will return, soon!

This was our first visit to Vedge and we were blown away! First, the newly renovated building is simply gorgeous. A classic black-white color scheme, marble-topped bar, high-end finishes are all stunning. We were greeted promptly and warmly. Next, the unique menu is even more unique by the way the dishes are presented. Our server was friendly and helpful, and guided us through the choices. We (2 of us) shared 5 dishes ~ some light, some hearty ~ and saved room for dessert. Being able to eat dessert is such a treat for us as every other restaurant's options are all dairy. So many choices, everything perfectly prepared. What a delightful experience!

Great restaurant. Unique choices. Excellent service. To get a full meal, you'll have to get 2-3 dishes so it can get a little pricey. That's the only downside. I had a really great experience. Would go again ASAP!

We were very disappointed. We had dined at Vedgje twice before and the food was excellent. We ordered two dishes that we ate previously and neither was up to par. Actually both were fair at best. We were seated next to a large group with two screaming children. While acknowledging the situation, the management did not offer to move us to another table even though there were tables available. Needless to say, we will not return.

  • Tasty vegetables, in tiny portions
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 1/23/2012
The food in Vedge is definitely delicious. They do know how to cook their vegetables, and we thoroughly enjoyed each dish we tried. Regretfully, there is one issue I have with their food that detracted from my enjoyment of the meal there: portion sizes are really too small. Even after getting 3 plates each from the mains, including the more filling dishes with tofu and seitan, and then a dessert, I left the restaurant a bit hungry and felt bit cheated for 60$ per person (inc. tip). I do get the concept of small plates, but they could easily be 30% bigger, and still fall into the "small plate" category.Other than that, I liked the atmosphere in the place, and the service was good but a bit on the slow side.

Vedge was everything it claims to be and more. The service--from the moment we walked in the door--was outstanding. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding. We each (table of 4) had three dishes, one larger and two smaller each. In retrospect, we could have done with 2 each and have to share a dessert--which was so good (sticky toffee pudding), we wish we had more room left (hence cutting back to two dishes on the entrees/appetizers). Beer selection was lovely--recommend the oatmeal beer unreservedly.

I was very excited to try VEDGE. I am not a big fan of "mock" meats so it was refreshing to see a restaurant venture to offer vegan-only fare minus the soy general tso's chicken. It is tapas style, so you need a few plates each (two of us got 5 plates and that was not enough). It is pricier than I expected (tapas are about $9 each). The food is amazing and delicious--absolutely, but you just don't get a large portion. I think they could add some bean purees or something more substantial as a side to some of the elegant tapas and make them more filling and not more expensive for the restaurant. Don't leave without trying desert, the Sticky Toffee Pudding is delish. I will go back but not as often as I would like due to the price tag.

I think an obstacle that Vedge must overcome is all of Horizons' former clientele comparing the two. The food really isn't all that different, just smaller, and much of the staff is the same. The food is fabulous and the venue is gorgeous, yet there are some kinks left to work out. The noise level was a bit obnoxious, even considering it was a Saturday night - Vedge is supposed to be fine dining and maybe my definition of fine dining needs some work, but I don't want to have to raise my voice to talk to my husband across the table due to slightly too loud "ambient" music combined with loud parties of 4+. I like Vedge, but it is not at the same level Horizons was - not yet.

Overall our dinner was very good. Portions were described as being "tapas style"...however, how dishes were served was not really condusive to sharing...although we made it work Food was very creative and inventive and kept the real inherent quality of the vegetables intact Only real negative comment was that the pour size on the wines by the glass seemed short of what it could have been for the price!

When we arrived, we were taken to a high table at the back that had backless stools. I asked to be seated at a regular dining table and was told that people are seated at those tables in the order in which they made their reservations for the appointed time. I was not told this when I made the reservation. When I said that I couldn't sit on the stools because of recent knee surgery, I was told that nothing could be done. The mgr. brought an ottoman, and attempted to squeeze it under our table. This did nothing to make me more comfortable. We ended up being comped for our beers, but that did not cancel the rude service and bizarre seating policy. I guess diners should be warned to make reservations 6 months in advance. How pretentious

The noise level bothered me a bit. While it was quite energetic and tables were somewhat close together, there were few enough tables that you couldn't have a conversation without feeling like the next table was listening in. This is in contrast to other high-energy / close-tabled restaurants that I've been to (e.g., Barbuzzo) where the whole room is just so lively that you have to speak loudly but aren't concerned with privacy. Food was good, although portions were small and pricey. May come back, but will definitely reserve it for a special occasion.

Really enjoyed the dinner here. We'd been fans of Horizons for quite awhile, so were disappointed to see it disappear, but this location is more beautiful and central, so that's fine. We did miss the larger portions of the old place, but it was also fun to try lots of little plates. We all enjoyed pretty much everything we ate. The service was a little off, however. They didn't do a good job of wiping the table whenever they wiped it and it took quite awhile to clear dishes, refill water glasses. I noticed the management helped, which was good. The waitstaff was friendly and informed, however. It is not a cheap place to dine, however. Great to go to a place where you can hear yourself talk!
